She does well in her crate overnight and is quickly picking up training. Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Baxter came to us at 5 months old, originally from a reputable breeder before spending a few months with another family. He is now 2 years old and his birthday is August 17th! We are placing him for adoption as he and our other male dog do not get along and vie for dominance. When alone or with our female dog Baxter is lovely and we will miss him. It is with a heavy heart we are putting him up for adoption by another loving and caring hooman who he can love and be loved! Baxter takes time to warm up to people but once he does he is cuddly, often docile with his human and will shadow you around the house. He has boundless energy and needs regular exercise daily and mentally stimulating play to occupy his mind. A new home for him would ideally have no other pets and a patient parent to see his potential and sweetness beyond any initial fear he may experience after being rehomed. If his new home does not work out we would want him back avoiding any unnecessary shelter stay.

Meet Tally! Tally is a sweet, affectionate, playful girl who we think is a young adult Border Collie mix. At 34 pounds, she’s a great size, with a soft, silky coat and a happy, bouncy personality. Tally absolutely loves people and wants to be wherever her humans are. She’s incredibly affectionate, loves to cuddle, follows her people around the house, and makes friends easily. She’s the kind of dog who will happily curl up next to you on the couch or climb into your lap if you let her. She’s also smart, playful, and energetic. She’s joyful and like a “jumping bean,” always bouncing, hopping, and looking for something fun to do. After she has time to settle in, she has a more moderate energy level because she settles quickly once she’s had some activity. We think she’d have a lot of fun with obedience training, agility, hiking, or other activities that give her both physical exercise and something to think about. Tally has done well with other dogs and was described by her foster mom as very dog-friendly. She particularly enjoys playing and cuddling with other dogs. She can still be a little unsure about social cues with more assertive dogs, so continued work on boundaries and appropriate dog interactions will be important. She loves her toys and attention, and is learning to be patient and share with her pack. She responds well to correction and has never shown any aggression. She has lived successfully with cats. She may chase a cat that runs, but she redirects easily, so we think she could do well with a confident cat and appropriate introductions. Tally is doing well with her house manners and is crate trained and potty trained. She settles quietly in her crate when left alone and overnight. Like most young dogs, she does need an outlet for her energy and appropriate toys and chews to keep her entertained. Her leash skills are still a work in progress. She pulls and would benefit from continued training and possibly a harness. She also has a curiosity and can be a flight risk if a door if left open, so her new family will need to be diligent about doors and entrances while she settles in. She’s not looking for an escape opportunity, but if given the chance, she may take a joy ride to explore. Tally is a wonderful combination of affectionate, fun, and smart. She is eager to please, listens well, and has already made a lot of progress in a short time. She’s looking for an active family who will continue her training, give her plenty of exercise and enrichment, and appreciate a very loving dog who wants to be part of everything they do.
