Argo is an extremely loyal companion. He takes a while to warm up but once he knows you all he wants is to cuddle, give love and receive it. Argo is deaf, so that does come with some challenges but he loves a routine and is very responsive once he is shown the expectation a few times.

Story
STUART is a sweet fluffy little mixed breed puppy looking for a home. His breed mix is a mystery. He appears to be part Australian Shepherd, but is much smaller than an Aussie. He could have some Corgi and/or Jack Russell in the mix and who knows what else. He's around 6 months old and 16 pounds but a bit too skinny. We don't expect him to get much bigger, he'll probably remain under 25 pounds when fully grown. Stuart is a friendly boy, a bit on the timid side, best suited to home where he will have a confident dog to show him the ropes. He loves people of all ages. Stuart loves toys and treats. If you'd like to meet Stuart, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Stuart at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate, if she's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee. Paging Dr. Doofensmertz. This handsome guy has become something of a celebrity around town with fans often stopping and calling him by name. Being that he is such a friendly and personable fella, he is always more than happy to stop and greet his adoring fans. Doofensmertz is particularly eager to meet other dogs and small children and may act himself silly trying to get their attention. Despite his fascination with them, his larger than life personality and belief that they all want to immediately wrestle with all 45-50 pounds of him and that can be overwhelming for smaller or more timid dogs and children. Doofensmertz also desperately wants to play with every living creature including cats or other small animals, however, they really do not prefer his go-to game of chase. Therefore, a home with smaller animals and/or children may not be the best fit for him. Doofensmertz loves to go on walks and does fairly well on the leash. He can struggle to remember not to pull when he sees someone or something that he wants to meet. He does sit nicely when asked before crossing the street. He is also fully house trained. This incredibly social guy absolutely loves to be where the family is which is why his crate is not his favorite place. He does not protest when he has to go in (unless you count his sad puppy-dog eyes) and he does sleep in it throughout the night without a peep. In addition to his incredible good looks, Doofensmertz is very intelligent 3 year old and enjoys some mental stimulation to keep his busy brain engaged and out of trouble. With that intelligence though comes the opportunity for him to learn some fun tricks with the perfect someone who is willing to put the time into the training. Kiki and Kitsune, named after the animals we resembled when we were saved. Kiki after a coyote name, I mean... look at my ears :) And Kitsune is a fox name, I looked like a little fox when I was saved!! Us girls are sweet and loving and happy with people we know, but you can't blame us for being nervous with new people- we were found abandoned in a field in the deep valley of TX with our dead mother and siblings in a trash bag with us........................ So yes, we are nervous with new people but honestly- new people are only new for a day or two- then you are OUR peeps!! We do not have to be adopted together, but our story is the same so we will share it together... We came to the rescue absolutely petrified but geez, our foster mama was so nice and fed us wonderful food and we were loving on her quickly. So glad to be safe, fed and loved! Now we are preparing for our families and that must be you! We are both gorgeous girls, Kitsune has grown to almost her sister's size, so both are looking to be large full grown pups. Local adoption only so they can meet your families and you can get to know them too! ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! SO MANY LIVES DEPEND ON IT!! Local adoption is $250 each (in TX)
