Argo is an extremely loyal companion. He takes a while to warm up but once he knows you all he wants is to cuddle, give love and receive it. Argo is deaf, so that does come with some challenges but he loves a routine and is very responsive once he is shown the expectation a few times.

Story
Paging Dr. Doofensmertz. This handsome guy has become something of a celebrity around town with fans often stopping and calling him by name. Being that he is such a friendly and personable fella, he is always more than happy to stop and greet his adoring fans. Doofensmertz is particularly eager to meet other dogs and small children and may act himself silly trying to get their attention. Despite his fascination with them, his larger than life personality and belief that they all want to immediately wrestle with all 45-50 pounds of him and that can be overwhelming for smaller or more timid dogs and children. Doofensmertz also desperately wants to play with every living creature including cats or other small animals, however, they really do not prefer his go-to game of chase. Therefore, a home with smaller animals and/or children may not be the best fit for him. Doofensmertz loves to go on walks and does fairly well on the leash. He can struggle to remember not to pull when he sees someone or something that he wants to meet. He does sit nicely when asked before crossing the street. He is also fully house trained. This incredibly social guy absolutely loves to be where the family is which is why his crate is not his favorite place. He does not protest when he has to go in (unless you count his sad puppy-dog eyes) and he does sleep in it throughout the night without a peep. In addition to his incredible good looks, Doofensmertz is very intelligent 3 year old and enjoys some mental stimulation to keep his busy brain engaged and out of trouble. With that intelligence though comes the opportunity for him to learn some fun tricks with the perfect someone who is willing to put the time into the training. If Doofensmertz seems like the right fit for you, please go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. Adoption fee is $260.00. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

Story
Hi guys I'm Hollister! I'm around 1 year old and 42 lbs. of FUN FUN FUN! Like seriously, I could run and play and tumble around with other dogs or do zoomies in the yard all day long. Dog friends are the best, I could have a million and not have enough. Cats aren't bad either, sometimes I try to play with them and they get all sassy so I mostly leave them alone. Plus, there's always exploring to be done and I know I'll miss something if I sit for too long so I'm usually on the move. I'm pretty good on a leash and would make a great partner for someone with an active lifestyle, I would love to take hikes and go on adventures. I'm potty trained playful, cute, and crate trained, so if you want a buddy to learn new tricks with and just enjoy life, I'm totally your guy! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   April 25, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Meet Tilly! She is the biggest sweetheart you’ll ever meet! My mother in law suddenly passed away and we are trying to find Tilly a great home to live out the rest of her years. She is 8 years old. She has been with her since she was a puppy. She got her from a breeder. She did go through some training as a puppy but might need some refreshers. She is 100% crate trained and house trained. I am unaware if she is up to date on shots. She needs somewhere where she can run or have a back yard to enjoy. She is great with people but she is territorial of her house and can be aggressive towards other dogs. I know in the past when she goes to the groomer she does okay there. So I am unaware if she does good with dogs outside of her home. I’m sure with some reassurance she could get along with others! She loves all the loving she can get but also likes to enjoying laying out in the sun in the backyard or chewing on a bone. If you have any questions reach out!

Story
Meet Nash! Nash came from a farm where he and his siblings were not treated very nice. They came to us a month ago and have been learning to love and trust humans. Memphis is a 9 month old energetic, fun loving boy who is just waiting for his person to tell him what to do next! He is a little timid and it takes him a bit to warm up to you. He loves cuddles, belly rubs and snuggling with his person on the couch! He loves to follow his person around the house and wait for what he will be doing next! Nash loves to explore and play outside and loves playing with sticks! He also loves running around in the back yard with all of his puppy siblings! Nash is in a foster home with his brother, Memphis and several other pups and does amazing! Nash loves everyone including children and loves being with his people! He is potty trained and crate trained and is great with other dogs and cats. He is learning to walk nicely on a leash, loves walks and he will need regular exercise to ensure he doesn't get bored. He will need a fenced in yard so that he is able to explore. If you think Nash sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an application to arrange a meet and greet with him! https://www.coopersafeplace.org/application-page Nash's adoption fee is $400 and due on the day of adoption.

Story
Meet Ridge! Ridge is a Mini Australian Shepard Pit mix who was surrendered by a family unable to care for an accidental litter. He came to us with two siblings, Raine and Canyon and they are just as sweet! He is 6 months old, and approximately 20lbs. Ridge is so unbelievably cute and his foster family describes him as sweet and playful! He loves playing with his toys and bones and also loves snuggling up next to his people! He loves playing in the back yard with his puppy brothers and getting lots of love and kisses!!! Ridge is a pretty active puppy, so he will need regular walks to help him be his best! A fenced yard would also be best for him so that he can have plenty of running and play time! Ridge loves all people including children and other dogs! He is in a foster home with other dogs and cats and he absolutely loves them! He has potty training almost mastered, with few accidents. He is still working on alerting his fosters when he needs to go potty. He does not mind being in his crate and goes in calmly and sleeps through the night! If you are ready to add this sweet puppy boy to your family, please click on the link below and fill out an application. There is a $25 application fee. https://www.coopersafeplace.org/application-page Ridge's adoption fee is $450.00.

Story
Cody is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix! This handsome boy is very happy and outgoing, loves going on adventures and spending time with his foster family. He weighs in around 58 pounds, but is pretty leggy! This boy is all puppy, and loves to play and receive lots of attention from his foster family. He's working very hard on not jumping up when excited, and learning basic manners and training! Cody is super sweet and loves to learn; he's extremely treat motivated and hopes his forever family will continue training with him. He is fostered with four cats who he loves. He does well with them, but may engage in a playful chase from time to time. He'd do best in a home with cats that are dog savvy, and won't be startled by his big puppy energy! He is also fostered with other dogs his size, and previously lived with small dogs. Cody would benefit from a confident and social sibling to help him continue to build his confidence. He loves to play rough, but needs some time to acclimate to his new friends before he's ready to wrestle. He enjoys attending doggy daycare where he can run and play and burn off his energy. While he previously lived with a tiny human, he would do best in a home with older kids - teenagers only please! He's both potty trained and crate trained, and working on walking well on his leash. He loves stuffed toys, especially those with squeakers! Cody enjoys running around and does great burning off his energy in the backyard. His ideal forever family will be patient with him as he works on his training and becomes the best version of himself! Cody is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275! To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
