***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees.
The living hell for these amazing souls is never ever ending. Sherry along with 4 babies & friends were listed for sale on an auction/sale page for dogs. Sherry’s mind body & soul was been used as a breeding machine in a puppy mill in Missouri to make money off her back. All of these beautiful dogs were outside 24/7. The woman who posted the add was supposed to be shutting down her breeding facility because she was pregnant & wanted the dogs gone, but at a cost of course. If we had not paid money to her they would have been sold again to continued to be used to breed & live a disgusting life in a cage outside in the stinking heat day after day then in the freezing cold in winter time. Her life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. On this day we rescued a total of 9 breeding mums & dads & puppies who all they knew was to breed in a life of hell & then being sold to start the cycle all over again. Of course when we rescue these amazing souls they have had no veterinary care whatsoever & we have to start from scratch.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Sherry how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home.
Sherry was flown back to the WA state from CO where she now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home.
Sherry is so sweet once she knows you & is comfortable with you. We don’t know how many liters of puppies she has already had but those days are over for this girl. Sherry when we picked her up was so overweight & how this happened we don’t know because we were shown pictures of her & she was a healthy weight but now she is losing weight to get her to where she is supposed to pet our vets.
But she is good with her baths & adjusted to being groomed, but not a fan of the hairdryer but is getting used to it.
For everything she has been through, she adapted quite quickly.
Her foster mum in CO said she was so bonded with the other dogs because that’s all she knew. But once they got freedom & were able to run & be outside, they were so happy.
She adores being picked up & held & cuddled they said, she just wants to be loved & she loves them back.
The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside.
She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. She will want to snuggle up with you.
She would still need work walking on her harness & leash as it’s all completely new to her. We have been teaching her to walk on a slip lead.
She does not discriminate against breeds.
Sherry rides beautifully in the car & considering the only times we know of was when she was rescued by us & going home with her foster family & then with us. But with us she sat there & enjoyed the ride. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Sherry as you can imagine spent the first part of her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Sherry where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them.
Sherry is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her.
Sherry has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in her foster home & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. Sherry needs to go to a forever home with another dog or dogs in the home, she enjoys the company of other dogs & we currently have her with other dogs in her loving foster home. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard.
Sherry is roughly 26.lbs, she is 2 years old. She is a mini Australian shepherd & what she is mixed with we are not sure, female, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets. She had x-rays taken to make sure she wasn’t pregnant. She received a dental scale & polish, dental x-rays along with extractions, 1 premolar, 2 incisors minor & 2 minor molars. She is microchipped, had all her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed.
We have spent far more on Sherry with paying for her from a puppy mill breeder in Missouri. Bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her flight fees flying her to WA. All of her medical care in WA including, spay by laser etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Her adoption fee does not even come close to covering half of what we have spent on Sherry.
Sherry has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.
We were not there when Sherry was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Sherry’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Sherry potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Sherry & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Sherry who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Sherry has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
