Story
Hello, my name is Samantha (named after the dog from I am Legend). I’m looking for a new home. - I am very playful and energetic - I love games, hikes, walks, carrots, cheese, bones. - I am very good with kids but I do get excited at times. - I am very well trained and I have a very good recall. - I will love and protect anyone who is in my family. - I don’t like small dogs so if I can be the one and only princess that would be great. - I am up to date on all shots and I am recently spayed. - I am 1 year old I will bring my own crate, bed, training tools and 1 month food.

Story
Arnie was found by the local SPCA and we adopted him when he was about 1.5 years old. He loves human connection, attention, and affection and always welcomes pets and belly rubs. He enjoys play growling, tugging, and chasing down toys. He is very responsive to “go to bed” and other basic commands (sit, turn around, down). He was always leash reactive towards other dogs, particularly when outdoors. Basically when he’s outside he’s on high alert and it is best to avoid close proximity with strangers and other pets, as if he’s agitated he may instinctively snap at anyone close by. Indoors he’s a very sweet and obedient dog. The ideal new home and owner would be able to give him lots of attention, have a private yard where he can run around, and not have any other dogs or small animals. Because he can pull very strongly the owner also needs to have good physical strength to stay anchored in the event that he lunges at dogs or other triggers (bikes, skateboards, scooters).

Story
Shepherd Mix Age: < 1 yr old Male, Neutered > 30 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Roth came to the shelter as a stray with a serious issue with his pee-pee (paraphimosis). The shelter’s vet did emergency surgery, then called us to rescue him. Unfortunately, the first surgery was unsuccessful (scar tissue closure causing the inability to urinate) so our vet had to go in do another surgery. So far, it is all good, however, he may need another procedure as he gets bigger (if he gets bigger). Given his mix with Chihuahua, he main remain a medium-size dog. Otherwise, Roth is a sweet, happy-go-lucky puppy that is people and dog friendly. He walks on a leash. He will need some training on jumping on people, and a few other puppy manners. Roth needs a home with another playful dog(s), probably close to his size or larger. Potential adopters must own their home with a good size fenced-in backyard. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Roth, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
German Shepherd Age: < 1 yr old Female, Spayed 40 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheyanne was brought to the shelter as a very young, small, emaciated puppy with two broken legs (assumably from being hit by a car). Since as a German Shepherd, she had a lot of growing to do, the only viable option was to splint the legs and hope for the best. Fast forward 5 months and her front leg healed pretty well (which is good - front legs are more critical than hind legs for mobility. Unfortunately, we weren’t as lucky with her back leg. The severity of the fractures, impeded the needed bone growth, and the leg ended up shortened. There are ongoing discussions with the vet about whether to amputate that leg. Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs will cover the cost of the amputation, if that happens. Otherwise Cheyanne is a sweet dog that needs a lot of socialization with people. Shepherds are naturally wary of strangers, so continuing her peoples skills is important. She loves all the dogs in her foster home. We don’t put shepherds in homes with cats. A home with another well socialized dog around her size would be ideal. Please note for large breed dogs, we require that potential adopters own their home, with a securely fenced-in backyard. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Cheyanne, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
Jet was my mom’s dog and best furry companion. Unfortunately my mom had some health complications that led to her recent untimely passing. My sister and I both work full time jobs and are unable to give Jet the attention she needs and deserves. Jet is young and needs someone to work with her on basic obedience training (she knows sit, down, and shake). She currently lives with two other large dogs, and knows how to share her toys and read other dog’s body language. She can be leash reactive while on walks and has a prey drive around birds, cats, and reactive small dogs. She would do best with someone who has time to take her on outdoor adventures. She is great on road trips and settles well in the car. She is a goofy girl who wants to be a part of the action, but she’s also ok lounging at home on the couch. She wants nothing more than to love and kiss you, her new best friend.

Story
Max (watch my video!) was at a distant overcrowded shelter for over a month when his time was up. He had no options left so we rescued him. All the volunteers adore him. Despite having no walks from his shelter kennel once out he is well behaved and great with other large dogs he met at the shelter and volunteers. He needs time to warm up and feel safe then cooperative loves treats and is lovable. Smart and gorgeous. Max did great during his transport car ride but once at a new place he was nervous and confused. Did take treats. Once he knows you he will be your best friend and bodyguard. Max will need an experienced guardian and a home with a yard. For now no kids. More info. to come as he relaxes and learns. 7/1/22: He is now doing great at his foster home with 2 other GSDs. With time he adjusted to new people at home. He is still leary of of strangers. Bonded to his foster mom. Loves his walks/hikes playing ball and relaxing at his foster home. 9/12/21: Sadly when his potential foster home and her 2 GSDs during their two meets her female GSD did not work out with him. The female is less tolerant of new dogs and wants to be the top dog. Max did great with her male dog and social. He loves treats snuggled being petted and enjoyed the attention. Need basic leash training. Poor Max will continue to board until we can find him an experienced foster home that will give him time to warm up and feel safe. Max is boarding until we can find him an experienced and dedicated foster home. Donations needed to help pay for his boarding. To date since 10/20/21 over $4000. 10/1/21: Our volunteers are visiting Max and taking him out for walks and play yard. Doing great and friendly with 2nd visit with female and male with yummy treats and turkey hot dogs. Max goes to male volunteer for hot dogs long walk and fine being petted. Max is a sweetie with people he knows and trust. Max would be a great hiking and home buddy.YouTube: https://youtu.be/veR-UfNMVfgApril 24, 2024, 1:05 am

Lyle was on the SASA PTS list Sat. 5/13 at 4:30 pm so we tagged him to save his life. He was a shelter staff favorite. Now we need a foster home for him ASAP as he is in emergency boarding. Lyle is a super dog and is people friendly. He loves to play then calms - and he loves his pets. He does need some basic training but he seems easy to train and he's a pleaser. He already has learned to sit and wait for treats only gently taking the treat after the release command. Lyle is very pretty and unique with one blue eye. Donations are appreciated to help us pay for his emergency boarding until we find him a foster home.April 24, 2024, 1:05 am

Story
Gorgeous Bear was on SASA PTS list Sat. 5/13 at 4:30 pm so we tagged him to save his life. Shelter favorite but they could not extend his time anymore due to being over-crowded with dogs. Now we need a foster home for ASAP. We will need to pay for emergency boarding for him until we can find him a foster home. He is super dog and people friendly. Sweetie. Loves attention exercise basic training and cuddly. Donations to help pay for his emergency boarding is greatly needed and appreciated. 6/2/23: Bear is doing great at this temp. foster home. He did great in car ride. Very happy loved being brushed watching for squirrels in yard and within a day he was normal calm and relaxes inside home. He's a sweetie. He is great with car rides when fh visits her mom and at dog parks. No cats. 7/25/23: Current schedule: 1/2 hour walk in the morning and the afternoon. Early evening he gets about 45 minutes at dog park to run and play. He eats his meals & sleeps great at night in his crate easily 9 hrs. He’s very food motivated & learns quickly when there are high-value treats. He enjoys being brushed. He seems fine with dremel tool nail trims. He’s tolerant of getting his teeth brushed- his back teeth are yellow but his front are white. He’s fine with checking his paws regularly for foxtails after walks. He’s very curious (not fearful at all) & likes to explore everything when he goes to a new environment. He loves squeaky toys but he destroys the squeak in them soon. He developed good impulse control with food & is much better waiting at doors/yd gates & crossing streets these days. He knows sit down wait (still working on stay for over a minute) drop it paw/shake bow lie down cover nose but his recall & heel are not good once outside of the yard. 50% of the time he will play fetch in my side yd but only for about 5x before it bores him. He’s much better at not pulling on his leash on walks but an alert person still needs to walk him as he’s highly reactive (barking jumping & pulling) when he sees squirrels or cats. If I can distract him with a high value treat before he’ll not react bad to dogs on walks. He will ignore my treats when it comes to squirrels & cats though. Not recommended for a cat household.April 24, 2024, 1:05 am
