Story
Dunn is looking for a loving foster home where they can rest and recover while receiving medical treatment. Reason for Foster: Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) Foster Time Frame: Approximately 2 Weeks (The foster timeframe may vary depending on recovery and any follow-up medical needs.) Foster Care Plan: Dunn is being treated for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. While recovering, they may have symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, and nasal/eye discharge. Because URI can be contagious to other dogs, we recommend keeping them separated from resident dogs until they have fully recovered. They will go home with medication and all the supplies needed for their care. Once treatment is complete, they will return to Operation Kindness for their spay/neuter surgery and adoption. How to take this pet home:Adopt: Dunn is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which allows prospective adopters to take pets home before they are available for adoption.Visit Operation Kindness and speak with our Client Services team. Foster-to-Adopt placements are first-come, first-served.Foster: Interested in fostering this pet? Email foster@operationkindness.org.

SWEET SWEET SWEET! Found as a stray dumped in the country. Amazingly, Finn has a great temperament and has been evaluated by an accredited behaviorist. He passed all his tests with flying colors. We are happy to share her evaluation with any prospective family. Finn is about 3 years old, neutered, current on vaccinations, hw negative and microchipped. He is learning about toys in his foster home and how to live inside. Finn LOVES people! He kissed the vet, the tech, and everyone in the waiting room at the vet clinic. Finn is very smart and catches on quickly to what you are teaching him. He will make a fabulous addition to the right family. Story
Meet Jasper! A soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix currently in Colorado Springs, CO, whose calm, loving heart is wrapped in a stunning 70-pound merle coat. With the gentle spirit of a wise old friend and the quiet loyalty of a true companion, Jasper is the kind of dog who will melt into your side on a cozy evening and follow you room to room just to be close. Jasper thrives in peaceful surroundings and forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people. He does well around children and enjoys their company, but he would do best with calm or older kids who understand boundaries and know how to treat him gently. Loud or high-energy play can make him uneasy, so a respectful home environment will help him feel safe and content. He’s a mellow guy who doesn’t need much to be happy: a soft spot to relax, the comforting presence of his caregiver, and maybe a treat puzzle or two to keep his brain engaged. Food-motivated and clever, Jasper knows a delightful list of commands like sit, stay, paw, spin, and even “middle”, a trick that’s as cute as it sounds! He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and perfectly content when left alone, making him a great match for someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule. While Jasper doesn’t require intense exercise, he does enjoy slow, sniffy walks where he can take in the world at his own pace. His favorite pastime? Being in the same room as you, soaking up your presence like sunshine! After being involved in two traumatic incidents with unfamiliar dogs, one when he was a puppy and another more recently, Jasper has developed a strong reactivity to dogs he doesn't know. He may bark or lunge when he sees them, especially near fences or in close proximity, and he continues to work through that with training and patient support. That said, he’s done well with familiar dogs in controlled settings, showing that he can feel safe with the right structure and trust. He’s happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard and a caregiver who values companionship, consistency, and quiet. Loud noises can startle him, but with reassurance, he settles easily. Jasper isn’t just a dog, he’s a constant companion, a quiet presence, and a gentle soul waiting for someone to see the beauty in his sensitive heart. If you’re seeking a loyal, low-key friend who will return your care with quiet affection and soulful eyes, Jasper may just be the one waiting to share your next chapter! Story
Dolly is great. She's good with dogs, but is a little timid if they are bigger than her. She likes people and LOVES treats. Food is the best way to earn her trust. She can sit for treats, is doing wonderful with kennel training, and with the exception of pee pads, has never had an accident inside. She likes the couch a lot, it seems to be her safe space when out with everyone. She'll curl up next to you on the couch to nap or to soak up some affection. She's learning to let us know when she needs to go out, she'll hop off the couch and either wander around or make her way to the back door to let us know she needs to potty. Our favorite quirk of hers is the one folded ear and one that sticks straight up. It's the cutest. She loves pup-cups but can be a little anxious in the car at times, she tries to sit as close as possible to me without actually sitting in my lap lol. Since she's a little shy, she doesn't typically like being approached too fast. She'll back off or go the other way.  Applications at codysfriendsrescue.org ##2749947##
