Story
SWEET SWEET SWEET! Found as a stray dumped in the country. Amazingly, Finn has a great temperament and has been evaluated by an accredited behaviorist. He passed all his tests with flying colors. We are happy to share her evaluation with any prospective family. Finn is about 3 years old, neutered, current on vaccinations, hw negative and microchipped. He is learning about toys in his foster home and how to live inside. Finn LOVES people! He kissed the vet, the tech, and everyone in the waiting room at the vet clinic. Finn is very smart and catches on quickly to what you are teaching him. He will make a fabulous addition to the right family. For more information on adopting Finn, please email can.adoptions@yahoo.com or call 903-967-3226.

Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! Crockett was found curled up in a little ball outside a Love’s truck stop.  When asked if he belonged to anyone the response from the store clerk was that he had been there a week and nobody could catch him.  With the power of my pack, treats, and lots of patience he was finally open up to be leashed.  Crockett, his baby mama and their puppies were all dumped there.  Crockett was the only one who waited loyally for his people to return.  We gave him the name as that was the city we stopped in to buy him food and get him the much needed flea and tick medicine.  It was a place where his life began to turn around.  The reason we are not keeping him is because we have 14 dogs of our own and absolutely do not want another dog. Crockett is a gentle soul who has been completely shut down by the ordeal of being abandoned.  Since we have had him he has started opening up to show that he is a playful, silly, and fiercely loyal guy.  He does absolutely amazing with all the other dogs.  There is some tension between him and our intact Belgian Male but that is because our male is a sissy and Crockett who is also intact is not sure what to think.  Crockett has shown ZERO reactivity or aggression to people or the dogs.  He is hand shy and especially with fast movements.  He has difficulty going in and out doors if people are crowding the door.  He flattens if you go to take his collar.  In the short time he has been at our house he has really started coming out of his shell and has progressed in all of the above categories.  He wants to learn.  He wants to connect.  He wants to please.  Currently his energy level is a 2 to 3 but with more time, confidence, and routine he might cap out at a 5. He is a going for a regular walk/hike kind of a guy. I really feel he would Love to have a another dog in his pack.   He is a new book that needs to be written.  He is friendly with people and was super curious about the children at the feed store we took him to.  Because he was only sitting in the cart and watching the activity it is hard to know.  This dog is SUPER smart and a real problem solver.  I see him being a great sport prospect for Agility or any activity where he has to think.Crockett was left to starve so he has had some food rummaging and petty theft crimes committed at the house.  He doesn’t mean to be naughty but this is something one must be aware of. Crockett is not one to ransack a house and rip into food as I have left him free in the house with bags of treats and dog food.  He did however, wreck a couple of shoes last night while I slept so maybe chewing is a thing.  I am guessing not as I think he is simply doing young dog stuff.  My assessment as he is blossoming is he can be a bit rude with other dogs taking what he wants.  My pack is large and I see him acting rude towards the ones who will not knock him into next Tuesday. Nothing phases this boy as far as loud noises are concerned.  He is not a fan of the crate but if you physically place him in there he does not flip out.  I have not seen any anxiety in him other than he needs time to trust people again. I would not suggest at this time a home with lots of kids as the activity may be too overwhelming.  I could be wrong as I do not have children.  He likes both men and women alike.  I would not recommend a first time dog owner as Crockett needs someone who can help him on his journey of trusting.  Would love to see him go to someone who is active and outdoorsy and will make him their right-hand pup.  I see he wants to connect more deeply with us but we have so many dogs that we are working and can’t give him what he deserves.  If he gets proper training and exercise he can absolutely be happy with someone who works during the day but gives him lots of attention when not at work.  He also might make a great shop dog because his is so neutral and gently friendly.Being Heartworm Positive his true potential and abilities cannot be seen.  He sleeps a lot and acts like an old dog right now but I envision him as a weekend warrior kind of guy who has a nice off switch   General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $350 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Daisy is a middle-aged Border Collie-Aussie mix who was abandoned by her “family” when they moved away without her Daisy was lucky that kindly neighbors took her in several years ago though they never planned on keeping her. They’ve reached out to DASH for help rehoming her. Though Daisy is obviously a border collie mix she does not appear to have the working instinct of that breed. During initial training class she was more interested in lying down than in participating.  This doesn’t mean Daisy can’t be trained! Her current “fosters”agree with us that in a new environment with breed-savvy owners  Daisy will enjoy more training. She’s a very smart girl! She is happy to be a lap dog… If you’re interested in adoption please Complete Application below, Then TEXT: Tiffany : (214)-399-0664 Sara :(214)-549-9905   General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $350 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Story
UPDATE 9/11/23. TILLIE HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM BOARD AND TRAIN! She played with at least 5 dogs there, knows her commands, and is ready for her forever home! Tillie is VERY active and would be best suited with another doggie playmate in her new home. OR perhaps someone who would like to train with her for agility or some other event. Tillie is exceptionally smart! PRECIOUS TILLIE!! LOOK AT THOSE EARS!!!!! Tillie is a medium sized dog and weighs approximately 37 pounds. She is an Australian cattle dog mix, 9 months old, spayed, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She is also microchipped. Tillie was out of time at a local shelter and we just HAD to get her! SMART!! SMART!! And LOVES to play fetch with you. Here is a video of her with her "big stick" which she alternates with her "Tillie Ball". She has a lot of playing to do and a lot of love to learn about. Tillie will need an active family that will make her a real part of their family and take her with them where they are able. For more information, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.
