PROS: Friendly and social – Enjoys being around people and other animals. Affectionate – Loves cuddles, pets, and spending time with humans. Good with kids – Gentle and patient around children. Good with other dogs – Gets along well with other pets. Calm temperament – Relaxed, not overly anxious or hyper. Well-behaved indoors – Doesn’t chew furniture or cause damage. House-trained – Knows to go potty outside Basic obedience – Knows commands like sit, stay, come, or down. Smart and trainable Good traveler – Rides calmly in the car. CONS: I am to believe that he is a high anxiety dog especially when nobody is home. He marks inside the house only when nobody is home with him and when we keep him outside for the duration that we’re gone, he still finds a way to hop over the fence. We’ve tried numerous of things to keep him contained in the back yard but he still keeps finding ways to escape. Like previously stated, he’s house trained but ONLY marks when left alone inside.

I'm Chess and I'm here to tell you that there is no sweeter pup than me. I'm about 20 pounds, one year old and super cute. I like toys, nylabones and playing with other dogs. At first I had no idea what a leash or harness was but after some practice, I'm excited now to go for walks every morning. I make a great little office assistant if you work from home and I sleep quietly through the night. I learned the doggie door pretty quickly and that helped a lot with my house training. I'm pretty much a total puppy package and hope you will consider adding me to your family.

Looking for a young female to adopt? Meet JUNO! Juno is a Border Collie lovers DREAM! She is everything you would want in a BC puppy (under 1 year old). She is a lovely girl and full of energy, well trained for the most part. Happy, healthy, spayed, FUN, and BEAUTIFUL, this pup is magnificent! She loves to swim, play with toys, and do tricks for treats! She is fostered in a home with cats and doesn't seem bothered by them. Sometimes she wants to play (which is not allowed, cat's preference) but is not aggressive with them. She has been around very young children a little bit but her puppy energy is too much for small children. Children over age 10 who know how to handle a dog should be ok. She crates well. MEET BURKE - THE SWEETEST GENTLEMAN YOU'LL EVER MEET FROM HIS FOSTER MOM: In my 70+ years I have never met a Dog as SWEET and as EAGER to please as Burke. He is about 6 years old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and about 40 pounds. He LOVES people and other dogs (not tested with cats) and he is wonderful with children. He greatest joy is just to be petted loved and loved and loved. Burke kennels well; sleeps in his kennel in my bedroom--though I leave him out during the day when I am not home. He walks nicely on the leash though if something interests him (especially a good smelling bush or fire hydrant) he will pull to get there but that is getting much better. FROM BURKE: I will love you and follow you everywhere, I will be you best friend and travel buddy! (I love to ride in a truck, car, golf cart as long as I am with you)...I am done with herding -no more heavy work for me - but I do LOVE long walks and hikes. Mostly, I want to be with you: to rest beside you during a good movie or football game, feeling your hand on my head. I am a GORGEOUS Border Collie--Handsome, gentle, and loyal. Weighing in at a sturdy 87 pounds, Scout is a handsome and friendly boy who has faced a lot in his life but remains full of love and loyalty. Scout was born in our care in 2019 after his mom was brought to the shelter. Sadly, his mom couldn't leave the shelter due to protocol and contracted distemper, leaving Scout as the sole survivor of his litter. Adopted as a puppy, Scout's journey took a tough turn when he was abandoned by his adopter at the shelter following a breakup. Since then, Scout has been living in boarding, waiting patiently for his chance at a stable, loving home. Nelson is just one of the sweetest puppies there is. When he first came to the rescue he was struggling with a skin condition that took a little trial/error to figure out, despite this he never let it get him down or stop his happiness. He loves to play, then lay next to you and wants to be wherever you are. He's all round just an amazing puppy, with catching onto crate & potty training fairly quickly and easily. In another life, its suspected he was a bird watcher, as rather than walking around and sniffing on walks he's content just looking around and observing his surroundings while sunbathing. He's growing up to be around a medium size dog (estimated to get around 25 lbs). Nelson is a sweet little guy, calm and cuddly. He loves his toys and to play with other pups. He is learning sit and other tricks. He came into the rescue with a skin condition (non-contagious) and is almost healed. Nelson promises to be your best friend from day one. He is the epitome of the stereotype, a man’s best friend. He is brave, even when faced with scary shots from the vet. He loves to play, and everything he does is to make you happy. He plays well with other dogs but prefers to play with humans. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update.
