Story
Looking for a young female to adopt? Meet JUNO! Juno is a Border Collie lovers DREAM! She is everything you would want in a BC puppy (under 1 year old). She is a lovely girl and full of energy, well trained for the most part. Happy, healthy, spayed, FUN, and BEAUTIFUL, this pup is magnificent! She loves to swim, play with toys, and do tricks for treats! She is fostered in a home with cats and doesn't seem bothered by them. Sometimes she wants to play (which is not allowed, cat's preference) but is not aggressive with them. She has been around very young children a little bit but her puppy energy is too much for small children. Children over age 10 who know how to handle a dog should be ok. She crates well. If you seriously want a stunning BC pup, this is your girl! Apply to adopt at bcrrt.com.

Story
Meet Izzy bizzy bee   Izzy is a very special girl and she’s looking for her very special family, maybe that’s you or someone you know!  Izzy is a former alumni dog who has come back to BCRRT - through no fault of her previous family - unfortunately circumstances changed and it was best for all parties that Izzy come back to us.  Since being back we have learnt all about Izzy and her wonderful personality. We have discovered the love she gives us is never ending, the cuddles she produces are out of this world and that she loves nothing more than her donut ring toy and a tennis ball!! She does take time to warm up but once she trusts you, she bonds to her person/people and is ready for all the adventures that lie ahead.  Izzy will need a home that is quiet but one that can stimulate her fun, loving energy! Izzy does take time to adjust to new people/strangers but once she knows you, she is all cuddles. She would be best suited to a family with no young children and no other dogs.  She is such a sweet girl with love to give and would love to find her forever home with people willing to spend time with her, throwing a ball around, quiet walks with her humans and cuddles.  She is active but has an excellent off-switch and knows when it is time for inside vs outside. Izzy would do well with an older couple, maybe an empty-nest home where she can be spoilt forever and ever. In return she will give you her unwavering loyalty and spunk  Izzy is around 6 years old, UTD on all shots and spayed. She is crate trained but is perfectly fine out of one, she walks well on a leash but is strong. She rides well in a car and is located in the DFW area.  Interested? Reach out to us and apply today! We believe Izzy deserves the world and can’t wait to help her find it.

Story
Are you a gentle person looking for a companion who is easy to exercise in your fenced yard and a wonderfully entertaining friend? That’s ME! I’m Sydney! I’m a small girl (34 lbs), 1.5 years old, spayed, healthy, vaccinated BC/Mini Aussie mix. I like training exercises (treats!) and learn fast! I sleep deeply through the night in my comfy crate and don’t mind spending a bit of time there during the day if you have to run errands (like getting me new tennis balls!) I have a busy mind, will bark at sudden noises (so apartment living would not be a good fit). I can be picky about canine friends and not a good buddy for birds, cats, squirrels, rabbits, or small children. I am smart and sensitive, will follow you everywhere, look to you for guidance and comfort (and tennis balls). I truly want to please you. I am expressive, have the cutest wiggle butt you’ve EVER seen, and if you love to laugh out loud, I’m your girl! I am currently in the DFW area and ready to be adopted! Apply for me at bcrrt.com.

Story
Meet BIG ENERGY Benny the red with the striking blue eyes and precious freckles. Benny is an active 9-10 month old 40lb neutered male. He is ALL in for love and attention, like 100% this dog loves hard. He has never met a stranger and still believes he should greet you with a bear hug and also should be a lap dog- because why not? A day in the life of Benny: he will wade in the pool but not much of a swimmer. Next on his agenda: he will chase a ball but might get distracted by something else exciting in the yard. He likes structure, but not necessarily following the rules (he's a smart one). Like he puts his paws on the counter to get a better vantage point- whatcha doing? He is a vocal guy- barks to come inside if you accidentally leave him outside to potty too long, barks when let out of the crate because he's excited to see you, barks when put in the crate, play barks with his foster dog family. He is not a watch dog, however, because he wouldn't dare bark at the delivery guy unless the other dogs convince him to do so. Remember he just wants to give that guy a hug. Benny is completely housebroken, chooses toys over furniture but might carry around a shoe if left out. This guy has done great with his crate training. He crates when left alone and may bark a little but a chew bone keeps him busy. He sleeps up to 11 hours in a crate in the room with his human and dog family. Benny walks great on a leash after he shakes out the first minute of excitement for going on a walk. His exhuberance for life might be a bit overwelming for younger kids or cats- so we recommend that his fur-ever home has experienced dog owners. Benny currently loves playing with the younger dog in his foster home (respects boundaries of the senior dogs) and would love a playmate who matches his energy. What does that look like? Well right now its octane levels of chase through the yard and house where he might scale some furniture, then hit the floor with bitey face wrestlemania, toss a hard bone in the air for attention and then crash out at your feet when done. So you might ask- does BIG ENERGY Benny have an off switch? Yes! He loves to snuggle up on the couch (or your feet) after he burns off his desire for action. He will put his head in your lap for an entire first half of a football game just to be with his people. If you are thinking about bringing Benny into your family here's what we would love for you to consider: Are you ready to implement obedience training to streamline his puppy behavior (jumping, paws on counter)? Are you willing to have slow introductions with a pet at home to ensure they enjoy each others energy? Are you able to spend time daily with activity, social and mental interaction to help him thrive? If this in-your-face ridiculously handsome boy is calling your name then it's time to submit an application so Benny can run into the arms of his forever family. I mean, his picture on your holiday cards is screaming AWWEEE. Benny is currently fostered in the DFW metroplex and will require a meet and greet. All applications may be submitted though our website: www.bcrrt.com

Story
Prim(Rose), affectionately known as Prim, is a vibrant, young, healthy, spayed, border collie mix with a heart full of love and a mind sharp as a tack. At just shy of one year old, Prim is a bundle of energy and intelligence, showcasing the strong herding instincts that her breed is renowned for. Though she may be on the smaller side, what Prim lacks in size, she more than makes up for in spirit and agility. Prim thrives on engagement and loves to put her brilliant mind to work, making her an ideal companion for an active family that can provide her with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. Her keen intelligence means she’s a quick learner, eager to please, and ready to take on any challenge—whether it’s learning new tricks, navigating agility courses, or going on adventurous hikes. While Prim adores human companionship, her strong herding instincts make her choosey about her canine friends. While Prim loves wrestling with her doggy friends, she is not a fan of sharing any of her toys.  She would do best in a home without other dogs or with a very confident dog who can match her energy and leadership. This will allow Prim to shine as the loving and loyal companion she is meant to be, without the stress of navigating complex doggy social dynamics.   Prim is looking for a forever home that understands and appreciates the unique qualities of her breed—a family that is as active and adventurous as she is, ready to explore the world together. With the right guidance and love, Prim will not only be a faithful friend but a true member of the family, bringing joy, laughter, and lots of fun to her new home. If you’re looking for a smart, spirited, and sweet-natured dog to add to your life, Prim(Rose) is waiting to meet you.

Story
Meet Scout City: The Handsome Hound Looking for His Forever Home! Introducing Scout City, our nearly five-year-old hound mix who's ready to find a loving forever home. Weighing in at a sturdy 87 pounds, Scout is a handsome and friendly boy who has faced a lot in his life but remains full of love and loyalty. Scout was born in our care in 2019 after his mom was brought to the shelter. Sadly, his mom couldn't leave the shelter due to protocol and contracted distemper, leaving Scout as the sole survivor of his litter. Adopted as a puppy, Scout's journey took a tough turn when he was abandoned by his adopter at the shelter following a breakup. Since then, Scout has been living in boarding, waiting patiently for his chance at a stable, loving home. Scout can be a little timid in new situations, but once he relaxes, his whole face lights up with joy. He loves toys and treats, and his happy-go-lucky nature makes him a delightful family dog. Scout does well with other dogs and enjoys both playing with canine friends and having quiet time by himself. This speckled dude is one of our favorites. He's a large, good-looking guy with a heart full of love to give. Although he has some separation anxiety, Scout's friendly disposition and desire to be a loyal companion make him a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him the time and understanding he needs. Scout is looking for a forever home where he can finally experience the stability and love he deserves. If you're searching for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, Scout is your guy. Adopt Scout City today and give him the forever home he's been dreaming of! Story
Meet Tyson — The Comeback Kid with Three Legs and a Heart Full of Love! Tyson’s story started with heartbreak but has become one of pure resilience and love. Found abandoned in a park at just 13 weeks old, Tyson had already endured more than most dogs do in a lifetime. He was badly injured and missing half of one leg. Despite the odds, this brave boy made an incredible recovery — and while his leg had to be amputated, it never slowed him down one hop! Tyson was adopted into a loving home, but after five wonderful years, his family’s circumstances changed, and they could no longer give him the time and attention he deserves. He’s now looking for a new forever family who can match his energy, love, and zest for life. He is around 60 lbs, a great Pyrenees/heeler mix. He would do best in home with no small children. He is a beautiful boy! Tyson is affectionate, playful, and endlessly loyal. He adores cuddles, naps on the couch, and just being near his people. He’s truly the definition of unstoppable — a reminder that life’s challenges can’t hold back a loving heart. Tyson would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family’s daily life, soak up attention, and enjoy walks or playtime (three legs and all, he keeps up just fine!).

Story
Meet Fella: The Distinguished Gentleman with a Goofy Side! Say hello to Fella, our big, beautiful, and well-marked boy who's always ready for a game of fetch! At seven years old and weighing in at a solid 80 pounds, Fella is quite the distinguished gentleman. He's got a heart full of love and a playful spirit that will bring endless joy to your life. Fella is all about that ball life-he loves to play until your arm hurts! He knows all his basic commands and works well on a leash, making him a delight to take on walks and adventures. With a few treats and some minutes, he'll entertain you with rollovers, shakes, and quickly learn new tricks. This sweet-faced boy, with his adorable freckles, is well-behaved and gets along with other dogs and people. While he's not a fan of cats, Fella is all about making human friends, even if he plays it cool at first. Underneath his reserved exterior, you'll find a goofy side and a loyal heart that will warm up to you in no time. Making new dog friends isn't always easy for Fella, as his big, strong presence can be a bit intimidating at first. However, he's lived in a home with other dogs before being surrendered to the shelter, and with proper introductions and decompression, he would do great as part of a pack. Fella loves car rides, enjoys good walks, and is a fantastic hiker and runner. He recently went in for photographs and made himself right at home in the studio, showcasing his love for belly rubs and the comfort of a home. Fella is looking for a foster or adopter who can promise to be a good friend to him, and he promises to be a sweet, loyal companion. If you're looking for a distinguished gentleman with a playful side, Fella is your guy. Adopt or foster Fella today and let this charming boy become a beloved member of your family!
