Story
Meet Chelsea! A spirited three-year-old Kelpie/Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix currently in Denver, CO, whose tricolor coat comes wrapped around an adventurous athlete, devoted cuddle buddy, and exceptionally clever companion. At about 45 pounds, Chelsea has the makings of a four-legged Olympian! She loves balls, tug, fetch, swimming, car rides, and just about any adventure where she can stretch her legs and put that busy brain to work. She has even taken a few flights! Give Chelsea at least an hour of daily exercise, mental enrichment, training, and a dependable routine, and she is ready to be your enthusiastic teammate. After the action, Chelsea knows how to switch gears. She settles beautifully, enjoys lounging in the sunshine, rarely barks, and loves cuddling with her favorite people. In fact, multiple pet sitters have said she is the easiest dog they have ever watched, which says a lot about how nicely she settles into a routine! She is crate-trained, house-trained, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and wonderfully cooperative at the vet. This smart girl already knows an impressive collection of cues, including sit, stay, leave it, drop it, back up, and several others! Chelsea thrives with structure and bonds deeply through activity, training, and routine. On walks, she can pull or become very excited around some dogs, sometimes lunging or spinning. Consistent positive reinforcement and giving her space from passing dogs help her succeed. While Chelsea enjoys one-on-one play with many dogs, large groups, excessive barking, doggie daycare, and dog parks can make her uneasy. Smaller, quieter canine companions may be more comfortable company. Her compatibility with cats has not been fully assessed, particularly because she may chase outdoor cats and other small animals. Calm, respectful older children are a good match. A secure yard with a 5- to 6-foot fence would give this speedy athlete room to move safely. Off-leash adventures should wait until her recall has received additional training, especially with tempting bunnies nearby! Chelsea needs an active, dog-savvy family or individual ready to combine adventures with affection, guidance, and plenty of snuggle time! Could Chelsea be the clever, loving adventure buddy you have been waiting to meet? To learn more about adopting Chelsea, contact adopt@joyfulpets.com. SWEET SWEET SWEET! Found as a stray dumped in the country. Amazingly, Finn has a great temperament and has been evaluated by an accredited behaviorist. He passed all his tests with flying colors. We are happy to share her evaluation with any prospective family. Finn is about 3 years old, neutered, current on vaccinations, hw negative and microchipped. He is learning about toys in his foster home and how to live inside. Finn LOVES people! He kissed the vet, the tech, and everyone in the waiting room at the vet clinic. Finn is very smart and catches on quickly to what you are teaching him. He will make a fabulous addition to the right family. Story
A bit nervous at first. Likes to snuggle once she gets to know you. Loves "Easy Cheese"! Super high energy, dances around on her back legs. Potty trained. Knows sit, paw, and good on a leash. Luna is currently in a foster home. She doesnt like to be touch in the face so she will do better in a home with older kids. She can still be met with and adopted, but by appointment only. Please call the shelter at 972-744-4480 for more information! Call the shelter at 972-744-4480 or email AskRichardsonAnimalServices@cor.gov to learn more.September 17, 2026, 11:25 am

Story
Meet Tallie, a sweet and gentle girl who is just looking for someone to show her that the world isn't such a scary place. While she can be a little shy at first, once she feels safe, her loving personality begins to shine. She enjoys relaxing indoors, staying close to her people, and soaking up gentle pets and affection. Tallie is treat-motivated, takes treats gently, and has been calm and unbothered during the few interactions she's had with other animals. She's still gaining confidence outside and can be nervous around cars and unfamiliar noises, so she'll thrive with a patient adopter who will let her adjust at her own pace. A quiet home and a consistent routine will help her continue to blossom. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Tallie may be the perfect match. Watching her become more confident each day has been incredibly rewarding, and she's ready to find a forever family who will love her for the wonderful dog she it. Story
Maggie may have spent time on her own, but she’s off to a great start getting to know all her new friends. She’s met both big dogs and little dogs, and even when her curiosity gets the best of her, she takes a cue from her new friends. Cats will keep her amused, even if they are uninterested in her. She knows how to walk on her leash, sleep in her crate, and take care of business outside. She’s played well with young children, but she can benefit from the loving guidance of adults to help her become more confident. She’ll learn from a family who wants to help her become her best self. In her eyes, you’re everything! Maggie has plenty of energy and loves going for walks. She loves toys, catching a ball, and playing tug. For a family with lots of love to offer to her, she’ll steal your heart, and you’ll love her anyway!
