Story
Meet Pixel Paws Pixel Paws is a 7-year-old spayed Border Collie, about 69 pounds, with a wise-girl vibe and just enough spunk left to keep things interesting. She’s available for adoption now, and her adoption fee is waived.Pixel moves a little differently these days—she favors her front leg and has an old injury that’s left that side weaker and a bit stiff. Because of that, she’s more “easy strolls and sunny naps” than “zoomies and agility course.”She’s looking for a chill, comfy home where she can take life at her own pace, enjoy soft beds, and soak up the good stuff without too much strain.Pixel Paws is proof that a dog doesn’t need perfect joints to have a perfect heart.

SWEET SWEET SWEET! Found as a stray dumped in the country. Amazingly, Finn has a great temperament and has been evaluated by an accredited behaviorist. He passed all his tests with flying colors. We are happy to share her evaluation with any prospective family. Finn is about 3 years old, neutered, current on vaccinations, hw negative and microchipped. He is learning about toys in his foster home and how to live inside. Finn LOVES people! He kissed the vet, the tech, and everyone in the waiting room at the vet clinic. Finn is very smart and catches on quickly to what you are teaching him. He will make a fabulous addition to the right family. Story
Meet Jasper! A soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix currently in Colorado Springs, CO, whose calm, loving heart is wrapped in a stunning 70-pound merle coat. With the gentle spirit of a wise old friend and the quiet loyalty of a true companion, Jasper is the kind of dog who will melt into your side on a cozy evening and follow you room to room just to be close. Jasper thrives in peaceful surroundings and forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people. He does well around children and enjoys their company, but he would do best with calm or older kids who understand boundaries and know how to treat him gently. Loud or high-energy play can make him uneasy, so a respectful home environment will help him feel safe and content. He’s a mellow guy who doesn’t need much to be happy: a soft spot to relax, the comforting presence of his caregiver, and maybe a treat puzzle or two to keep his brain engaged. Food-motivated and clever, Jasper knows a delightful list of commands like sit, stay, paw, spin, and even “middle”, a trick that’s as cute as it sounds! He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and perfectly content when left alone, making him a great match for someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule. While Jasper doesn’t require intense exercise, he does enjoy slow, sniffy walks where he can take in the world at his own pace. His favorite pastime? Being in the same room as you, soaking up your presence like sunshine! After being involved in two traumatic incidents with unfamiliar dogs, one when he was a puppy and another more recently, Jasper has developed a strong reactivity to dogs he doesn't know. He may bark or lunge when he sees them, especially near fences or in close proximity, and he continues to work through that with training and patient support. That said, he’s done well with familiar dogs in controlled settings, showing that he can feel safe with the right structure and trust. He’s happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard and a caregiver who values companionship, consistency, and quiet. Loud noises can startle him, but with reassurance, he settles easily. Jasper isn’t just a dog, he’s a constant companion, a quiet presence, and a gentle soul waiting for someone to see the beauty in his sensitive heart. If you’re seeking a loyal, low-key friend who will return your care with quiet affection and soulful eyes, Jasper may just be the one waiting to share your next chapter! Story
Meet Inti! A radiant three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie currently in Salida, CO, whose spirit is as expansive as the mountain trails she adores. Wrapped in a striking black and white coat and weighing about 35 pounds, this thoughtful and athletic girl brings together heart, intelligence, and a deep love for her people in a truly special way! Inti is the kind of companion who will eagerly race beside you on a mountain bike, bound joyfully across hiking trails, or splash happily during a swim, then curl up close for a cozy evening of affection. Fetch and frisbee are her absolute favorites, and her enthusiasm is contagious! She also knows an impressive list of commands like sit, shake, spin, and even weaving through your legs, showing off her clever and eager-to-learn nature. What truly sets Inti apart is how deeply she connects with her people, often leaning in for long cuddle sessions and watching your every move with bright, attentive eyes, always ready to join in whatever you are doing. Beneath her adventurous side, she is incredibly affectionate and tuned in to her trusted humans. She thrives with consistency, daily activity, and meaningful connection. When her world feels steady and secure, her loving personality shines. She is compatible with other dogs and even enjoys the company of cats, making her a wonderful companion in the right setting. Inti would flourish in a caring environment with an active, grounded guardian or a small, close-knit household. She can feel unsure around unfamiliar people and, in those moments, may nip when she is feeling protective or uncomfortable. She has nipped in the past, so she benefits from thoughtful introductions, positive reinforcement training, and a lifestyle with fewer unexpected visitors. Inti would be most suitable for a calm home without young children, where she can feel safe and understood. With guidance, patience, and understanding, she continues to grow into her best self. Healthy, spayed, house-trained, and up to date on vaccinations, Inti is ready for her next chapter filled with adventure, trust, and love. She will happily nap when left alone and eagerly greet you when it is time to play again. If you are someone who finds joy in the outdoors and values a deeply connected bond, Inti is ready to share every step, trail, and quiet moment with you! Could Inti be the loyal adventure partner you have been searching for? To learn more or begin the adoption journey, please reach out at adopt@joyfulpets.com. Story
Trenton is a 2-year-old neutered male Heeler/Hound mix with handsome red and white coloring and beautiful speckling that makes him just as unique as his personality. He came from a situation where there were many dogs and limited positive human interaction, so he is still learning how to build confidence and trust with people.Trenton has already made great progress and continues to improve every day. He is starting to seek out human affection more and more, showing just how much he wants to connect—he just needs a little time and patience to fully come out of his shell. Once he feels safe, he has the potential to form a strong and loyal bond with his people. He is doing much better on a leash and has really begun to enjoy going for walks. Walks are becoming a great way for him to build confidence and explore the world at his own pace. He is also very treat-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for training with positive reinforcement.Trenton would do best in a calm home without young children, where the environment is quiet and predictable so he can continue to gain confidence. When meeting other dogs on leash, he has seemed okay with gentle, respectful dogs, but he can show some barrier reactivity and may be selective about his canine companions. Because of this, a meet and greet will be required for any dogs already in the home.Trenton would likely thrive in a house with a secure yard where he can safely explore, stretch his legs, and continue building confidence at his own pace. With the right patient and understanding family, Trenton has all the potential to blossom into a devoted, affectionate companion.

Story
Roo is a 1-year-old spayed female Heeler mix with a gentle spirit who is still learning that the world—and the people in it—can be safe. She came from a situation where she didn’t receive much positive human interaction, so she is understandably unsure and a bit aloof around people right now. Roo is not aggressive; she simply prefers to keep her distance until she feels comfortable.Roo is starting to make progress and is doing better on a leash—she’s even beginning to enjoy going for walks. Walks are becoming a great way for her to build confidence and explore her surroundings at her own pace. While she may be hesitant at first, once you’re able to catch her, she allows you to hold her and love on her, showing that she does have a sweet and affectionate side just waiting to come out. She will need a patient and understanding owner who is committed to socializing her and helping her learn that humans are safe and kind.Because of her sensitive nature, Roo would do best in a calm home without young children, where she can build confidence in a quiet and predictable environment.Roo can show barrier reactivity with other dogs, but when properly introduced to calm, respectful dogs, she has done okay. Because of this, a meet and greet will be required for any dogs already in the home to ensure it’s a good match.Roo would likely thrive in a home with a secure yard where she can explore and decompress while continuing to grow. The family who gives Roo the patience and compassion she needs will get to witness something truly special—the transformation of a shy, uncertain dog into a loyal and devoted companion.*Currently Offsite for Training and Socialization.
