Story
Meet Noctis! Pronounced (knock-tiss) He’s 1 year old as of June and we adopted him from operation kindness in August 2025. We absolutely love him to death but unfortunately our young children just stress him out and we had one incident where he bit our daughter on the cheek. He is great with other dogs and has a lot of energy! We have an elderly dog that he’s brought back to life, which is what makes this decision so much harder. He is part border collie and definitely needs toys and bones to keep him engaged or he may go after your trash can. We had him professionally trained in an attempt to help around our kids so he can come, sit and stay on command. He also knows “place” but we haven’t done the best job enforcing that one. He also knows “quiet” but needs reminders. Noctis is crate trained as well for those that have busy schedules although we usually let him free roam when we are home. We are looking for someone who will love him as much as we do. Any other questions please ask!

SUMO - AVAILABLE for adoption! Apply to adopt at BCRRT.COM! Sumo is an energetic, smart and loving 6.5 year old, 50 lb Border Collie. He loves being pet and laying on the couch with his people. He sleeps in his bed and sometimes likes to hop up in bed with you if you allow such shenanigans! He is great with kids, however sometimes when the energy in the room is very high he will match that energy and start to try and herd the kids. He loves loves loves catching the frisbee. He loves walks and is great on the leash. Sometimes when other dogs walk past he will need to be given a treat and told to sit and pay attention to us because he will want to meet the other dog. He is very treat motivated and loves to eat his food. He is very engaged in whatever is happening around him and will match the energy in the room. He loves to fetch anything. When we have done training time he is 100% plugged in and loves it. Sumo currently lives with a cat and they get along great. Usually Sumo just ignores her but sometimes they will play. Sumo has never hurt her. His ideal home would be one that is ready to open their heart and time to him. He would thrive with an owner that wanted to do agility or other sports or fun trick training. He is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and heartworm negative. He's READY for you!

Story
My name is Sydney and I am a 30 lb, 3 year old Mini Aussie mix, spayed, healthy, athletic, and FUN! I love people, food (all food, especially spinach!), and tennis balls. I also enjoy car rides, going to fun places (especially if you help me not feel overwhelmed by too many stranger dogs), playing fetch (best thing on the planet!), and crushed ice! My Faux Mom and I have been working really hard to get me ready for you! I have nice house manners, and am learning to have nice manners with other dogs. I live with a dog who tolerates my Mini Aussie herding style and the way I alert them to noises and squirrels! My dog friends need to give me a little space, and be OK with sharing all their toys. I eat in my crate so my dog friend doesn’t have to worry that I’ll eat all her food and we can both eat in peace. I sleep through the night in my crate, and am crated when no people are home, and I don’t mind that at all. I’m hoping for a home with a nice yard for ball play (do this enough, and I won’t need a lot of other exercise!) with no small animals (chasing is SO FUN!) and no small children (same reason). I am located in the DFW area of Texas and can’t wait to have a home of my own. Please apply to adopt me at bcrrt.com.

Story
Izzy is a special girl looking for her forever home. She’s full of heart, endless cuddles, fierce loyalty, and pure joy when a tennis ball or her beloved donut toy appears. Izzy may take a little time to warm up, but once you’re hers, you’re hers — her person, her safe place, her whole world. She would thrive in a quiet home with no young children and no other dogs. She’d love an older couple or empty-nest home where she can soak up attention, enjoy calm walks, play a good game of fetch, and then curl up inside with her people. She has a great off-switch and knows when it’s time to relax. She’s 6 years old, 41 lbs, spayed, up to date on vaccines, crate trained (but does well out), walks nicely on leash (strong girl!), rides great in the car, and is located in DFW. Izzy doesn’t need perfect — she just needs hers. If you think that might be you, apply today at BCRRT.COM

Story
Murphy is a handsome 1-year-old neutered male Border Collie with a striking black and white coat, bright intelligent eyes, and a fluffy coat that`s just begging to be petted. This sweet, energetic boy is ready to find a family that can keep up with his adventurous spirit while giving him all the love he deserves.Like many Border Collies, Murphy is an active dog who loves to run, play, and explore the world around him. A home with a securely fenced yard or an active family who enjoys walks, hikes, or outdoor adventures would be the perfect fit for this fun-loving guy. When he`s out on walks, Murphy has great leash manners and enjoys taking his time to stop, sniff, and soak in the scenery.Murphy already knows how to sit on command and is happy to work for tasty treats, making him a great candidate for learning even more. He`s a people-oriented pup who enjoys staying close to his favorite humans and happily leans in for pets and affection whenever he gets the chance. To help Murphy feel secure and set him up for success, we recommend providing him with a crate for sleeping and for times when you`re away from home. Having his own cozy space can give him comfort while also providing peace of mind for his new family. His beautiful fluffy coat will need regular brushing to keep it healthy, soft, and looking its very best, but Murphy is sure to enjoy the extra attention that grooming time brings. If you`re looking for a smart, affectionate, and energetic companion who`s ready to be your adventure buddy by day and your loyal best friend by night, Murphy just might be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet him today—you may just find your new best friend!

Story
Meet Matrix! He is an approximately two year old, 45lbs, male, Heeler/Cattle Dog mix. He was found stray and never reclaimed at the shelter by his owner but is now safe and sound in foster care while he waits for his forever home.  Matrix is one of our Diamond Dogs and has a reduced fee of $125 since he's been looking for his home a little longer than most.  He enjoys the company of people and gets along with other dogs. He's working on learning how to walk on a leash, house training and basic commands. He is full of loving energy and has a silly boy attitude! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure they get along. Matrix would do best in a calm low key home. Matrix is learning what it means to be in a loving and caring home.  He is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and heartworm negative. If you are interested in providing a loving home for Matrix, please apply online we'll be in touch.   Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. So, please check out Margot too if you are interested in this sweet girl.Amber lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone. The girls sleep and eat in the same kennel and love to cuddle together. Amber has good house manners and is crate trained. Story
Meet Abby!  She is a 6-year-old, 55 lb. Heeler who was a service dog before being surrendered due to unfortunate circumstances. She's now resting comfortably in foster care while she waits for her next adventure. Abby is house and crate trained, and great with kids, cats, and other dogs. She loves being on the couch and following her people around everywhere.  The most important thing in the world to Abby is her tennis ball. She loves to play with it by herself, bouncing it up and down on the ground to catch it again and again. She is a very happy girl with an outgoing and affectionate personality. Considering her breed, Abby is very laid back. Abby is now spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is also on prevention for heartworms, fleas, and ticks. If you're interested in adding this very well-mannered girl to your family, please apply online. Her adoption fee is $275.  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted.
