Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:10Milina – Playful, Enthusiastic with Goofy “Panda Ears” Milina is a 2.5-year-old Boxer / American Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing about 67 pounds. She’s lively spirited and enjoys sniffing and activities with her people. Curious explorer: Milina pulls on leash, but gradually settles as she sniffs and explores. She’s still working on her leash manners and will benefit from continued practice. Affectionate with people: She sits politely for treats and takes them gently. Milina enjoys “drive-by” pets but will also pause to soak up attention. Playful energy: After a good round of pets, she may burst into joyful zoomies, showing off her fun-loving personality. Dog interactions: Milina may become excited when she sees other dogs and would benefit from thoughtful guidance. Milina would thrive in a home that offers exercise, structure, and plenty of affection. She’d do well in a multi-dog home or as the only dog with well-matched canine friends.March 6, 2026, 10:17 am

Story
Grayson is a big, white hunk of love! He is the biggest love bug and cuddly boy you will ever meet. He is a licking machine and will try to give you kisses any chance he gets. And don’t be deceived by his size, all 63lbs of this affectionate boxer boy loves to cuddle and act like he’s small enough to be a lap dog. He will play ball, go for walks/hikes, jog with you, or play in the backyard. He’s also a chill boy in the house and will lay in his bed or cuddle with you in yours. He can be active outside and mellow inside, best of both worlds! He loves going on outings and gets excited to go for car rides. Grayson is the ultimate adventure buddy and is always up for anything! Grayson does get a little anxious when left alone and would prefer someone who can hangout with him most of the day and take him on fun adventures! He is very food motivated so you cannot leave him unattended in a room with food or he will find it (and eat it lol)! Grayson loves all people, including kids, and would be a great addition to any family. He can be jumpy when he gets excited, so dog savvy children would be better for him. Grayson does get along with some dogs but can be reactive with others. He is mostly reactive when on the leash but if out in a yard he is very playful and friendly with dogs. We have found that he is great with small dogs male or female! He is a very good playmate and friend to the resident small female dog that lives with him. He can be selective when it comes to bigger male dogs. Overall, Grayson could thrive in a home without other dogs, with small dogs, or with dogs who are submissive. If you think Grayson could be a good fit for you, please apply online to meet him. He is awaiting his forever home that will embrace his loving, goofy self!

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereMarge is a 1-year-old, 47-pound terrier mix with a lot of love. This sweet girl recently finished raising her puppies and is now ready to be someone’s baby herself! She greets everyone with a wagging tail, and she’s always eager for attention (she’s working on keeping all four paws on the ground). Still very much a puppy at heart, Marge enjoys playtime just as much as cuddle time. She loves playing fetch and then settling in for long snuggle sessions with her people. She already knows basic cues like sit, stay, and off, and she’ll thrive with positive, reward-based training, especially to polish up her leash manners. Marge is friendly and playful with other dogs. She enjoys high-energy, wrestle-style play and could do well in a home with like-minded canine companions, but she’d also be happy as a solo dog with dog friends.  Sweet, affectionate, and full of joy, Marge is ready to help you start the new year! Follow her in foster with @foster_fandi_oas on Instagram, and click here to learn how to adopt and submit your adoption questionnaire.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Italians fostering doggos in SF (@foster_fandi_oas)  February 23, 2026, 2:01 pm

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog I:5Meet Tay, a 2-year-old, 78-pound pittie mix with a gentle soul and a goofy streak just starting to shine. She seemed a little stoic at first, but with time and space she has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who loves pets, gives kisses, and shows off her adorable, silly side when chasing tennis balls. Tay walks nicely on leash, knows how to sit, takes treats with a soft mouth, and is tolerant of handling, including baths and nail trims. Volunteers have loved watching her confidence grow and seeing just how loving she can be once she feels safe. Around other dogs, Tay tends to keep to herself and move away if she feels unsure. When comfortable, she enjoys chase-style play. She would do best either as a solo dog or with a well-matched canine companion. Tay is looking for a patient home that will let her decompress at her own pace. In return, you’ll get a sweet and seriously lovable best friend.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (@oaklandanimalservices) March 2, 2026, 1:56 pm

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:14Hippo – Happy-Go-Lucky Snuggle Buddy Hippo is a 3-year-old, 68-pound Pit Bull Terrier mix. Equal parts cuddly companion and playful goofball, he thrives on human connection and positive interaction. Leash manners: Pulls rather strongly with excitement but is motivated to work on his leash manners with yummy treats. Affection lover: Extremely friendly and eager for attention—Hippo happily snuggles in for pets and head scratches, though he may get a little bouncy when excitement builds. Treat-motivated learner: Checks in with his handler for treats, responds well to “sit,” and takes treats gently. People-focused companion: Greets people enthusiastically and stays close with hopeful eyes, enjoying the engagement. Playful moments: Shows occasional interest in tennis balls, happily chasing one and carrying it proudly. Hippo showed no reactivity toward nearby dogs and would do best with appropriately matched canine friends or as a solo dog with social dog buddies.March 2, 2026, 3:25 pm
