Story
Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.
She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.
Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Ella is a great dog looking for a home where she is loved and cherished. Would you be the one for her?" Ella is now being fostered in Oakland, CA and her adoption fee is $275.00 Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great gal or for an application to adopt.

Story
Introducing Lenny, THE wiggly wonder of the canine world! This Boxer boy is still in the early chapters of his puppyhood saga, likely clocking in under a year old. Picture a walking, bouncy ball of sunshine, with enough joy to light up a whole neighborhood. Lenny's got a heart of gold and a penchant for clowning around that could rival any circus act. But don't let his goofball persona fool you—underneath all that wiggly charm lies a smart and sensitive side. A firm "hey" or "no" is like hitting pause on his puppy antics, as he's quick to tune in and heed your guidance. Housebroken and crate trained like a seasoned pro, Lenny's already mastered the art of sitting, and he's eagerly working on expanding his repertoire with commands like down and paw. Plus, he's got that classic Boxer trait of getting along swimmingly with every living creature he meets. If you're ready to add some laughter, love, and a whole lot of wiggles to your life, hop on over to gobeyondrescue.org and fill out an application to make Lenny the newest star of your family's show!

King Boy is a loving 4 year old Dog. He’s very sensitive to your needs, he’s always willing to lay down near you for support . He loves the dog park but plays better with small dogs because he thinks he’s small too. We have to rehome him due to our granddaughter’s allergies. We want him to find a forever home where he can be his silly self.

Hi, I`m Chapo, a soulful, gentle fella with a big heart who will always be your loyal companion. I`m a mellow guy, so low-key walks where I can sniff around and explore suit me just fine. With my calm presence, affectionate nature and affinity for relaxing, I would make an awesome addition to any household.

Story
Foster or adopter needed! Rocky is an affectionate, gentle and calm cuddle bug. He is friendly with all people and gets along with dogs, big and small. In fact, his best playmate is a small poodle. He has a playful streak, but is on the mellow side. Rocky was so malnourished when he went to the shelter that he was all skin and bones. We think his past life was pretty rough, but that hasn't affected his gentle demeanor at all. He is quick to trust and love. Rocky is neutered, current on shots, and microchipped. He has some separation anxiety so would do best with a family who is home often or who is willing to work with him to ease his anxiety. He will make the sweetest companion. Rocky is currently being boarded in a kennel but will soon be displaced as the kennel is shutting down. He needs a home urgently, whether it be a foster or adopter. ** This is a courtesy listing. If you’d like to meet Rocky, please contact Martina Animal Rescue at martinaanimalrescue@yahoo.com or text Desiree at (510) 575-5086. He is located in Walnut Creek, CA. **

Story
Video: https://youtu.be/LHRAJJ-SV6U More videos of Meri in her foster home: https://tinyurl.com/4w3ywfee Meri is just about the gentlest, most docile, dog you'll ever meet. Her quiet, unassuming demeanor and loyal nature will pull at your heartstrings. She doesn't ask for much and isn't pushy at all. She's content to simply be by your side. She'll follow you around the house, lay her head against your lap, gaze at you adoringly with her tail gently wagging, and give you soft kisses. She is the epitome of a faithful, devoted companion. Meri lived at the county shelter for over 6 months and was a volunteer favorite with her soft sweetness. How she survived in such harsh conditions with her ability to love unscathed speaks volumes about her temperament. As a large, black dog, she was easily overlooked by adopters. But those who spent even a little time with her could see what a rare gem this girl is. Meri is crate-trained, rides calmly in the car, walks well on leash, knows commands such as "sit," "down," "shake" and "stay," and is responsive to even soft voice correction. Meri is a mellow, calm and well-behaved girl in the house. She doesn't beg for food, waits nicely to enter a doorway, takes treats gently, isn't mouthy, whiny or a nuisance barker, and is very respectful of personal space. She is a sensitive and soft soul. She adores people and greets everybody who comes to the house with gentle affection. Meri is still working on house training. Given how long she was trapped in a kennel at the shelter, with nobody to take her outside regularly, it may take some time for her to become familiar with a new routine. She also has a fear of baths and water nozzles, something we believe developed while at the shelter, so we towel wipe and dry bathe her when needed. Meri is fear-reactive with dogs she sees on walks, particularly if they are walking in her direction. We have been working with her under the guidance of a behaviorist and have already seen improvement, but her new family would need to continue with training. While we were told by the shelter that she had to be an only dog because of her fear-reactivity, we were able to slowly introduce her to our other foster dog over the course of several days. They now live and play together. Meri is estimated to be about 7 years old and weighs approx 75 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and current on shots. Meri is currently being fostered in PLEASANT HILL. She's been through a lot and we are determined that she'll have the best life going forward, so application, adoption fee & homecheck will apply. Meri is just the sweetest girl and will make you feel like you're the most special person in the world. ** Interested in becoming a co-foster parent?
