Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.   She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.   Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Babe Lincoln was adopted from the Contra Costa Animal Shelter. He walked right up to my partner and me and threw himself down on our feet to receive some loving. It was love at first sight. He is about 3 years old and loves to play, fetch, swim, and snuggle. Everyone that meets him instantly falls in love with him. He is a very happy and goofy boy. He loves to be pet and loves to give kisses. He enjoys swimming at the beach or in a pool. He is great at fetch, although he is still learning to surrender the ball. He is great on a leash and rarely pulls, even when other dogs are present. He is a people dog and gets along with all the dogs he has come into contact with. He does great off-leash at the park and on hiking trails. The best home would be one where he is the only dog, but not required, he is currently 1 of 3. He will need someone who can give him regular exercise like a daily walk, but loves to cuddle and be a slug.
