Story
Grayson is a big, white hunk of love! He is the biggest love bug and cuddly boy you will ever meet. He is a licking machine and will try to give you kisses any chance he gets. And don’t be deceived by his size, all 73 lbs. of this affectionate boxer boy loves to cuddle and act like he’s small enough to be a lap dog. He will play ball, go for walks/hikes, jog with you, or play in the backyard. He’s also a chill boy in the house and will lay in his bed or cuddle with you in yours. He can be active outside and mellow inside, best of both worlds! He loves going on outings and gets excited to go for car rides. Grayson is the ultimate adventure buddy and is always up for anything! Grayson does get a little anxious when left alone and would prefer someone who can hangout with him most of the day and take him on fun adventures! He is very food motivated so you cannot leave him unattended in a room with food or he will find it (and eat it lol)! Grayson loves all people, including kids, and would be a great addition to any family. He can be jumpy when he gets excited, so dog savvy children would be better for him. Grayson does get along with some dogs but can be reactive with others. He is mostly reactive when on the leash but if out in a yard he is very playful and friendly with dogs. We have found that he is great with small dogs male or female! He is a very good playmate and friend to the resident small female dog that lives with him. He can be selective when it comes to bigger male dogs. Overall, Grayson could thrive in a home without other dogs, with small dogs, with dogs who are submissive, or as an only dog. If you think Grayson could be a good fit for you, please apply online to meet him. He is awaiting his forever home that will embrace his loving, goofy self!

Story
Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.
She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.
Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Ella is a great dog looking for a home where she is loved and cherished. Would you be the one for her?" Ella is now being fostered in Oakland, CA and her adoption fee is $275.00 Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great gal or for an application to adopt.

NOTE:Submit the adoption interest application directly at our HSNB website:https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-applicationWe may not receive anything submitted through PetFinder or Adopt-A-Pet! If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org . -----Barkley is a 3+ year old brindle American Bully mix with a lot to say-and no hesitation about saying it. Now that he's healthy and feeling good, he's developed opinions about just about everything, and if something isn't going his way, expect a soundtrack of grumbles and barks to go along with it (especially at bath time!). He's not trying to be difficult-he's just a very expressive guy who hasn't quite learned when to keep those thoughts to himself. He can also get a little carried away when he's excited. Barkley is a jumper, a wiggle machine, and a full-body greeter when he sees his people. If he gets overstimulated, he may mouth at you-not bite, just an overenthusiastic way of interacting that he'll need help learning to tone down. He's going to need structure, consistency, and someone committed to continuing his training so he can channel all that energy in better ways. But there's another side to Barkley, too. Underneath the cranky commentary and big reactions is a dog who really loves his people. He has absolutely no concept of personal space and will happily climb right into your lap-or directly on top of you-just to be close. It's not graceful, but it's very sincere. His fosters have jokingly said that "his love is aggressive" and they "can't tell if he's brilliant or a complete knucklehead".Barkley didn't have an easy start. He came into the shelter emaciated and weak, but thanks to time in foster care, he's now strong, healthy, and ready for a fresh start. Through it all, he's shown how smart he is and how much he wants to please. With the right guidance, he has all the tools to become a fantastic companion. He does well with most dogs and has even shown impressive patience with his foster's very cranky cat, who regularly slaps him just for existing nearby. Barkley takes it all in stride. He's not a "plug and play" dog-he's a work in progress with a big personality and big feelings-but for someone willing to put in the time, Barkley is going to be a deeply loyal, endlessly entertaining, and very loving companion.I need someone who understands I am strong and still need ongoing training support but I am a super awesome doggo - won't you let me show you?https://youtube.com/shorts/CAP7FkzpX8EBarkley's adoption fee is $250 . -----Introducing ... PICASSO! This ultra-handsome Pit Bull Terrier cuddle bug is named after a revolutionary artist but the primary thing that sets this handsome guy apart -- besides his gorgeous blocky black and white painterly fur markings -- are his irresistible kisses! Make sure you have your glasses wipes handy if you wear glasses, because you will end up with some Picasso kisses on your face. Although Picasso is fairly new to the shelter, based on the interactions we've seen at the shelter and at a recent pet-themed festival where he met dozens of new people and dogs, PICASSO is good with other dogs of all sizes and people of all ages. He has not yet been cat-tested. He can be been known to be a bit of an escape artist, but with the right forever home that dedicates plenty of time to giving this guy all the exercise and play time and constructive training this young, active dog needs, we believe he will make an ideal family companion. Picasso walks well on leash and is just an all-around great dog. He loves to strut his stuff on leash, gets supah goofy in the play yard, but he also loves to roll on his back and get belly rubs and cuddles. Although he did receive lots of love and admiration at the festival, PICASSO has not yet met his forever family. That means he is still available for adoption at Humane Society of the North Bay in Vallejo.
