Story
Grayson is a big, white hunk of love! He is the biggest love bug and cuddly boy you will ever meet. He is a licking machine and will try to give you kisses any chance he gets. And don’t be deceived by his size, all 63lbs of this affectionate boxer boy loves to cuddle and act like he’s small enough to be a lap dog. He will play ball, go for walks/hikes, jog with you, or play in the backyard. He’s also a chill boy in the house and will lay in his bed or cuddle with you in yours. He can be active outside and mellow inside, best of both worlds! He loves going on outings and gets excited to go for car rides. Grayson is the ultimate adventure buddy and is always up for anything! Grayson does get a little anxious when left alone and would prefer someone who can hangout with him most of the day and take him on fun adventures! He is very food motivated so you cannot leave him unattended in a room with food or he will find it (and eat it lol)! Grayson loves all people, including kids, and would be a great addition to any family. He can be jumpy when he gets excited, so dog savvy children would be better for him. Grayson does get along with some dogs but can be reactive with others. He is mostly reactive when on the leash but if out in a yard he is very playful and friendly with dogs. We have found that he is great with small dogs male or female! He is a very good playmate and friend to the resident small female dog that lives with him. He can be selective when it comes to bigger male dogs. Overall, Grayson could thrive in a home without other dogs, with small dogs, or with dogs who are submissive. If you think Grayson could be a good fit for you, please apply online to meet him. He is awaiting his forever home that will embrace his loving, goofy self!

Story
Meet Maple - Our Lovely Golden Girl with a Spark!Maple is a gentle, loving older lady with a heart full of sweetness and a nose that can find a treat from a mile away! Snacks are absolutely the way to her heart - but she also has a delightful amount of pep and enthusiasm for life. This beautiful senior girl may have a calm, kind spirit, but don't let her gray hairs fool you - she has plenty of energy and enjoys lively walks, exploring the world with a happy tail, and engaging with her people. After her adventures, she's equally content to settle in for cozy naps and soak up affection. Maple came to us with a mammary tumor that was removed during her stay in our care. While testing showed that it had likely already metastasized, she currently shows no signs of illness. Her expected survival could be two years or more - but even if her time may be somewhat shorter, that only makes it more important that she find her forever home soon, with someone who will cherish her golden days. Maple is a "Pawspice" adoption, meaning the East Bay SPCA will provide specific ongoing support for her care going forward. Come meet this lovely, spirited girl to learn more and see if she's the one who'll brighten your home. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 72 Age: 8yrs 3mths 2wks

Story
Poppy was a puppy of 10 in her litter. My granddaughter came to me and asked if I could please take one because the owner was going to euthanize all the puppies. I agreed to take Poppy. Poppy turned out to be way bigger and more dog than I could handle at 71 years old with medical issues and a bad back. She is loving, she wants to be by you all the time, she wants to cuddle, she knows how to sit and stay and take a treat nicely I just need her to be able to run and play and live the life that she deserves She runs in my front yard with a 4 foot chain-link fence, but she now knows how to jump over it, and I cannot contain her in the yard She’s a dog that needs to exercise or be walked, and I cannot do that. Poppy is very loyal. She is by my side 100% of the time. She just needs the love and exercise that she craves. Poppy even watches football. Niners here! Please, somebody give her the life that she needs I’m still very much in need of a home for Poppy. Please consider her.12/22

Story
Travis will be 6 years old 6/2026. He's very energetic, playful and loving, he truly gives the best hugs! He minds quite well and will sit on command to have his leash put on. He would be a good candidate for the gentle lead harness as he pulls without it. He has a big prey drive, so a home with cats would not be a good fit. Where he currently lives is a very busy street, sadly he's a bit overstimulated here. He seems to be sensitive to two wheeled rides: motorcycles, e-bikes, bicycles & skateboards. I believe it's the sounds he's sensitive to. A DNA test was done on him, he is 65% Pitbull & 35% Old English Sheepdog My sister adopted him 3/2024 had a stroke 7/2024 and just had a second one 1/2026 and is on Hospice. She is no longer able to care for him, nor am I. Thank you for considering this wonderful boy!

Story
Once in a pretty while Calpaws gets a pretty pittie. I’m the pretty pittie girl you’ve been hearing about… well… not hearing about, because I don’t actually hear but I see everything!  I’m just a puppy and already a total superstar. I sleep all night in my crate like a perfect little angel, and I’m about 95% house trained (which I think deserves extra treats, just saying). My favorite things are people, all of them, chew toys, playing ball, and making new dog friends. If you have hands for pets or a ball to throw, we’re already besties. I’m still learning leash walking, but I’m a fast learner because I love looking at my humans for guidance. I keep excellent eye contact and I’m always checking in like, “Am I doing good? Are you proud? Is it snack time yet?” I have normal puppy nibbling when I play and those silly bursts of zoomie energy that make everyone laugh. Oh! And something extra special about me if you didn't catch it yet, I’m hearing impaired. But I didn’t get the memo that this was supposed to slow me down. I already know my “sit” hand sign and I’m amazing at watching faces and hands. Training with me is like our own secret language, and honestly, it just makes us closer. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, affectionate best friend who will watch you like you hung the moon and celebrate every little “good girl” moment… I’m right here, ready to love you with my whole wiggly self.  ##2637001##
