Story
Meet Cricket — sweet to her core and enough energy to recharge a battery. She needs lots of love and even more attention! She loves to play and enjoys the outdoors like it’s her home. Gets along well with people and other animals - she’s a true social butterfly. So, if you already have another dog then this would be a good fit, she needs company so the more the merrier! Ideally, she needs to have a stay at home parent or someone that can be with her regularly, as she does have severe separation anxiety. Cricket needs someone with a lot patience, love and that can provide her with good training. She’s still just a growing pup, so she’s in the process of learning now. Smart girl and is very capable of training, but like most pups she needs to get out her chewies and her zoomies! She truly is a sweetheart and will lick you until you actually tell her to stop. Her playful nature is so fun to be around and she loves any kind of dog toy and chewing on her bones. At the end of the day, she loves to curl up next to you, on you, or at your feet. As long as she is close by, she will be flexing that big joyful smile of hers!

Story
Daisy is ready for her next chapter! -3 years old (est.) -62 pounds -Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped -Very dog friendly, all sizes -Potty trained, crate trained -Shy, derpy, goofy, innocent, playful, preciously sweet and lovely PERSONALITY: Daisy is such a beautifully innocent soul. Though very very shy at first, there is not a mean bone in her body. She is goofy and derpy like a boxer when she warms up. She is true innocent bliss mixed with derpy goofball. Daisy just needs someone to give her grace and a little time to settle in, warm up so they can see her true beautiful personality too. FAV THINGS: Daisy enjoys playing with dogs, collecting nylabones in her dog bed (she's topped out at around 20), stealing slippers or shoes if the opportunity presents (oopsies- she's learning), seeking gentle affection from her people, and playing with her people in the yard. DOGS: Daisy best thrives with another dog in the home. She really, really enjoys their companionship and comfort, and follows their lead for confidence. She also *loves* playing with other playful dogs. She has done beautifully with every dog she has met from dominant/alpha female type, to submissive playful, from 6lb puppies to 70lb adults. CATS: Unknown. Daisy has not met cats, besides out free with ferals cats at the gym when she was living there. If we were a betting man..... we'd probably bet a kitty swat would send Daisy running for the hills. That is 0% tried and tested. She has NO cat experiences to speak on with us. Daisy is just so uber submissive, absolutely zero observed prey drive, and liable to be afraid of her own shadow we just cant see her not being put in her place by a cat. The only way to know though is slow and proper intros over time living with them. KIDS: No kid experience, though probably best only older kids as she is so shy at first and such a flight risk. TRAINING: Potty trained. Crate trained- sleeps peacefully in her crate over night and while humans are gone. HISTORY: Daisy lived in the parking lot of a gym from around March 2025 until capture January 2026. Everyone cared for her and loved her, she was basically the gym mascot its just that no one could catch her. No owner ever came forward and her history prior to the gym remains a mystery. NOTE: Daisy will be a FLIGHT RISK starting off. Daisy avoided capture for several months and it is not likely she could be caught again if she escaped. Basic precautionary measures must be taken to ensure she stays safe e.g. not leaving unattended in a yard, watching doors/gates, etc. Simple things that are the difference sometimes in a pet going missing or not. LOCATION: Currently in foster in Jackson, GA. We do a home check with all fosters/adopters, so no need to travel, we will come to you within 2 hours. AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a 2 week commitment-free trial run to make sure things are a fit before sealing the deal and officially adopting. ADOPTION FEE: $150 APPLY TO ADOPT: joyspromise.org/adopt P.S.- If you aren't looking to adopt right now, but still want to help, consider fostering Daisy! Fostering Daisy would expand her socialization and exposure, which would be greatly beneficial to her at this point. Foster: joyspromise.org/foster -- Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. Inquiries on adoption sites is not an application. Your inquiry will not be seen until you complete an actual application at joyspromise.org/adopt

Story
One of the Newton County Animal Shelter advocates was at the shelter when "Mandy" was brought in as an owner surrender. Due to the shelter already being over capacity this sweet baby became urgent the moment that she was surrendered! We stepped in and rescued this sweet girl. We know that she is very dog friendly 🐶🐾🐶 but we aren't sure of cats just yet. She loves all people, big and little. She is a little shy when you first meet her, than she almost immediately warms up within just a few minutes and then becomes the most affectionate, lapdog and coach potato in the world. She is still so young, estimated to be between 2-3years old - so she is beyond all the puppy stages but still has so much life, and love to give!
