Story
Ben is a 2 year old playful boy bursting with energy and joy. At just a couple of years old, he’s in the prime of his life and ready to find a forever family who can keep up with his fun-loving spirit. Ben’s favorite things? Running, playing, and joining in on all the action! His foster family says his energy seems endless, he loves to chase toys, especially soccer balls, and would make the perfect buddy for kids or other dogs who enjoy a good game of backyard fun. While he can keep himself entertained, he’s happiest when he has playmates to join in the excitement. Though we don’t know Ben’s exact breed, his foster family suspects a mix of Boxer, cattle dog, Australian Shepherd, or Blue Heeler, whatever the combination, it gave him plenty of smarts, stamina, and curiosity. Ben is gentle in play, crate trained, and already knows a few commands, but he’s eager to learn more. He’s the kind of dog who would thrive with a “job” or active family who enjoys adventures, training, or outdoor activities. Ben does well with kids and other dogs, though cats remain a bit of a question, he’s curious but unsure. He’s always interested in what everyone is doing, and his happy personality makes him a wonderful companion for families looking for a fun and engaging dog. Ben is heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and on monthly preventatives to keep him healthy and ready for all of life’s adventures.

Story
Meet Harley, the happy black dog everyone keeps overlooking. Harley is an almost 6-year-old Boxer/Pit mix who is basically a Golden Retriever in a Boxer/Pit body. She is happy, wiggly, affectionate, and full of love. She follows her people around, wants to be included in daily life, and has a tail that always seems to be moving. Harley has had no adoption interest, and we can’t help but wonder if people are scrolling past because they see “Boxer/Pit mix” or because she is a mostly black dog. But Harley is not a stereotype. She is not a label. She is a sweet, goofy, loyal love bug who just wants someone to give her a chance. Harley loves being with her humans. She enjoys playtime, walks, attention, and then lounging on a couch, dog bed, or even a human bed if you let her. She is the kind of dog who makes a house feel warmer because she simply wants to be near you. She can get excited when greeting people and may jump a little at first, but she listens well and wants to do the right thing. Harley knows her basic commands and is a proud PetSmart puppy training graduate. She is smart, eager to please, and a fast learner — she just needs someone to guide her and show her what is expected. Harley also takes treats gently. Sometimes she will sniff first and then carefully take the treat from your fingers, which is such a sweet little part of who she is. Harley is looking for someone willing to see past breed bias, black dog bias, and first impressions. Take a chance on her. We truly believe the person who meets Harley will either be so glad they did — or wonder why it took them so long. Harley at a glance: * almost 6 years old * Female Boxer/Pit mix * Happy, wiggly, affectionate love bug * Basically a Golden Retriever in a Boxer/Pit body * Loves being near her humans * Smart and eager to please * Knows basic commands * PetSmart puppy training graduate * Takes treats gently * Can be jumpy when excited but listens well * Loves couches, dog beds, and cozy places * Looking for someone willing to give her a chance 📩 Interested in adopting (or fostering) Harley? Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Meet Chop — a sweet, goofy boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. Chop entered Gwinnett Co shelter in early 2026 after his family was evicted and he was left behind in their former home. They never came to reclaim him, and he spent a few months at the shelter before entering our foster system. However, you would never know that anything bad had ever happened to his sweet, happy boy! Chop has proved to be very adaptable to new situations, and instantly befriends everyone he meets. He has a very gentle, friendly disposition and just wants to be where his people are.  Chop is around 3-5 years old, and while he was a bit underweight at the shelter, he quicky got up to his ideal weight of 56 pounds in foster care. He seems like a bit of a simpleton on account of his goofy smile, but he picked up on basic commands very quickly and has done great with his crate training. This happy guy gets along well with other dogs and has a gentle, easygoing temperament. He is a bit of a velcro dog, and loves affection. While he hasn’t spent much time with kids that we know of, he shows no signs of reactivity or resource guarding and has a naturally soft, submissive personality that suggests he would do well in a family home. However, Chop does seem overly interested in cats and other small animals so he should not live in a home with them -  he becomes very focused and will chase if they run.  Chop is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on prevention. He is ready for a home where he can just be part of the action, continue to learn and finally settle into the love and stability he deserves.  Questions about Chop? ali@doggieharmony.org Interested adopters can apply here: www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption Once an online match is made, caretakers will arrange a preliminary home visit.June 18, 2026, 3:02 pm

Story
Hi! Chopper is a rescue. I’ve had him since he was 4 months. He’s a sweetheart but needs a dog friendly home. He loves to cuddle and knows not to use the bathroom inside but does test that theory at times haha. Unfortunately with grad school, work and parenting, I’m not able to give him the training or comfort he needs. I adopted him from Dekalb county animal services. He’s sprayed and i have all medical records. You’ll get a free large cage , large bed, pads, potty training spray, tick spray and bowl. He teething so he also has chewing toys but does not bite furniture or humans unless playfully. He needs a home with doggy experience to love on him. Currently 38 pounds.

Story
Baby is a sweet sweet sweetie and anyone would be lucky to have her! She is smart and silly and a cuddler and will be the best dog ever for a single dog household with a yard and experienced dog owner ready to train her.She came to me as a foster but I fell in love after 2 months and decided to adopt her. While fostering, she and my other dogs got along great. But over the past couple of months since officially adopting her, my other adult female dog has started getting territorial and they’ve been getting into escalating spats. Their dynamic isn’t improving and it’s become clear that for both of their safety it’s time to separate them. She will continue to need training to keep her stimulated and teach her to live indoors (she was chained up in a yard before the shelter). I will provide her Halo collar to the adopter (she is a fence climber!). I would love to maintain visiting privileges with her if possible. I’m still totally in love with her!

Story
Franklin is a submissive pitty/amstaff mix that loves to chew bones, play with his bestie Walter, lay in a soft bed with his blankie, & matches the vibe in the home. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, & loves his kong. He is crate trained and is crated when no one is home. He is up to date on all his shots, takes Credelio Quattro as his monthly preventative and is a super sweet boy. He has no idea that he is 48 pounds. He loves to climb in your lap to cuddle. He would be a great hiking or walking buddy. He still needs to work on his jumping when he gets excited, but he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. I wish we could keep him but he cannot be around our cats. We adopted him from the shelter & cannot return him there as he would be an owner surrender and go to the top of the euthanasia list. We require a vet check for all interested adopters. He comes with his crate, bed, leash, toys and harness. He is an amazingly sweet dog.
