Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Meet Chop — a sweet, goofy boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. Chop entered Gwinnett Co shelter in early 2026 after his family was evicted and he was left behind in their former home. They never came to reclaim him, and he spent a few months at the shelter before entering our foster system. However, you would never know that anything bad had ever happened to his sweet, happy boy! Chop has proved to be very adaptable to new situations, and instantly befriends everyone he meets. He has a very gentle, friendly disposition and just wants to be where his people are.  Chop is around 3-5 years old, and while he was a bit underweight at the shelter, he quicky got up to his ideal weight of 56 pounds in foster care. He seems like a bit of a simpleton on account of his goofy smile, but he picked up on basic commands very quickly and has done great with his crate training. This happy guy gets along well with other dogs and has a gentle, easygoing temperament. He is a bit of a velcro dog, and loves affection. While he hasn’t spent much time with kids that we know of, he shows no signs of reactivity or resource guarding and has a naturally soft, submissive personality that suggests he would do well in a family home. However, Chop does seem overly interested in cats and other small animals so he should not live in a home with them -  he becomes very focused and will chase if they run.  Chop is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on prevention. He is ready for a home where he can just be part of the action, continue to learn and finally settle into the love and stability he deserves.  Questions about Chop? ali@doggieharmony.org Interested adopters can apply here: www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption Once an online match is made, caretakers will arrange a preliminary home visit.June 11, 2026, 12:52 pm

Story
Dexter is a sweet, goofy 9-year-old Boxer/Pit mix (65 lbs) who’s equal parts couch snuggler and fetch enthusiast. He loves people most of all and would happily trade solo toy time for a human throwing the ball instead—though he’ll entertain himself in a pinch. In a series of bad breaks...Dexter recently got a bit too enthusiastic during backyard ball time and perforated his eye. The vet said it had to go, so he's now got a permanent wink going on. Honestly? We think it makes him look even cuter!   Quick facts about Dexter: 9 years 65 lbs Boxer / Pit bull mix Housetrained & crate trained Neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative Recent dental care completed Good with dogs and kids (older, respectful preferred); no cats Knows sit, stay/wait, come, down, and more Walks well on leash Loves fetch, treats, and snuggles Dexter enjoys canine friends but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. He does best with a fenced yard where he can play fetch and then head inside for a well-earned couch nap. After a day of adventure, he’s all about winding down with his humans and a good Netflix session. Story
Chloe is a loving 7 year old boxer/lab mix looking for an adult only home. She is house and leash trained and healthy. While she enjoys running outside, she is low energy inside the house. She is friendly towards adults and comfortable with get togethers, but takes sometime to warm up to dogs. Once she is familiar with a dog they will be best friends. We are looking to rehome due to our new baby boy. While we dreamed of Chloe growing up with him, we realized we can’t give Chloe the attention she deserves. The lack of a backyard coupled with minimum time to take her on walks is unfair to her. We hope we can find her a loving home with someone that can dedicate more time to her.

Story
Meet Harley, the happy black dog everyone keeps overlooking. Harley is an almost 6-year-old Boxer/Pit mix who is basically a Golden Retriever in a Boxer/Pit body. She is happy, wiggly, affectionate, and full of love. She follows her people around, wants to be included in daily life, and has a tail that always seems to be moving. Harley has had no adoption interest, and we can’t help but wonder if people are scrolling past because they see “Boxer/Pit mix” or because she is a mostly black dog. But Harley is not a stereotype. She is not a label. She is a sweet, goofy, loyal love bug who just wants someone to give her a chance. Harley loves being with her humans. She enjoys playtime, walks, attention, and then lounging on a couch, dog bed, or even a human bed if you let her. She is the kind of dog who makes a house feel warmer because she simply wants to be near you. She can get excited when greeting people and may jump a little at first, but she listens well and wants to do the right thing. Harley knows her basic commands and is a proud PetSmart puppy training graduate. She is smart, eager to please, and a fast learner — she just needs someone to guide her and show her what is expected. Harley also takes treats gently. Sometimes she will sniff first and then carefully take the treat from your fingers, which is such a sweet little part of who she is. Harley is looking for someone willing to see past breed bias, black dog bias, and first impressions. Take a chance on her. We truly believe the person who meets Harley will either be so glad they did — or wonder why it took them so long. Harley at a glance: * almost 6 years old * Female Boxer/Pit mix * Happy, wiggly, affectionate love bug * Basically a Golden Retriever in a Boxer/Pit body * Loves being near her humans * Smart and eager to please * Knows basic commands * PetSmart puppy training graduate * Takes treats gently * Can be jumpy when excited but listens well * Loves couches, dog beds, and cozy places * Looking for someone willing to give her a chance 📩 Interested in adopting (or fostering) Harley? Story
Bean LOVES all people. She is incredibly snuggly and just wants her own people to cuddle on the couch with.Bean is a little bit wrecking ball, a little bit prissy princess, and a lot of perfect pocket pittie couch potato. Will throw herself at her people full of love and kisses, but refuses to go out in the rain and hates being cold. Has spurts of energy but is 90% couch potato. Loves car rides and just wants to be with her people as much as possible. She'd make a GREAT long haul trucker or rv companion, or an apartment or home dog. She's very nearly perfect!1-2 years oldpetite 40-45 pounds.house trainedused to walking on a leashQuickly learning basic commandsLoves toys that she can squeak, chase, and chew; short walks, car rides, and her people.up to date on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and spayed.Dog selective; not cat tested, but cats not recommended due to high prey drive.would do best in a home with no young kids; her play style may be too rough for little ones.
