He needs a little work on basic commands and recall so should not be allowed off-leash. He is very friendly with other dogs but should not be around cats as he hyper-focuses on them and gives chase if they run. Have not assessed with children yet, but has a very gentle, submissive temperament and has shown no signs of resource guarding or reactivity so we believe he would do fine with kids of any age. Picked up as a stray and brought to Gwinnett County AC, but was never reclaimed. Has been in the shelter at least 4 months before we took him home to foster. Shelter staff and volunteers describe him as sweet, playful, and affectionate, but a bit a simpleton :). He's cute! Dexter is a sweet, goofy 9-year-old Boxer/Bulldog mix (65 lbs) who’s equal parts couch snuggler and fetch enthusiast. He loves people most of all and would happily trade solo toy time for a human throwing the ball instead—though he’ll entertain himself in a pinch. In a series of bad breaks...Dexter recently got a bit too enthusiastic during backyard ball time and permeated his eye. The vet said it had to go, so he's now got a permanent wink going on. Honestly? We think it makes him look even cuter! She is friendly towards adults and comfortable with get togethers, but takes sometime to warm up to dogs. Once she is familiar with a dog they will be best friends. Sandy is very kind to humans. She loves pets and very energetic. Unfortunately, my son has developed an allergy to her and we cannot afford her vet bills. Our family suffered from a loss this year and I don’t want her to suffer since we aren’t able to afford her right now. She is turning 9 on May 22. She loves kids and is a sweetheart. She should be in a single pet home because she does not get along with other animals. She is potty trained but will need to visit the vet. I really hope she finds a home that will love and care for her. She is literally a big baby lol.

Buddy was found on the streets in Peachtree City. After a few months of safety with us, he's ready to go to his forever home. Buddy is a couch potato, a cuddle bug, and a very silly boy. When I get out my lap blanket and sit on the couch, he frisks for joy and stretches out on my lap as soon as I'm settled. When it's time to take my husband to work, he stands by the kitchen door and dances his front paws and wiggles into his leash. After a particularly good potty break, he'll sprint at full speed around the yard in random directions. He doesn't seem to like other dogs, but he's fairly well-behaved with the cats. He gets along all right with children, but might not be best suited to living with one. Buddy's favorite thing is a quiet cuddle with his humans. I'm going back to the office soon and would rather not leave him alone all day. If you would like to meet him, I can bring him to visit you or you can come hang out with him in our fenced-in back yard.
