You're in my spot…if you know, you know. 😂🛋️ We can imagine that’s exactly what Huey would say to whoever sits in his spot on the couch. You’re welcome to sit next to him, though. Huey is a hunk of love. Just look at that big block head. He has zero concept of personal space–loves people and wants to be close to them at all times! This 5-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix, weighing about 55 pounds, is filled with love and affection for his people. ❤️ Huey is fully housetrained and sleeps all night quietly in his crate or in ‘his spot’ on the couch. Huey has the perfect amount of energy. He loves to play with his toys 🧸, run around the backyard 🌳, then crash. 💤 He knows sit, kennel, and off. When on a leash, he is a strong dude and wants to keep moving, which causes him to pull. Huey gets along with other dogs with a slow, proper introduction and supervision. When playing with doggie friends, he doesn’t always want to share his toys, so when toys are out, it’s important to be watchful. Other small animals or cats are probably not a good fit for Huey. This big meathead likes kids but gets a bit too happy around them, so older kiddos may be best for him. If you have errands to run, he’d love to go right along with you. 🚗 He promises you can listen to whatever music 🎶 or podcast you want as long as he can stick his nose out the window 🐽 and take in all the new smells. Mr. Huey would do best in a home with people who understand dog cues. He is a couch potato at heart 🛋️🥔, and if someone comes to the door, oh well, he’ll let you get the door. He’s certainly not a guard dog and couldn’t care less if somebody knocks. His foster tells us he’d do best as a solo pet. He thinks it’s fun to go on a walkabout 🐕, so a 6-foot fence is needed. Hi! My name’s Houston. I'm a four-year-old boxer mix boy and kind of a beefcake at around 80 pounds. (I'd argue that it's all muscle, too.) One of the things I want most in a forever home is a human friend to hang out with, not doing anything in particular, just a couple pals spending time together. Wouldn't that be amazing? I'm a little shy at first, but if you'll give me a few minutes to get to know you, we'll be besties. And I promise to be your snuggle pup! Really, though, I’m way too smart to laze around 24/7. I know sit, down, stay, high five, orbit, between, and wait. Learning tricks is one of my favorite activities and I can pick up new ones in just a day or two. I love to run outside and play in water from the hose. In case I wasn't clear enough on that, I LOVE PLAYING IN THE WATER!!!. My favorite game of all is tug of war. (I'll even let you win sometimes!) I’m kennel trained, house trained, and am good at being left alone. In fact, I do some of my best snoozing in my crate while I wait patiently for you to come home. I’d do best in a home with older children because I’m still learning how to contain all my excitement around the little ones. Since I've been looking for a home for a while, I think I'd prefer to be the only doggo so I don't have to share. I’ve got so much love to share and I absolutely cannot wait to meet you!
