Story
Rocky is a 2-and-a-half-year-old boxer mix who likes to ride in the car and is good on a leash. Rocky was released to us due to his owner's poor health. He knows basic commands and is housetrained and crate-trained. He will do best with female dogs. Kids should be at least 6 due to Rocky's size. We don't know how he'll behave with cats. Rocky has tested negative for heartworm, has been neutered, and is current on vaccinations. He currently weighs about 65 pounds. You will receive health records and a bag of Hill's Science Diet pet food upon adoption. Adoption donation $260. Please complete the pre-adoption questionnaire at: https://www.cchspets.com/adoption-pre-qualifier We will contact you via email. Please check your spam/junk folders!

Story
This brave girl, Miss Scarlett, was found outdoors in the cold, caring for her five puppies. It seems that she has had several litters, and it`s likely that her harsh environment contributed to her contracting Lyme disease. Nonetheless, Miss Scarlett has proven to be an extraordinary mother, nurturing her pups with unwavering dedication and love.Miss Scarlett has a healed leg fracture that causes her to have a slight limp, likely resulting from being hit by a car and left to heal on its own. She still bears road rash from the incident, which we affectionately refer to as her `wonky battle scars.` To help alleviate any ongoing discomfort, she will need monthly Librela injections.Despite her multiple litters, Lyme disease, and the way her leg healed, Miss Scarlett remains full of life and is truly an amazing girl, playful and affectionate. She acts as a “helper” in the playgroup, ensuring that all dogs feel welcome.Miss Scarlett deserves to experience the same affection and comfort that she has so selflessly given to her puppies and every dog that crosses her path. She would be a wonderful addition to any home, thriving in the company of other dogs and children. She needs a loving family who will cherish her as she truly deserves.

Story
Meet Gus and Jack! These two are brothers/littermates/twins, and they are very bonded. These two have been together their entire five years (almost 6 their bday is in June!) on earth so I’d really like to keep it that way if at all possible for their mental health! They are almost 6 yr old coonhound/boxer mixes (their bday is in June!) originally adopted from a family down in southern Kentucky about 5 years ago. I am a newly single mom of multiple and wish I could keep these good boys but unfortunately I’ve ended up in a place where I’m not permitted to have them, and to be honest I am struggling to make ends meet so I have to do what’s right for them. I want these boys to go to a good, stable home, preferably with a yard. I’m on the east side of the Cincinnati area and can meet up with you to meet them anywhere in the Cincinnati area!Feel free to text anytime at 859-979-4977

Story
Meet Ava, the sweetest big mixed-breed around! This energetic girl is a true athlete who loves nothing more than running, jumping, and playing a game of fetch. When she`s not tearing across the yard, you can find her engaged in her favorite quirky hobby: chewing on and carrying around large rocks. After a long day of play, Ava transforms into a world-class snuggler and is happiest when cuddling up close. Ava is a sunshine dog through and through; she loves warm weather and avoids the cold. You`ll definitely want to bring her inside when the dark clouds roll in, as she absolutely hates getting rained on! She also loves treats of almost any kind, but as if she couldn`t get any quirkier, she does NOT like peanut butter! If you`re wondering what dog doesn`t like peanut butter, that would be Ava. She is a one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime type of dog. Ava is a fantastic family dog who is great with kids of all ages. Ava has met other dogs in playgroup here at the shelter and has done well, but can be selective about her dog friends, mostly preferring dogs who give her space and time to warm up. If you have children or dogs at home, we encourage you to bring them with you to the shelter for a meet-and-greet if you are interested in adopting. Ava has some basic training, but may need a refresher after her time in the shelter and entering a new home. She is eager to please and has a lot of energy to spend! She is also a powerful chewer, so she needs toys that are tough and can`t be easily destroyed. If this larger-than-life girl sounds like the perfect pup for your family, come visit her at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Story
Jack is a 6-year-old laid-back and lovable boy who arrived with his brother, Gus. With his easygoing personality and gentle nature, Jack is a wonderful companion—especially for families with kids of all ages, as he does great with everyone he meets.Jack was previously crate trained and housebroken in his former home. He may need a brief refresher as he transitions out of the shelter environment, but he has a solid foundation and is ready to get back into a home routine. When it comes to other dogs, Jack tends to be more on the relaxed side. He often ignores other dogs at first but will happily join in playtime when he’s in the mood—especially with his brother Gus, who he loves dearly. He has also done well in doggy daycare settings. At the dog park, Jack’s style is simple: a few zoomies to stretch his legs, followed by soaking up the sun and enjoying the day.Jack has never been around cats, so slow and supervised introductions would be recommended if there are feline friends in the home.If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate dog who enjoys both playtime and relaxation, Jack might be your perfect match. And if you’re considering adopting two, he would love nothing more than to go home with his best friend and brother, Gus!
