They came to us very shy and due to the environment they were in their fur coat was not healthy. They’re now learning they’re safe and playing with toys and other dogs in their foster homes. *the breed is just our best guess To fill out an app visit our link directly below to our website. https://humblehounds.org/adoption-process-1   Adopt@humblehounds.org November 5, 2025, 1:56 pm

MEET SELENA: Selena’s beauty reflects the first light of dawn—soft, golden, and full of promise. She’s a beauty inside and and out. Her golden, warm eyes don’t just look at you, they wrap around your heart and soul which turns into liquid gold with just a glance. Her smile is like a curve that sets everything straight. Selena is a 2-year-Boxer mixed with maybe Hound. Her Boxer wrinkles make your heart smile. She arrived very thin, and she is working on gaining much-needed weight. She is getting much TLC here at LaMancha, but her heart will explode with happiness when she has her own family to dote on her. Since she arrived at LaMancha, she has become a very popular girl as her sweetness and beauty is surreal. She is so gorgeous and even more gorgeous in person, especially when you feel her warm, glowing, and loving personality. Selena will be a wonderful addition to your family. How about submitting your application today. Meet SELENA: Please email Adoptions@LaManchaAnimalRescue.org *********** 2 years old. Spayed/neutered, UTD vaccinations, microchipped, wormed. Story
✨Meet Zeus!✨ Zeus pulled as part of “Angel Retreat’s ACCT’s of love” program. Zeus was originally surrendered by his previous family due to his declining health. They surrendered him to the only open intake shelter for the entire city, that is extremely underfunded and overcrowded. Zeus tested positive for Parvo was time stamped for euthanasia. We gladly stepped up, and gave him lots of love and supportive care and he now has fully recovered and is ready for a home of his own! Zeus is a 4 month old boxer mixed breed who is full of happiness for his second chance at life! He had a severe flea infestation that caused the skin irritation you may see in the photos but he has been treated successfully and his fur is growing back beautifully! Zeus is a young and happy puppy that will require a family up to the task of providing him the ample physical and mental exercise and training that all dogs require. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾 Quick Facts: -Zeus is sweet, loves everyone, and would do best with an active home who can keep up with his puppy enthusiasm! -Loves to play with other dogs! -Confident and handsome!

Story
ABOUT ZEUS Zeus came to HAP in July after his owner passed away. At 7 years old, adjusting to shelter life after living in a loving home has been difficult for him. Shortly after his arrival, Zeus began experiencing concerning symptoms, including vomiting, loss of appetite, and bloody stool. He was referred to Wilmington Animal Hospital for further evaluation and advanced testing. An ultrasound revealed a mass on his spleen, meaning Zeus will need a splenectomy to ensure he can live a happy, pain-free life. Zeus’s best chance at recovery is in a calm, home environment. While temporary fostering is an option, returning to the shelter after surgery would likely cause him to decline mentally. For this reason, a foster-to-adopt home is truly the best path forward for him! In foster-to-adopt, HAP covers the cost of his care and provides the supplies he may need! Zeus is a laid-back, low-key senior pup who enjoys chewing on bones, soaking up attention, and going for short walks. He is friendly with new people, easily won over by treats, and very affectionate. He enjoys long car rides, showing off his tricks, and melting into his friends for love! Given his age and size, Zeus is a low-maintenance companion who spends most of his day lounging or napping. He’s also comfortable being left alone and is not destructive when unsupervised. Zeus is already house-trained, walks well with a harness, and knows basic commands. Due to Zeus’s condition and behavior around other animals, we are requiring that he be the only pet in a home, so he can recover stress-free! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
This friend has just arrived to us as a stray. When animals are found as strays, our staff will search for an owner. If no one comes to reclaim the pet, we will begin looking for a new home. Unfortunately, we rarely have a background on stray animals. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with other animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we are often unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals.
