Meet 1 1/2 year old Horace! Horace was rescued from a mennonite farm when the owners no longer wanted him. He lived on a farm and slept in a barn. He had a bad ear infection, scabby painful ears from horse flies and sadly tested positive for lyme. He was on antibiotics for a month, and his protein in his urine is perfect. He will test positive for the rest of his life, but shows no illness from the disease. Horace is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. He is VERY dog friendly and lives with three other dogs currently. He loves to play ball. Horace would do best in a home with another dog. He came out of his shell quickly in his foster home due to the other dogs in the home. He loves playing catch and wrestling with his favorite girl dog Zoe. He loves children but might knock them over accidentally. He weighs 75 lbs, but looking at him you might think he weighs close to 100. He has very long back legs. His foster mom calls him her little horse. Horace is still learning about personal space. He has no issues laying on top of you for love and passing out. He does not have a mean bone in his body. He would do best with a family that has another dog and a large 6 ft fenced in yard. He knows how to climb a chain link fence. He would be a great running partner! Story

We are a couple in our middle 70’s, who still work, and live in a townhouse. Kona needs a big yard to run in and loves people and other dogs. Around here, she’s got lots of distractions, which cause her to delay her outside trips and causes me to run late for work sometimes. Long haired dogs remind Kona of sheep and so she tries to “herd them” so her new owners should know that she runs better with short haired dogs. She’s very strong for her weight, and I’m not aging with the strength I had as a younger person, so she pulls me and I’m fearful of being hurt. She’s a loving, loyal dog but is just too active for us to manage. She’s been trained, is going for a refresher course and her trainer thinks that some of her activity needs will ease out with age. Kona turned 2 on August 18, 2023.

Whiskey was born July 15, 2023. He came into rescue at 8 weeks old when the owner couldn’t find him a home. His mother is boxer and father Black and Tan hound. (Pictures of parents attached.) He is a sweet playful pup that has done great with small and large dogs. He is crate trained and doing very well with his house training. He loves toys and sticks to chew on. Gypsy was a stray. A man in Raymond, Mississippi found her and took her to the pound. They were going to euthanize her, and he took her home. She did not like his cats, so he surrendered her to us. She LOVES to run and play, and she needs a lot of exercise. She does good with most all dogs, but she is shy when she meets new people. Gypsy does not like cats! Once she warms up to people, she just wants to give kisses! Her ideal home would be a person or family that has a large yard for her to run and play in. She would be the best dog to do activities with or just cuddle with on the couch. She should be fine in a large, fenced yard. She can be hyper at times but settles down nicely inside with a chew toy. Hi, my name is Tatum. Aren’t I a handsome guy? I am the goodest boy too and I am looking for the best forever family to find me. I hope it is yours. TATUM IS URGENT AS HIS FOSTER MOTHER HAS HEALTH ISSUES AND WANTS TO MAKE SURE HE GETS TO HIS FOREVER FAMILY SOON. Tatum has a very sad story. His first people apparently dumped him off in a neighborhood way away from home and the people there were not too happy about it. They abused him and even shot him several times but since he had nowhere to go, he stayed there until a good Samaritan called the rescue. He was so frightened of people that it took almost two hours to convince him to get into the car. He was hungry, dirty and in so much pain that he finally got in the car and headed to a better life. Tatum has made so much progress! He is a very happy dog, loves people and craves attention. He adores hiking, walks and best of all – car rides! He is a bit protective of his people but once he is introduced to new people, he pretty much loves everyone. So far he has shown himself to be good with kids but due to his size we would prefer a home with older kids. He is also good with other dogs if they are introduced slowly. He walks great on a leash, knows some commands. He can be high energy and jumps a bit but respects structure and is a quick learner. Tatum's is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention and Brevecto. This is much too great a dog to not have his own family. East TN. Out of state welcome! If you are seeing this on adopt a pet the float for transport and health certificates for travel are included in the adoption fee. Transport may be available to your area in the northeast or Great Lakes areas. We use Rescue riders for our transport needs because they are amazing with our pups! Meet Thumper! This little guy is about 40 lbs of playful and fun energy. He’s sweet and good with people and other dogs. He’s about 2.5 years old and is a mixed breed but a really cool Mixed breed. I mean look at his cute ears. He’s adorable. He’s already crate trained and house trained. NO CATS. He is not fond of cats. Probably won’t do well with smaller rodent type animals either. He will scream SQUIRREL! And the rest is history. Haha. He would do well with children over the age of 10 bc he’s very playful and may knock smaller children down during playtime.
