Story

Meet 1 1/2 year old Horace! Horace was rescued from a mennonite farm when the owners no longer wanted him. He lived on a farm and slept in a barn. He had a bad ear infection, scabby painful ears from horse flies and sadly tested positive for lyme. He was on antibiotics for a month, and his protein in his urine is perfect. He will test positive for the rest of his life, but shows no illness from the disease. Horace is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. He is VERY dog friendly and lives with three other dogs currently. He loves to play ball. Horace would do best in a home with another dog. He came out of his shell quickly in his foster home due to the other dogs in the home. He loves playing catch and wrestling with his favorite girl dog Zoe. He loves children but might knock them over accidentally. He weighs 75 lbs, but looking at him you might think he weighs close to 100. He has very long back legs. His foster mom calls him her little horse. Horace is still learning about personal space. He has no issues laying on top of you for love and passing out. He does not have a mean bone in his body. He would do best with a family that has another dog and a large 6 ft fenced in yard. He knows how to climb a chain link fence. He would be a great running partner! Story

Whiskey was born July 15, 2023. He came into rescue at 8 weeks old when the owner couldn’t find him a home. His mother is boxer and father Black and Tan hound. (Pictures of parents attached.) He is a sweet playful pup that has done great with small and large dogs. He is crate trained and doing very well with his house training. He loves toys and sticks to chew on. Story

Gypsy was a stray. A man in Raymond, Mississippi found her and took her to the pound. They were going to euthanize her, and he took her home. She did not like his cats, so he surrendered her to us. She LOVES to run and play, and she needs a lot of exercise. She does good with most all dogs, but she is shy when she meets new people. Gypsy does not like cats! Once she warms up to people, she just wants to give kisses! Her ideal home would be a person or family that has a large yard for her to run and play in. She would be the best dog to do activities with or just cuddle with on the couch. She should be fine in a large, fenced yard. She can be hyper at times but settles down nicely inside with a chew toy. East TN. Out of state welcome! If you are seeing this on adopt a pet the float for transport and health certificates for travel are included in the adoption fee. Transport may be available to your area in the northeast or Great Lakes areas. We use Rescue riders for our transport needs because they are amazing with our pups! Meet Thumper! This little guy is about 40 lbs of playful and fun energy. He’s sweet and good with people and other dogs. He’s about 2.5 years old and is a mixed breed but a really cool Mixed breed. I mean look at his cute ears. He’s adorable. He’s already crate trained and house trained. NO CATS. He is not fond of cats. Probably won’t do well with smaller rodent type animals either. He will scream SQUIRREL! And the rest is history. Haha. He would do well with children over the age of 10 bc he’s very playful and may knock smaller children down during playtime. Story

This sweetheart was found wondering on the side of a road and we aren't sure why! She is an amazing dog!! She gets along with all dogs and loves playing with puppies. She is housetrained with a doggy door and does well on a leash. She learns commands fairly quickly and is just wonderful!! She is our meet and greet dog who is just a happy baby. She does get attached to “her person” and will follow them everywhere but we feel it's because she was dumped. we aren't sure if she's been around cats but can learn those rules. She has the Boxer play, long legs and sounds like she's gonna kill something, but it's all bluster. She has another Boxer she loves to play with and they go rounds together. She likes kids and isn't too shy of strangers. She's just a great, great dog and we want her to find her perfect family. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We transport every weekend alternating between the Great Lakes and Northeast.

We are a couple in our middle 70’s, who still work, and live in a townhouse. Kona needs a big yard to run in and loves people and other dogs. Around here, she’s got lots of distractions, which cause her to delay her outside trips and causes me to run late for work sometimes. Long haired dogs remind Kona of sheep and so she tries to “herd them” so her new owners should know that she runs better with short haired dogs. She’s very strong for her weight, and I’m not aging with the strength I had as a younger person, so she pulls me and I’m fearful of being hurt. She’s a loving, loyal dog but is just too active for us to manage. She’s been trained, is going for a refresher course and her trainer thinks that some of her activity needs will ease out with age. Kona turned 2 on August 18, 2023.

Kash is an 11 month old, blue nose pitbull terrier. He was born May 23, 2023. Kash likes to sprint across the yard and roll around in the grass. He follows simple commands such as sit, come, in the house, cage, outside and downstairs. Kash is not trained to a leash, however, he remains inside the perimeter without escaping. Kash has encountered numerous dogs without engaging in aggressive behaviors. Kash is playful and looks forward to fun. Unfortunately, as a new healthcare worker, I am no longer able to uphold these duties. Over the course of 2 months, I have not been able to provide the full attention or proper love a puppy needs. I am looking for someone who can nurture and love Kash just as much as I do.
