Story
Lolita and Bodhi are a bonded pair and will be adopted together  Lolita is a calico through and through—full of personality, opinions, and charm. She’s delightfully sassy and chatty, often sharing her thoughts from the highest perch in the house, where she can keep a watchful eye on everything below. Lolita likes to do things on her own terms, and while she’s not always a lap cat, she does have a softer side she saves for quiet moments when she feels extra safe (we suspect she might just be a little bashful about it). She’s a master of hide-and-seek, and you’ll often spot just the tip of her tail peeking out from under the couch or hear mysterious clanks and adventures happening in the basement. Lolita has a gentle, caring heart, especially when it comes to Bodhi—she’ll curl up with him and seems to understand when he’s not feeling his best. Though she used to play tag with him more often, these days she shows her love in calmer, more tender ways. Lolita would thrive in a home that appreciates her independent spirit, her quiet affection, and the special bond she forms with those she trusts. ##2188605##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. &#226&#128&#139Hello! I am stage 5 cuddler Frankiebean! Friendly social kitty who previously lived with 5 males, so I would really like a home to call my own now! I absolutely love being held and playing with a laser light or cat toy. If you are looking for your perfect companion, look no further! I’d love to become a part of your family. Spayed & UTD on shots. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 27, 2026, 8:54 am

Story
Keke is 8 years old. She was my grandmothers pet for 7 years. My grandmother recently passed at 100 years old so we are now looking for a home for sweet Keke. She has a few quirks; she poops in her litter box but pees on a potty pad next to the litter box, but besides that she is perfectly trained. She prefers to be the only pet in the house. She used to have stomach problems but since switching her to fresh pet, everything has subsided. She is very sweet and loving, and she has no desire to go outside. She slept with my grandmother every night. It is extremely hard for us to give her up, but she will not get along with my 2 male cats.

Story
These lovely calico sisters are Angel & Stormy. Stormy was a young mother who came with 3 newborn kitten and her sister. She was a wonderful mom to her kittens, but was afraid of people. After the kittens were adopted, Stormy bonded with her sister Angel. Angel was also leary of people, but a bit more trusting. Their foster began the patient process of socializing them. They've progressed tremendously but have a ways to go. Angel has discovered that she loves to be pet and purrs loud like a motor to let us know she is happy. Stormy likes to play, but still keeps a distance and has not yet discovered the joys of petting. They both sleep on their foster's bed at night and like to be near her. They are often curled up together napping, or playing together with their toys. They are sweet, gentle, quiet, and shy. They will do well in a home that is calm and quiet with someone special who can meet them at their level and build their confidence. They are available for foster or adoption. Their foster has done amazing work with them, but has others to care for as well. Angel & Stormy would benefit from someone who can carry the torch and focus on them directly. They are young about 3 years old, fixed and fully vetted. Angel is the one always pictured in front. She has the most natural confidence, so Stormy feels safe snoozing behind her.

Story
Meet Chef  — A Gentle Young Lad with Old Soul Looking for a Patient, Loving Home.  Chef was found in West Village at a restaurant and is a quiet, tender-hearted kitty with a calm, thoughtful presence. He’s the kind of cat who prefers to observe first, gently assessing his surroundings before deciding it’s safe to let his guard down. Once he does, you’ll discover a deeply affectionate companion who thrives on consistency, kindness, and trust. In the home, Chef is wonderfully well-mannered. He’s respectful of his space (and yours), never disruptive, and keeps a peaceful, Zen-like energy throughout the house. He enjoys playtime on his own terms, is surprisingly clever, and may even outsmart you when treats are involved. When the day winds down, Chef truly shines as the perfect couch potato—especially if sports or comedy stand-up are on. He’s an excellent TV companion. Chef is the type of cat who will greet you when you come through the door and happily soak up head and chin scratches. At bedtime, he sleeps faithfully next to his foster every night, nestled near the pillows—close, but just how he prefers it. With new people, Chef needs time. He may take a few hours (or more) to feel comfortable, and he won’t rush introductions. Once he realizes someone means no harm, he will quietly approach and show his sweet nature. Because of this, Chef can be easily overlooked during quick meet-and-greets—but in a calm, patient home, his personality truly blossoms. Chef eats well, stays well-hydrated, adores treats, and has never shown an ounce of aggression. He’s best described as a “Zen cat” with an old-soul aura—gentle, steady, and deeply loyal once trust is earned. Chef is looking for an adopter who understands that the best relationships take time—and that the reward is a devoted, peaceful companion who will choose you every day. Apply to meet this gentleman today! ##2316589##

Good with cats, Needs special attention, House-trained,
Story
Pippa’s story began on E. Jefferson near Chalmers in Detroit, where a kind driver spotted her crossing the street with another cat. When the finder pulled over, Pippa came right up—filthy, but immediately friendly and clearly looking for help. After a bath and a vet visit (no microchip), it became clear that Pippa was likely a dumped pet who desperately wants to be indoors with people. Now safe and waiting for her forever home, Pippa is a loving lap cat who adores attention and snuggles. She’s not very playful, but she’ll happily keep you company and soak up all the affection you can give. Pippa would thrive as your one-and-only or with one or two calm, well-behaved feline friends. Pippa is FIV+, which simply means she has a weakened immune system. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives indoors with good care and regular vet visits—and they can safely live with other cats as long as everyone gets along. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will make your home feel warmer, Pippa is your girl! Ready to meet her? Complete an application at ferndalecatshelter.org in order to meet this sweetie in her foster home. ##2587973##
