Story

Sheldon has been returned to Animal Outreach twice through no fault of his. The first time, the adopters got a dog and Sheldon did not get along with the dog so Sheldon had to go. The second time, Sheldon’s adopter had to move and Sheldon couldn’t go with. Sheldon has become obese and is currently on a prescription “diet” food. Sheldon normally has medium to long hair but he was so severely matted he’s now sporting a dashing lion cut. Sheldon is truly the sweetest cat who just wants love and hasn’t found his permanent home.

Story

Ada is a 5 year old buff and white female that wants your lap! She's a sweet girl that loves to play with toys. Ada was a stray that was not claimed and transferred to us from animal control. We are unsure of how she would do with other cats, dogs, and children. As always, please be sure to allow a slow introduction with each animal having their own space in the home. Have a chat with an adoption counselor for getting to know you tips!

Story

This is Opal. She is so sweet and the best mom. She is ready to find her forever home. Opal’s story began when one of our wonderful supporters, who cares for a TNR colony, noticed a very pregnant kitty showing up around the area. She was clearly in need of help, so we were contacted—and we couldn’t leave her to fend for herself. We brought Opal into our care, and just three days later, she gave birth to five beautiful kittens! Opal proved to be an amazing, loving mom who devoted herself to raising her babies. Now that her kittens are growing up, it’s finally Opal’s turn to find a family of her own. Opal is a sweet girl with a charming personality. She absolutely loves head scratches and will happily snuggle up by your shoulder when you hold her. She loves rubbing against your legs and has the cutest little chirps when she wants your attention. She enjoys the simple comforts of home—curling up on a lap, relaxing with her people, and watching TV. But don’t let her cozy side fool you! Opal also has a playful streak and loves chasing a laser light and batting around jingle balls. Opal can be a little cautious and curious when she hears loud or unfamiliar noises, so she may appreciate a calm environment where she can take things at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality really shines. After everything Opal has been through, she deserves a home where she can finally be the one getting spoiled, loved, and pampered. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate girl with a playful side and the cutest little chirps, Opal may be the perfect addition to your family

Story

Gertrude is a very sweet old girl looking for a home to live out her life. We received a call from HAWS in Wisconsin about a cat that chipped back to AOS. Gertie is estimated at 14 years old but has much time to still spend with her people. She doesn't play much but loves to sit on her foster mom's lap and the heating vent. She refuses to use any type of cat bed, pillow, or blanket and prefers to sleep on the wood floor. When Gertrude came to AOS she was in pretty bad shape. She has scaring on her right cornea and we know she has very limited, if any sight in that eye. She had an upper respiratory infection, urinary tract infection, had to amputate 5 inches of her tail, fleas, lungworm, and had to have a tooth removed. Gertie's left eye was not doing well with a possible foreign object/corneal abrasion and had to be removed. Gertie knows her foster mom's voice and footsteps as she will come to the foster room door and is waiting for "mom" as soon as she opens the door. She definitely knows the sound of opening a can of food! It took a bit for Gertie to trust and show affection to her foster mom but that could also be attributed to the amount of pain she was in when she first went there. She has never been mean or aggressive, just standoffish. Gertie does not seem to get along with cats; dogs unknown; children unknown but possibly older children who understand that she is older and cannot see well.
