Story
Caspian is a handsome young cat, gray with a white chest and beautiful mustard-colored eyes. In mid-May of this year, he appeared in front of my house wanting to eat the food I give to stray cats. I started feeding him regularly to gain his trust, from day one his behavior was friendly and very affectionate. I practice the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program in my area, which means I trap stray cats to neuter them and then release them to live outdoors the rest of their lives. If they are friendly, I put them up for adoption. Caspian is already neutered and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. I've had him for 4 months now and have found him to be a very affectionate, playful, and energetic cat. He loves to jump, play with his wand toy, laser point and has a big appetite. He lets me pick him up, brush his fur, and pet him! I am looking for a committed and responsible family to give Caspian the love, affection and safe home he deserves. We are located south of Chicago, 63rd and Kedzie.

Story
Hello we are currently looking to rehome ash who will be 3 in September. He is very well socialized to the point I sometimes think he doesn’t have survival skills as he would let my toddler just sit on him! He is excellent with children and dogs as well. We are rehome as he has not gotten along with our older cat and picks fights with her. He will do best with no other cats in the house. He’s excellent with dogs though! I can provide him with food a box and litter.

Story
Active, curious and playful, Percy is everything you want in a tabby kitten. Why We Encourage Adopting Young Kittens in PairsWhen adopting a young kitten, two kittens are often easier—and healthier—than one.Kittens learn an enormous amount from interacting with other kittens. During play, they learn important social skills such as how hard is too hard to bite, when play has become too rough, how to read another animal’s signals, and how to appropriately use their energy. A human family can provide love and attention, but we simply cannot completely replace the lessons and companionship another kitten provides.Having a kitten companion also gives young kittens an appropriate outlet for their tremendous amount of energy. Instead of relying entirely on their humans for stimulation, two kittens can chase, wrestle, explore and play together—and then often curl up together when they are tired.Kittens raised alone may be more likely to direct their normal kitten behaviors toward people or household objects. This can include biting hands and feet, attacking ankles, excessive nighttime activity, destructive behavior, or demanding constant attention. Adopting two kittens doesn’t guarantee that these behaviors won’t occur, but having an appropriate feline playmate can make a significant difference. There is also an emotional benefit. Moving from a foster home or shelter into a completely unfamiliar home can be stressful for a young kitten. Going through that transition with a familiar kitten companion can provide comfort, security and confidence while they adjust to their new family. For these reasons, Animal Education and Rescue strongly encourages young kittens to be adopted in pairs, particularly when there isn’t already a young, playful and kitten-friendly cat in the home. Our goal isn’t simply to find a kitten a home. Our goal is to give each kitten the best opportunity to grow into a happy, confident and well-adjusted adult cat. ❤️_________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Percy is $ 125.00WANT TO MEET PercyThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Percy and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. Story
Louis was rescued this bitter Chicago winter after surviving on the South Side streets, and he carries the most unforgettable markings from his journey. He is mostly white, but his look is pure character: a tipped ear that hints at his past, a perfect little Cindy Crawford beauty mark, and that fabulous beauty mark chin that makes him look like he is always mid poem at a coffeehouse.Despite everything he has been through, Louis is sweet, silly, and full of charm. He makes his foster mom laugh every single day with his expressive face and goofy personality. He is the kind of cat who seems to know he is safe now and he leans right into it.This handsome boy is ready for a warm home, soft blankets, and someone who appreciates a cat with both style and heart._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Louis is $ 195.00WANT TO MEET LouisThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Louis and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes.
