Story
Meet Mister Mustache – A Distinguished Gentleman with a Big Heart Mister Mustache is a truly special soul—a dapper, long-haired gentleman with a one-of-a-kind look and personality to match. With his striking mustache markings, charming meow, and impressive resilience, he’s sure to steal your heart. This sophisticated tripod has adapted beautifully to life with three legs. Despite his front-left amputation, Mister Mustache navigates his world with confidence and grace. He’s also FIV+, but remains in great health and continues to thrive in his loving foster home. Mister Mustache is a cat who values trust and connection. Once you've earned a place in his heart, expect tender interactions, soft meows of conversation, and gentle nudges asking for chin rubs and ear scratches. He even enjoys having his luxurious fur brushed—turning grooming time into bonding time. He’s also blossoming into a furniture companion, often lounging nearby and occasionally testing the waters of lap life. His communication is crystal clear: when he's had enough pets or play, he might give a gentle warning nip to let you know. For that reason, he’s best suited to an experienced cat guardian who understands feline body language and boundaries. Mister Mustache prefers the quiet life—he’s not looking for feline roommates and would do best as the only cat. A calm dog might be a fit, but what he truly wants is a home where he can feel safe, understood, and adored. His favorite treats? Freeze-dried minnows and duck! His favorite habit? Hiding when nervous—but meowing for permission to rejoin you, tail swishing with curiosity. If you’re ready to open your home to a cat with depth, dignity, and a whole lot of love to give, Mister Mustache is waiting to meet his person. Let him charm you—with one paw, three legs, and an unforgettable heart. Mister Mustache is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Story
Hello beautiful humans of the world! I am a stunning 6-year-old void girl who is ready to find my forever and ever home. You see, I was adopted as a tiny little kitten. When I came to the rescue I was missing foot, so the rest of my leg had to be amputated. Now I have three legs and I don't even notice it! Unfortunately my family has no interest in me anymore and told the people at the rescue they wanted to get rid of me. After having a home for 6 years I am confused about where I am and just want my people back, but I was told they won't be coming to get me. I am understandably a bit shy right now, but if you sit with me for a minute I will give you the best head butts and ask for affection and attention. I can get chatty when I'm comfortable! I get along very well with other cats and have a friend in foster care named Mortianna if you are interested in building a little void army. I enjoy playing occasionally, but I'm still coming out of my shell and getting used to this new life without my family. I always use the litterbox like the good girl that I am, and am easy for nail trims. Peggy is currently in foster care. Story
You aren't supposed to have to start over as a 13-year-old cat. You're supposed to be soaking up the rays of sunshine on the carpet while your person who has known you your whole life puts your favorite can of wet food out for you because she knows you THAT well, she knows exactly what you like to eat and what you don't. Unfortunately for me my person had to go into an assisted care home and her family didn't know what to do with me. One day I was snuggling up on her lap and the next I was in a strange person's house. Everything was different, nothing smelled or tasted or looked the same. I stopped eating, I stopped thriving. After some testing it was discovered that I have lymphoma and now I am in search of my own hospice home. I'm looking for a forever foster where I can reclaim a little bit of the life I used to have - full of cuddles and love. I would prefer to be an only cat where I can soak up all the attention myself and not have to share. I promise I'm a perfect house guest and I always use the litterbox like the good girl that I am. I even use my scratching posts and pads! I am really just a sweetheart that needs someone to give my love to. I adore attention and when I feel I'm not getting enough of it I will very insistently reach out and pat your arm or your leg until you give me a scratch. I am not on any medication and don't need any treatment. The focus is just to keep me comfortable and make me feel loved. My mom always called me Chica, and I still go by that in the rescue. Despite my circumstances, I remain the sweetest, most affectionate, and outgoing kitty there is. I have adorable old lady meows that are deep and gravelly and tell the story of my long life full of love. I enjoy cuddling, grooming my person's hair, and snuggling up on these chilly nights. I even play occasionally with my favorite green fuzzy ball, although I'm more of a laid back kind of gal. You'll probably notice in many of these photos and I am reaching out for my foster mom, I love to ask for love and to be picked up and snuggled. If you have it in your heart to bring an old opinionated lady into your home and let her live out her golden days, please tell the nice ladies at the rescue that Chica is looking for you ❤️ Chica is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please submit an application here: https://airtable.com/apph147Ocb1OqwMU3/shrASIF0R2OtkjxWD There are no adoption fees for Chica. She is looking for a forever foster to provide her love and comfort, while the rescue financially covers any supplies or vet care she needs for the rest of her life.

House-trained,
Story
Pallas and her siblings came to us three months ago. They were pretty shy so we called them "the bobcats." Pallas was separated from her siblings and put in a foster home in the hopes that she would get more socialized. That sort of backfired. Instead, she became bored and acted out by destroying things in her room. All of the "bobcats" are sweet and not aggressive. They are shy with new people but quickly become friends if you have a Churu for them. They will all need special homes, maybe in pairs, maybe with another cat. Please visit them at Catfé Lounge! ##2601689##

Story
Meet Dalinar 🐾🖤🤍Dalinar is a 6-year-old long-haired black and white gentleman with a soft, fluffy coat and an even softer heart 💕🐱 This handsome boy came to us as a stray, so his past is a bit of a mystery-but he's ready to start a new chapter with a loving forever family 🏡✨Dalinar is front paw declawed, which means he'll need to be an indoor-only kitty where he can stay safe and comfortable 🛋️🌿 He has a calm, mature presence and would likely enjoy a cozy home where he can relax, observe, and bond with his people 💤💖Since he came to us as a stray, we're not sure how Dalinar feels about other cats or dogs 🐶🐱❓ Because of that, a slow introduction (or being the only pet) may be the best way to help him settle in and feel secure 🫶If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion with a touch of mystery and a lot of love to give, Dalinar might be your perfect match 💫🐾FOR MY PETFINDER.COM FRIENDS, PLEASE CONTACT THE SHELTER AT (248) 858-1070 FOR MORE INFORMATION. MY ID NUMBER IS #402429This is Dalinar! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 12.2 Age: 6yrs 0mths 0wks
