Oliver still waits at the shelter for a family that understands he is not perfect, unlike his first family who returned him after he was diagnosed with crystals in his urine, a very common, treatable condition. Oliver has also been diagnosed with a heart murmur and requires daily medication for it. Shelter life is stressful for this little guy but luckily he has many human and feline friends to hang out with. Sometimes you can find him sharing a toy or a bed with his new BFF Dennis.  Oliver loves to get special treats from his staff and playing with his friends as much as possible...He even seems to have a bit of a crush on newcomer Stewella, a spicy little meatball. Oliver has so much love to give and all he asks in return is to be loved, fed his special diet and given his meds each day. Come meet Oliver today!

This poor old gentleman was adopted from Little Shelter as a kitten back around 2000 and was found in 2018 in very poor shape by a Good Samaritan who then brought him to a local municipal shelter. Oreo's microchip traced him back to Little Shelter. We retrieved him and gave him the medical care he desperately needed. His teeth were so decayed and infected that he had to have all of them removed. It was amazing that he was able to eat at all prior to his surgery. Unfortunately, the info on Oreo's microchip was never kept up to date by his family so they could not be located. We have no idea how and when Oreo lost his home but judging by his horrific condition when found, he was probably homeless for a quite a while. Although Oreo is now safe at Little Shelter, he adores people and is still hoping that a kind person will come and give him a loving forever home where he can celebrate his "Golden Years". Pookie knows what it's like to have a home! Adopted as a kitten in early 2010, it seemed that Pookie would spend his life with the comfort and love of a family. Sadly, when his behavior began to change, so did his living status, and little more than a year later, Pookie found himself back in our care. After a thorough medical examination the cause of Pookie's behavioral change became painfully obvious - the poor boy had lots of crystals in his urine! The discomfort he experienced would have been enough to make anyone a little grumpy! Pookie is now on a special diet to prevent a recurrence of the crystals, which may make it harder for him to find a home, but he is pain free and back to his normal cuddly self!
