Story
Moon is a sweet, curious cat who likes to play, explore, and nap on and in her kitty condo. She’s smart and chatty - if you talk to her, she’ll meow back at you.Moon has had a rough year. Before I got her, she was the only pet in her household. Moon’s owner (my college roommate) spent about 4 months in the hospital and hospice before passing away in May 2025. Moon was so upset at being separated from her owner that she licked off most of the fur on her legs and belly.I didn’t want Moon to go to a pound, so I took her in. But I already have a cat, and my cat and Moon both need to be the only pet in the house. Neither of them is comfortable around other cats or dogs.Because of this, Moon has spent the past 10 months alone, behind closed doors, with access to only a few rooms in the house. I spend as much time with her as I can. Moon will feel safe and happy as the only pet in a home with experienced cat owners who can give her the love and attention she deserves.

**Kady & Thumper are a courtesy post and are not located at or affiliated with Paws Crossed Animal Rescue A note from their caregivers: These two beautiful girls have been with us since they were just 5 weeks old… and now they’re almost 2 years old. They’ve grown up together, shared every cuddle, nap, and play session — and what they want most now is a forever home to call their own. Kady will even climb on your lap given the chance . They are sweet, loving, and full of personality. They are not tiny kittens anymore — but they have so much love to give. They truly deserve a family who will see the magic in them. We’re hoping someone special will open their heart and give these bonded sisters the home they’ve been waiting for — before their second birthday.Email us at catema2010@gmail.com to make their birthday wish come true  March 7, 2026, 11:22 am

**Buddy is a courtesy post and is not located at or affiliated with Paws Crossed Animal Rescue Here's what the humans have to say about me:Buddy - a gentle cat 3 year old cat who gives high fives and makes the sweetest companion.Buddy enjoys soft voices, pets, and relaxing with his people. He has an exceptionally calm temperament and has never shown even a gram of aggression. Once he feels comfortable, he becomes a loyal and affectionate companion who loves rubbing against his humans and spending time close by.Buddy responds to his name, knows cues like “up" and "sit."He would thrive in a quiet, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace. With a slow introduction, he may also do well with a gentle resident cat.Give him a little time to settle, and he’ll reward you with loyalty, affection, and quiet companionship. If you're looking for a kind-hearted, low-drama companion, Buddy could be the perfect match. See Buddy's Profile here: https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/47416911-yonkers-new-york-catApril 27, 2026, 11:17 am

Story
Birthdate:  02/16/2021Breed: One of a kindJust like us, cats crave companionship and safety.  Before rescue, SLEEPY probably spent the better part of a year outside left to fend for himself.  His partner, BASHFUL was more fortunate- - rescued just after all the cold winter months.  Now if I never knew differently, I might assume that they'd been in a home their entire lives.   Adjusting to indoors and all the love and real care that was coming their way, proved unproblematic and now, this charming duo is turn-key ready to fill your heart and your home.  The "strong, silent type", SLEEPY is both elegant and ruggedly handsome.  A long neck, eyes that pop and frilly bibs of white at his neck and below give us "dapper".  But it's his morning greeting - a solid, intentional headlong "boop" that brings you directly into his circle of trust.   He is both friend and North Star for our glamour girl, BASHFUL.  Looking to him for direction and reassurance, we're told any time they were separated, the longing for one another was painfully obvious.  But she is eager to reach for us as well and what a delightful surprise, the first time she snuggled deep in my arms.  A deep pewter grey coat is perfectly detailed as if it was stenciled with silver lightning.   Luminous jade eyes are beacons of tender love that she'll gladly share with her guy Sleepy and you, too.  **Bashful and Sleepy are a bonded pair and need to go home together!** The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: https://www.pawscrossedny.org/cat-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. April 27, 2026, 11:17 am

Story
Birthdate: 4/7/2024Breed: One of a kindTap, Tap - who's there?  Oh that's just SCAMPI pawing you gently for some treats!  Scampi is a gorgeous tuxie who had less than fancy beginnings.  Rescued and brought to safety by our determined friends at Lucky Dog Rescue, she'd been trapped in a snare of abandoned lobster traps.  Tracking her by her plaintive mewing, extricating her was quite difficult.Since then, she has been in a foster home learning to trust. And we’ve been learning too, just how silly and curious this adorable girl is!  Scampi bats her toys around with glee and LOVES to chase her wand toy. She rolls around and shows her round belly to the sky, content to be full of food and cozy-warm. Her foster mom taught her to “ask” for treats by gently reaching out and tapping your hand. She might even sit on your lap for the right treat (churus)!  She is eager and inquisitive when it comes to her play dates with the resident cat, and chirps excitedly when she sees humans and her new feline friends.  Scampi is looking for a home where it's understood that she’s still taking her time to adjust to her new life, but she's open and curious about being part of your world. Take a look at her bouquet of whiskers and her green-gold eyes and you’ll be as smitten as we are!Scampi is currently in a foster home. Please email adoptions@pawscrossedny.org if you'd like to meet her! Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36923/generic! Once your questionnaire is pre-approved, you will be able to meet our pets. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information.
