Say a hello to little Miss Lulu—the dazzling silver tabby, born September 25, 2025, with a heart as big as her purr! With her big soulful eyes, adorable pink nose, and gentle purr, Lulu is pure feline magic. Lulu dreams of having a playful young paw-tner to join her in whisker-twitching escapades and sunbeam naps. Story
Charon and Hydra, both born June 3, 2024, made their grand entrance right in our bottlefeeders’ garage—talk about a VIP arrival! Say hello to Charon: This handsome black-and-white boy is cool, calm, and collected—the perfect chill companion. Charon loves string toys, gentle play, and soft rubs on his head and back (butt scratches are a no-go for our distinguished gentleman!). He’s not the biggest fan of being held, but don’t worry—he’ll show his love with quiet loyalty and sweet quirks. His signature move? Splish-splashing in any water he finds! If you catch him pawing around in a bowl or sink, just know he’s living his best aquatic life. Charon and Hydra are two peas in a furry pod—they’re the ultimate best friends and really love being together. While we’d love for Charon and Hydra to be adopted together, we’d consider letting them go to separate homes, as long as there’s always someone around to give them plenty of attention. If you’re in Nassau, Queens, or Suffolk County and your heart is ready for a bucket of cuteness and unconditional love, just complete HUG’s online application at http://humaneurbangroup.org/adoption-application and one of our friendly humans will zip back to you quicker than a kitty chasing a laser dot!

Story
Meet Cecil 🖤🤍 Cecil is a 4-year-old black-and-white gentleman with a heart as soft as his fur. From the moment he stepped back into indoor life, it was clear—this boy is pure love. He’s the kind of cat who doesn’t just enjoy people, he seeks them out. Whether he’s curling up beside you on the couch, settling into your lap with a deep, steady purr, or gently asking for more pets, Cecil makes it known that being close to his human is his favorite place to be. What makes Cecil especially special is how naturally he’s transitioned from life outside back into the comfort of a home. Despite whatever he experienced, he has remained incredibly gentle, trusting, and affectionate. He greets attention with gratitude and seems to truly understand that he’s been given a second chance. He enjoys the simple things—soft blankets, a cozy lap, and watching the world go by from a sunny window—often perching there like a quiet little guardian of the home. Cecil is neutered, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He recently had a mild eye infection and a few scratches from his time outside, but he’s already healing beautifully and feeling better every day. Now that he’s safe, his sweet personality is shining more and more with each passing day. He would thrive in a home where he can be loved and included—where someone is around to give him the affection he craves and deserves. Cecil isn’t just looking for a place to stay—he’s looking for his person. In return, he’ll offer companionship, comfort, and the kind of quiet, constant love that only a truly special cat can give. Cecil has already shown how much he loves people. Now he’s just waiting for someone to love him back for the rest of his life. 🖤

Story
STAR ⭐ is a 5-year-old male with a story as unique as his name—and a future that’s still waiting to shine. Back in June 2023, STAR was trapped in Flushing, NY as part of a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) project with TNR Utopia. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped before being returned to his outdoor colony, where he continued his life as a community cat. In February 2026, STAR’s journey took an unexpected turn. He was brought into Animal Care Centers of NYC (Queens) during a large-scale animal hoarding investigation involving more than 40 animals. When he was scanned, his microchip led right back to TNR Utopia—bringing him full circle. Unable to return outdoors due to his situation, STAR is now looking for a forever home. What makes STAR especially intriguing is that he’s not a feral cat. He is shy, yes, but allows handling and did great with the vet and staff at the shelter. We suspect he may have had some experience living indoors or around people at some point in his life—but we may never know for sure. He is what we lovingly call a “leap of faith” cat—one who needs a patient, understanding adopter willing to give him the time and space to settle in and feel safe. STAR may start off a bit reserved, but he has already shown that he can connect with people. With consistency and care, we believe he has the potential to truly thrive in a home environment. STAR would do best with adopters who understand that trust is built slowly—and that the reward of earning it is something truly special. If you’re the kind of person who believes in second chances, who sees the beauty in a cat’s quiet progress, and who is willing to let STAR set the pace—he just might be your perfect match.
