Story
Rocco is a sweet, gentle boy looking for his forever home. This handsome long hair guy is about 1 and sadly was left outside to fend for himself without regular feeding or care. Despite all this, Rocco has a kind heart. He loves belly rubs and head scratches. He purrs especially loudly when he gets a full body massage. He’s very affectionate and loves people. Rocco has tested positive for FIV, also known at kitty Aids. Just like with people it is NOT contagious through casual contact. It's safe to share food, water, and litter box with a negative cat. FIV is only passed by mating or a deep bite wound, where saliva from the positive cat enters the blood stream of another kitty. This is very rare in socialized house cats. FIV cats can have a shorter life span in part due to the fact that with a compromised immune system they are more prone to contracting infections. FIV positive cats must live strictly indoors to reduce the chances of contracting something dangerous. It is NOT a death sentence! FIV positive cats can live well into their teens and have a very normal life. If interested in adopting, start at CatsCT.org to submit an application. This kitty is in a foster home but available to meet you at Bridgeport Petco by appointment.

Story
We always have Barn and Farm cats to place! Most of these are cats who are not friendly with people, although many do become so over time. These cats live outside primarily and help reduce rodent and pest populations. Farms, barns, feed stores, warehouses, greenhouses, or any building that offers a cat escape from severe weather and predators is ideal for placement. We like to place in pairs but that is not required. The cats in these photos are shy/timid with people but not aggressive and would do best in an outdoor home, not as a house cat. We ask for a $50 fee for each cat adopted however we do spend about $150 per cat to be spayed or neutered and get vaccines so any additional donation is greatly appreciated. Story
If interested in adopting, start at CatsCT.org to submit an application. See this kitty in purrson at PETCO, 4559 Main St, Bridgeport any time they're open! Angel is a friendly and outgoing boy about 2-3 who loves to be petted and have attention. He gets along with other cats and would be a great companion for an adult cat in your home or be happy as your only kitty. He came to us as a stray so he still looks a little "beat up" but don't let his rough exterior fool you. He has the personality of a lap cat.

Story
KIRI is a sweet and playful kitty about 1 year old. We think she was kicked when she was an outside stray cat as she had several broken ribs when we first took her. She is completely healed up now and very ready to find her forever home. Her left hind leg does not support all of her weight, so she is a little wobbly. This could be related to her physical injuries OR she could have a very mild case of "CH" - cerebellar hypoplasia. Kiri loves other cats and loves to play. She would be a great companion for another kitty in your home. She is a bit shy/nervous with new people at first but loves food and treats which is a great way to make friends with her quickly. She does not have any special needs except a home without stairs. She uses a little box just fine, she can get up on a cat condo and on a couch or bed. If interested in adopting, start at CatsCT.org. and submit an application. Meet this kitty in purrson at Bridgeport Petco, 4559 Main St by appointment..
