Story
Here’s Herbie, my beautiful, smart 3 year old cat. I adopted him two and a half years ago from a shelter in New Fairfield. He loves to snuggle. He and I have spent lots of time together with him on my chest or on my legs, purring away. He waits for me at the door when I go out. Herbie loves food and I have been able to teach him a couple of tricks using the clicker method and rewarding him with treats. He needs lots of attention. He likes to play; for example, to chase down plastic spring-y toys. But doesn’t like anyone to touch his feet and he hates being in the car. Although most of the time he is a loving, lovable pet, Herbie bites, which is why I’m sadly giving him up.

Story
Chloe and Gus
At under a year old, Chloe and her brother,Gus, were found homeless in a parking lot - eating scraps and begging for food from passersby. They were finally scooped up by a concerned citizen and are now available to you as the perfect cat starter pack! They love playing with each other and love their humans too! Chloe is a sweet, doe-eyed girl with the cutest little bobtail. She is very poised, and always camera ready. Nothing makes her happier than curling up on a blanket with you. Gus is just a big, tabby teddy bear. Cuddly, curious, and ready to be your best bud. He follows you wherever you go. Chloe and Gus are affectionate, easy-going cats who would do well in just about any environment - including with other cats, kids, or dogs. They are currently being fostered in Huntsville, AL, with transport available to your area. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to make themselves at home in YOUR home. If you think you have the perfect place for Chloe and Gus, please submit an application at https://forrescue.net/cat-application/. They are waiting to meet you!

Story
PORTABELLA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED! Portabella is a gorgeous grey/white British/Domestic shorthair mix. She was loved by someone at some time but showed up at a colony one day to be fed. The colony caregiver noticed that she was definitely friendly and thought she was a "he" because there were no litters over several months.  One day she showed up terribly injured (having been caught in a car engine) and the caregiver reached out for help.  We sprang into action and got her to our vet, surgically repaired her broken jaw, and got pain meds for her carpal hyperextended leg.  We also discovered she had a spay tattoo and had been previously spayed.  After no-one came forward (no microchip) to claim her, one of our fantastic fosters agreed to make a spot for her and her beautiful personality blossomed during recovery. Portabella loves a cushy window seat to view the outside and make biscuits.  She LOVES her wet food (the diet during jaw repair) so she will likely beg for it. :)  She likes to snuggle but will get into "play" mode quickly with a few soft nibbles.  She would make a great kitty for a family with older kids familiar with cats. She prefers to be the only kitty, but will tolerate younger kitties. She has been spay/neutered, microchipped, had all age appropriate vaccines, and a confirmed negative FeLV/FIV test.  The adoption fee of $295 includes the transport to CT.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will deliver Portabella up north to her new family. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and complete our adoption application at this link:  http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   Once your application is received and processed you will be contacted by an NBAR Volunteer.
