Story
Thackery is kind, curious, and a loving kitty with a silly personalities and a playful spirits. He has big kind eyes and a very cute meow.We have fostered Thackery for 2 years since they were rescued as tiny kittens from a lumber mill, where their parents were mouser cats. They have been raised their whole lives by loving humans, so they are extremely social, well domesticated, and great with people, other cats, and small children. They grew up with our now 3-year-old and are wonderfully affectionate and well adjusted.Thackery is a big, big boy. We call him our chonka muffin. The pictures do not do it justice. He is BIG, as in awe LAWDY HE COMIN!!! He is also very friendly and calm. He prefers a clean litterbox on the first floor of a house. He needs a loving forever home, ideally primarily indoors, though he would likely enjoy safe indoor/outdoor living. A catio would be especially wonderful. I have had lots of cats in my life, and he is one of the sweetest ones I have ever met.

Story
Zoey is a sweet, sensitive girl looking for a special home where she can feel safe and settle in at her own pace. She is very shy and can become easily overwhelmed or startled by new people, sudden movements, and busy environments.Zoey would do best with an experienced, cat-savvy family that understands fearful cats and is comfortable giving her the time and space she needs to build trust. A calm, predictable home without a lot of people coming and going will help her feel most secure.Because of her sensitive nature, young children would likely be too overwhelming for Zoey. She is looking for a quieter home with adults or older, respectful children who can understand and respect her boundaries. She may need a little extra time to show you who she truly is, but for someone who has a soft spot for shy cats, earning her trust will make every little milestone that much more special. If you have a quiet home and the patience to let Zoey blossom at her own pace, come meet this beautiful girl today!Send an email to frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org for more information or to set up a meet & greet. Stop by the shelter during regular business hours to visit available pets. AVHS is open 6 days a week 11am-6pm, closed Sundays, adoptions wrap up at 5:30pm each day.
