Story
Pixel is a large dark tabby (some photos look lighter than he is) with big paws and he's incredibly affectionate. He’s been altered, vaccinated, dewormed, monthly flea treatment applied, combo tested (negative) and microchipped! He’s co-existed with two female cats, and he was a gentleman. We aren’t sure about other males or dogs at this time. Pixel would make a great addition to an indoor only home where he can snuggle (he loves soft blankets and toys too). He’d do well in apartment life as long as he has room to roam and high places to survey his kingdom. Pixel is in our foster-to-adopt program (this means he would be in your home as foster first, he comes with a cat tower, litterbox, litter, food, tons of enrichment toys and so much more)! Pixel is in a private home as we are not a shelter, we would bring Pixel to to meet you. Pixel would need time to decompress and get to know his surroundings and you! Pixel would be successful in a home where there are not a lot of visitors (at first), and then mindful and purposeful introductions. Pixel is a loving cat he has been in our rescue for several months, we know he's not a cute kitten, but he's an awesome cat. Please no phone calls, texts or emails. We have a foster application on our website (we are somewhat new to adopting cats and we are still using our dog foster forms). Please do your best and fill out as complete as possible. We look forward to hearing back from interested families!

Story
Stanny’s story begins in July 2014, when he was pulled from Devore Shelter at just three months old—truly in the nick of time. Once restored to health, he traveled to Seattle later that year and was adopted by a young man new to the city. Renamed Stan, he and his person shared a deep bond for years until a major change in their living situation brought new people and two younger cats into the home. Sensitive and loyal, Stan struggled with the sudden shift and, unable to adapt, was returned to us last year at ten years old. True to our motto, “Once a Kitty Devore cat, always a Kitty Devore cat,” we welcomed him back with open arms. After a short adjustment period, Stan has flourished in foster care. He’s an affectionate, talkative, and super playful boy who loves human companionship and enjoys being part of a person’s daily routine. While he prefers people to other pets, he has gotten along well with his foster siblings with proper introductions. He can be a little particular about food, but he eats enough to keep his long, lanky frame in good shape. Stan knows his name, comes when called, responds to a finger snap, and shows his affection through enthusiastic head-bumps and happy tummy-kneading when he’s truly content. His health is very good overall; recent bloodwork shows borderline hyperthyroidism, which is being managed with a simple daily medication. He tolerates his pill well and is otherwise a healthy, happy cat with excellent veterinary records. Now this wonderful young senior is ready for a forever home where he can be loved completely and securely. If you believe you’re the person or family Stan has been waiting for, please fill out an adoption application at www.kittydevorerescue.org today. He’s a remarkable cat with so much love to give—won’t you give him the chance to share it with you?

Story
MEET WOOKIE! Wookie’s story began at Devore Animal Shelter in June 2024, where he and his siblings were admitted alongside their devoted mother, Momma Whiskers Winn. The kittens were just five weeks old at the time, and the entire family soon became ill. Due to their condition, they faced euthanasia while still at the shelter. Before that could happen, Kitty Devore Rescue stepped in and brought the family into our foster care program. They were lovingly nursed back to health by a foster parent in California and, once well enough to travel, made the journey together to Seattle, Washington, where they settled into their long-term foster home. It was there that their foster mom gave the kittens their names, with Wookie earning his in honor of his fluffy, Chewbacca-like appearance as a baby. Wookie had a challenging start and experienced recurrent digestive issues as a young kitten, which required extra patience and care. Happily, those troubles are firmly in the past. Today, he is healthy, energetic, and delightfully playful, especially with other cats. He thrives on companionship and interactive play, zooming happily through the house and inviting participation with the sweetest little chortles. While not overly vocal, his expressive personality shines through his antics, making him an endlessly entertaining and affectionate companion. Guppy and Flea have since been adopted, while Momma Whiskers Winn and her two remaining kittens, Wookie and Colette, continue to wait for the loving forever homes they all deserve. If you’re interested in adopting this charming, playful Wookie-boy and welcoming him into your family, please visit www.kittydevorerescue.org to fill out an adoption application today. Please Note: Wookie is one of our Seattle, WA, kitties and is available only to King County, WA, applicants.

Story
MEET WHISKERS WINN! Momma Whiskers Winn and her four babies found themselves in dire straits at the worst possible time: the height of kitten season at the shelter. Shelter staff estimated her to be around two years old at the time of her rescue in June 2024. Whiskers Winn arrived with her kittens Guppy, Flea, Wookie, and Colette, all of whom quickly became ill and were placed on the euthanasia list. A Kitty Devore Rescue angel stepped in just in time, pulling the entire family to safety. Recovery began immediately, followed by a trip to Seattle. While Whiskers Winn herself only suffered from an upper respiratory infection, her kittens battled multiple illnesses and required a longer road to health. Today, Guppy and Flea have been adopted, while Whiskers Winn and her son Wookie and daughter Colette remain in foster care, patiently waiting for their forever homes. Whiskers Winn is a gentle, demure soul with a quietly playful streak. Though initially cautious with new people, she is sweet, loving, and deeply nurturing once she feels safe. Her mothering instincts appear to be permanent; she dotes not only on her own kittens but is also kind and accepting with other cats. She gets along well in a feline household and brings a calm, affectionate presence, balanced by surprising bursts of activity. She enjoys tussling with her kids, chasing imaginary prey, and enthusiastically “catching” bugs on cat videos, proving she still has plenty of playful spark. Whiskers Winn would make a wonderful addition to a loving cat family, and if you don’t already have one, she would be delighted if you considered adopting her along with one of her remaining babies, Colette or Wookie. If you’re interested in giving Whiskers Winn the forever home she deserves, please visit www.kittydevorerescue.org to fill out an adoption application today. Please Note: Whiskers Winn is one of our Seattle, WA, kitties and is only available to King County, WA, applicants.
