Story
Widget has lived with us for about a year now. She is an energetic, mischievous, incredibly cuddly cat that very much loves her people. She is still young, around 2 years old, and still maintains a lot of kitten energy. She very often will put her front paws on your chest and reach up to headbutt your chin. She did that to us when we first met her at the Humane Society and won our hearts. The only reason we are looking to re-home her is that she does not get along with other cats in the household. We've spent the last year trying to acclimate her to our resident cats, but she still tries to attack them with the same intensity as when she first arrived. We have not seen her with dogs so cannot speak to if she would adapt to them. She's been pretty wary of children when they have visited, but we do not have kids of our own so have not seen her with long term exposure to children. We are really hoping we can find a good home for this sweet girl!

Story
We got Belle from the humane society about 8 years ago and she was approximately 2 years old then. She was very scared of everything and it took a long time to earn her trust but now she is like a completely different cat! She’s never been aggressive she just hides when scared but now she wants all the love and attention! She does good with everyone she just wouldn’t do good with younger kids trying to play with her because she’s so skittish but she does just fine if everyone is calm. She’s been an only pet so I’m not sure how well she does with other animals. She needs a new home because my daughter is allergic and it’s only getting worse.

Hi my name is Kiki. I love to play . I love treats , going outside for a stroll in the grass. I am an indoor kitty and only go outside with my family so I don't wander off. I get along with other cats but do not care much for dogs. They share me. I like attention but also my time alone to relax. If you can take good care of me and provide a safe loving home I can go home with you

Story
Hello! My name is David. I am a ‘working cat' which means that I may not be suited for the life of a house cat, but I would love to have a job in exchange for care, food, and shelter. Adoption fees are waived for working cats like me! Do you need help with rodent control at your house, barn, garden, warehouse, or garage? Working cats are dependable, effective, and utterly cute workers! Working cats can be an eco-friendly, humane alternative to pest management. Working cats are premier rodent managers! Although not suited for housecat life, if you keep a working cat happy and healthy, they may become more affectionate over time. These cats need food, water, protection from the elements, and long-term care. You can come by the shelter or email frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org for more information about adopting a working cat.

Story
Hi, my name is Milo and I am in foster care with my best buddy, Kira. We have lived together and love to share a bed. My foster says I can be sassy but once I get pets, I become friends quickly. The shelter is a scary place for us, so we are in foster care until adoption day! Want to know more? Please email the front desk at frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org for more information.
