Story
Meet Misha! The adoption application can be found here:https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/CatMisha is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, or locations along their route.Misha's Story:Misha was found living in a colony with about 15 cats. Her ear was already notched so someone cared enough to fix her. But upon a closer look, Misha could barely open her mouth, she had severe mouth issues, her fur was missing and she was severely underweight. Her rescuers negotiated with the feeders to surrender Misha to them and after a long 30 days, they finally agree. And thereafter began Misha’s long journey to how you see her now. Her mouth and teeth were in such horrible condition, it took 3 months of tube-feeding and steroids to bring the inflammation down far enough to do dental work. It was a long process, but was all worth it when we see how good Misha looks now.She is playful, loves her toys — plays with it in spurts of energy. She still loves kitten kibble, but also loves her wet pates. She is fine with other cats, tries to make friends, but she is picky. She doesn’t like any cat up in her face and will let them know she likes her space. She loves to be petted and will come to you and ask for it. She is not a lap cat. She does not like being picked up too much, except to lead her to food. She loves scratching things, loves a good basket and bed to curl up in and will lounge all day long until she hears or sees you petting another cat — then she will emerge for affection. Misha will do great in a home with other cats, where you’re not looking for a clingy cat, but one that does seek your affection.Misha is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and in great health. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy. All she needs now is her forever home! She has never met a dog.---ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES:Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and transportation costs. Also, when you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you’re doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee sponsors a cat on the streets of Houston to get fixed, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. Story
HEARTWARMING RESCUE STORY DOB 8/26/22 Hey there, everyone! I'm Lollis, a very affectionate, delightful, playful “torbie” gal which means that I'm a brown tabby with patches of peach that makes me look like I was splashed with caramel in a candy factory. I can't get enough time to spend with Foster Meowmy, so I sleep with her and am always asking her for cuddles, especially when I don't have to compete with the resident cats for her attention. Although my independent, freedom-loving spirit has proven helpful in dealing “as needed” with the dogs, other cats, and kids in my foster home, my innate friskiness has made me a perfect companion for those same kids. I’ve been very bonded to Foster Meowmy ever since she spotted me at her jobsite as a seven-month-old stray kitten who had no momma or siblings in sight. Realizing that Foster Meowmy was my ticket to a life that was better than dumpster diving, I wasted no time and ran up to her. She scooped me up and drove home with me cuddled in her lap. Yes, our special connection began on that unforgettable journey. To this day, in those cherished moments when I need a little snuggle, it’s Foster Meowmy to whom I turn when I seek cuddling. I hope that my heartwarming rescue story has touched your heart. Yes, I chose Foster Meowmy, and now it's time for you to choose me to be your next feline companion. I want to become an integral part of your life and make every day an adventure worth sharing. Arrange to meet me today, and let's form a bond that's unbreakable! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a gal like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your family heirlooms. HOPE ID 23-1014-A047 Lollis is currently in the Houston, Texas area but can be transported to this location upon adoption. The $325 adoption fee includes transport, health certificate, spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. This tiny, fuzzy void kitten is Asteroid Destroyer!TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY:* Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat* Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and locations along those routes. Transport cost is included in the adoption fee.* Adoption fee (< 6 months old) is $425---What can we say about Asteroid Destroyer? He's got a big name for an extremely tiny kitten. At least, we think he's a kitten. He's also part bunny, and has the uncanny ability to charm every single human on the planet. Everyone who meets him immediately falls in love, and you will too!Asteroid Destroyer strikes a balance between playful, mischievous, cuddly, sweet, and sassy. He loves running around the house with a toy in his mouth, growling adorably if you try and take it away. He is by far the tiniest kitten in his foster home, but that doesn't stop him from being right in the middle of the action - he'll wrestle and play with everyone! At the end of a busy day being a kitten, Asteroid Destroyer absolutely loves to sleep in a "cuddle puddle" with a few of his kitten buddies, or snuggle up in bed with his foster mom. Even though he's insanely photogenic with his perfectly round and fuzzy face, shiny black fur, and little bear cub paws... photos just don't do him justice! There's something special about Asteroid Destroyer and we're so excited to find him the perfect family who will love his quirky personality! We just know he's going to bring someone a ton of joy <3 ---Asteroid Destroyer is a very social little guy and will thrive if adopted with one of his foster siblings or to a home with a friendly and playful resident kitty. He's never met a dog, but with his fearless personality we think he'll do just fine with a new, respectful pup sibling (after proper introductions of course). Priority will be given to applicants interested in adopting a pair of kittens, siblings, or who have patient, playful resident cats or dogs at home. Information on why adopting two kittens together is best for their short- and long-term health and behavior can be found here:http://www.kittenlady.org/twokittens---Asteroid Destroyer is 2.5 months old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He does a great job of keeping his litterbox tidy... all he needs now is the perfect home! The adoption application can be found here:

Say hello to Dorian Gray, an adorable dog in a fluffy cat's body -- waiting for his perfect family to bring him home!TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY:* Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat* Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and locations along those routes. Transport cost is included in the adoption fee.* Adoption fee (1.5+ years, special breed) is $425---Dorian Gray is everything you could possibly want in a cat. We're not sure where he came from, but his finder said he just appeared in her yard one day, looking scruffy and hungry with a pretty nasty cold. She took him in, got him the vet attention he needed, and realized immediately that he was a sweetheart who didn't belong on the streets.Because of his friendly demeanor we are almost certain he had a family once, and was just abandoned for unknown reasons. Sadly, no one claimed him after many attempts to locate a family. Lucky for Dorian Gray, we are going to do everything possible to find him a family who will never abandon him and give him all the love he deserves!!As we expected, Dorian Gray came right out of his shell in his foster home. He loves playing with his little kitten foster brother and the two of them run around and get the zoomies together! He also showers his foster mom with tons of love, all the time. She says even when he's cuddling up next to her he will often put his paw on her shoulder, just to let her know he's there.Dorian Gray is a type of cat called a Nebelung, who are known for their doglike qualities, friendly demeanor, and larger size. Dorian ticks all of those boxes! This guy is "thicc" as the kids say - he's got the Tomcat jowls, giving him a round little face, and his fluffy tail is too cute to describe. He will truly be a perfect addition to any household, and will bring a ton of joy to his new home. If you're looking for an independent cat, Dorian Gray isn't the one for you. If you want a true family member, someone who will be your new best friend, in the middle of the action, and a constant companion... This is your guy!!---Dorian Gray was initially estimated to be ~5 years old, but his energy level has us thinking he's somewhere between 3-5 years. He does very well with other kitties after proper introductions, and has been slowly but surely interacting with his new doggy foster sister. He's not sure about her yet, but isn't scared or aggressive - we think with time and slow introductions he'll do great with a new pup sibling.Dorian is ~3-5 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He does a great job of keeping his litterbox tidy... all he needs now is the perfect home! The adoption application can be found here:

Meet Josephine and Emma - a truly extraordinary bonded pair of kitties 💛TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY:* Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat* Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee.* Josephine (FeLV+) is bonded with her daughter Emma, who has tested negative multiple times for FeLV. * Adoption fee for Emma and Josephine together is $500 (which includes a discount for adopting both of these amazing cats.)---We don't usually write a biography for two cats at once, but this sweet mother/daughter duo share everything, and you really can't get to know one of them without the other!Josephine, the devoted mother, and Emma, her daughter, share a bond based on survival and love. The duo came from a rough situation where survival wasn’t guaranteed, yet somehow, they made their way through... and held on tight to each other. Since then, they’ve been inseparable, forming a bond that is as rare as it is beautiful. Josephine and Emma aren’t just cats who get along. They’re a family, a team, and a reminder of resilience and love. They'll be a beautiful addition to a loving forever family. ---Josephine is the heart of the duo: bubbly, gentle, and full of quiet kindness. She has an innocent sweetness about her, and a protective, nurturing instinct when it comes to Emma. She’s a loving presence who seems to understand just how special their connection is. Emma, her daughter, brings a different kind of charm. She’s a bit more cautious at first, observing the world with her wide, expressive eyes that make her look forever kitten-like. But in a flash, that soft gaze can turn into a mischievous, almost “tiny troublemaker” look that gives her a playful edge. It’s part of what makes her so endearing.Together, they do everything side by side: sleeping in little tangled bundles, grooming each other, playing, basking in the sun, or simply sitting close, as if that alone is enough. Their relationship isn’t just companionship; it’s a deep, comforting partnership that you can feel just by being around them. These two gals also adore their foster family and are always in the middle of the action! They love pets and snuggles, and bring a calm energy to any room. They are so loving and adorable -- they are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face! Josephine and Emma are looking for a home where they can stay together... just as they’ve always been.---Emma and Josephine have been around cats in their foster home and they do very well in that environment! They would both be great in a home with another resident cat, but please consult your veterinarian on vaccines and recommendations due to Josephine's FeLV+ status.Emma is ~1 year old and Josephine is ~2 years old. They are both spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. The adoption application can be found here:
