Story
A beautiful, unique brindled 6 year old low rider, Addie is a sweet, sensitive, lovable, affectionate, mellow and somewhat shy pup who has had a rocky start. She is now looking for a peaceful and calm place to begin anew with someone who loves her. Addie has good leash manners while harnessed which makes her a pleasure to walk. She is housetrained and will sleep quietly in her own space all night. Addie gets along well with other dogs, but can be a bit timid around new people initially. Once she knows you, it's all tail wags and face licks. Addie finds cats a little too exciting, so no cats for this girl. She rides nicely in the car and hops in and out of the back seat easily. She settles quickly once she knows she's in a safe environment and will give you years of delightful devoted companionship. Addie will do best in a home without young children, but she'd thrive with older kids or adults who appreciate a lovable companion. She will be a wonderful companion with you in your peaceful and predictable home. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Hi. It’s me, Larry, a 12 week old, 5 lb, Dachshund and Puggle mix. I have an important announcement to make…I am ridiculously cute. Like, “you’re going to show everyone my pictures and say LOOK AT THIS FACE!” cute. I’m a little dude with a BIG personality packed into one very adorable, squishy little body. I’m mushy, cuddly, loving, friendly, fun, and just the right amount of spunky!I love people. I love attention. I love cuddling. I love playing. Honestly, I’m pretty enthusiastic about just about everything. My favorite place is wherever my people are—preferably in their lap, because why would I want to sit somewhere boring when I could be snuggled up against you? I’m also very good at giving kisses, making people laugh, and looking completely irresistible. I can’t help it. It’s a gift. I’m just a happy little guy looking for a family who will love me as much as I plan on loving them. And trust me… I plan on loving you A LOT. So, what are you waiting for? Come meet me, Larry. I’ll bring the squish. You bring the cuddles. Deal? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Titan! Titan is a 14-year-old, 13-pound Dachshund who is proof that it's never too late for a fresh start. He was rescued alongside 41 other Dachshunds from a home, and he is now looking for a quiet, loving family where he can spend his golden years in comfort. This sweet senior is completely blind and has some mobility limitations, but don't let that fool you—Titan still enjoys exploring the world around him at his own pace. His favorite place is a secure yard or grassy outdoor space where he can safely wander, soak up the sunshine, and take care of his business. Busy city sidewalks aren't really his thing, and he would do best in a calmer environment where he can feel safe and relaxed. Titan is a gentle, easygoing companion who spends much of his day snoozing in a cozy bed. While he's more of an independent guy than a cuddler, he has started seeking out affection as he settles into foster care and enjoys being pet and spending time near his people. He's wonderful with other dogs and gets along with everyone he meets, including children, adults, and seniors. One thing Titan absolutely loves? Mealtime! Despite having no teeth, he never misses an opportunity for a good meal and approaches every dinner with enthusiasm. His future family should be prepared to continue working on his housetraining routine, as he is still learning a consistent bathroom schedule and may have accidents. Thankfully, Titan is incredibly cooperative and tolerant with handling, happily accepting baths, medications, and routine care. Titan is looking for a patient, understanding home that can accommodate his special needs and give him the comfort, consistency, and love he deserves. In return, he'll be a loyal, grateful companion who is simply happy to have a safe place to call home. Story
Cosmo - 2 years & 16lbs, Chi Mix, Neutered Our Team Says: "This pup was rescued from a hoarding situation in PR - involving about 40 dogs. Due to this these pups are on the shyer side and need patient people who will give them time to get used to normal life. They are very sweet dogs: just need more time and patience." This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Their Foster Parent Says: "Cosmo has been with me for four weeks now, and what a change – he is truly a different dog. At the outset he was timid and fearful of anyone who would try to touch him, a reflection of the neglect I suspect he suffered in his former life. He used to like to hide in his crate and move back into the furthest corner if anyone approached. Now he’s an affectionate little love-bug! When I’m walking around the apartment he is like my shadow, following me everywhere and nudging my leg to get my attention. When I’m sitting, he is either sleeping on his tummy next to my chair or he puts his chin on my chair and waits for me to stroke his head or under his chin – or, best of all, to do both simultaneously! He seems to go into a love coma with his eyes half shut and his ears standing up! He is much more trusting and friendly with everyone now, even strangers we meet on our walks. He will nuzzle their hands and let them stroke him. He has also become more playful and has a little lamb he likes to shake and hear it squeak. He usually takes it into his crate at night, along with his “hedgie”. He has a new toy called a “Dog Brick” where one hides treats in various little compartments. He is having such fun with it and has become quite clever at flipping the lids and sliding the blocks to find the goodies! Right from the start, Cosmo has been a very sweet, calm dog and as he has become more settled he has only become sweeter. He is a gentle soul who rarely barks, never growls and is not at all mouthy, the perfect apartment dog. He never nips and has no interest in chewing shoes or anything else. He is completely house-trained and rarely has an accident. He loves to go “walkies” and always waits until we are outside to “go”. He likes to sniff just about everything outside and does pull on the leash a lot – I’m trying to train him not to. He generally seems scared of other dogs, even the littlest ones. We usually stand to one side as they go past and he never lunges or shows any aggression towards them. Based upon a couple of encounters in the park, he also seems to be gentle with children." Level of dog ownership experience required:BEGINNER – “Beginner” doesn’t necessarily mean easy as all dogs will require time, work, and patience, but we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale because of their breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  Energy level:MEDIUM – Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?Yes - doing well here Potty trained?Yes - doesn't have accidents Social with other dogs?Yes, okay to live with another dog  Social with cats?Yes, would be fine to live with cas  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Okay for a home with respectful kids  MOUTHY BEHAVIORPast this stage– Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in their mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtimeSEPARATION ANXIETYPast this stage – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or exhibit destructive behavior when you leave the apartment or house. LEASH MANNERSGetting the hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in their life but figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. CUDDLE BUG LEVELLower – Independent, mostly keeps to themself (may be a new rescue or shy, this could change) JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLOCalm Greetings – Doesn’t jump up on people or dogs. Always all four on the floor. CRATE TRAININGYep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night.  Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2753197##
