It breaks our hearts to write this, but we are looking to rehome our very loved 5-year-old dachshund due to family health reasons. She is fully potty trained, well-mannered indoors, and has been a cherished part of our family. Unfortunately, after welcoming our newborn, our baby developed allergies, and with another baby on the way, we’ve had to make this incredibly difficult decision for everyone’s well-being. She does have a moderate skin condition that is manageable with routine care and attention. She is otherwise healthy and happy. Personality-wise, she is sweet, loyal, and very attached to her people. She would thrive in a calm home where she can receive plenty of love and attention. This decision comes purely out of love and responsibility. We are looking for a family or individual who will treat him as a true family member and give him the life he deserves.

Meet Loretta, a beautiful 7-month old, 21-pound (as of 1/10) Dachshund/Terrier mix who is small in stature, big in feelings, and has a very strong preference for cozy, quiet living. Loretta has mastered the fine art of being adorable while trying to make herself as compact as possible. Think lap dog energy, tucked-in paws, soulful eyes, and a deep desire to be your person. At home, Loretta is in her element. She’s fully housebroken, crate-trained, and an absolute snuggle companion. She loves being pet, enjoys treats, like toys in moderation, and will happily curl herself into the tiniest loaf imaginable right next to, or on top of you. Loretta is smart and eager to please, even though she doesn’t know formal commands just yet. She’s already beginning to understand the word place, and you can practically see the gears turning in her ‘lil head. She wants to do the right thing - - she just needs patience, reassurance, and a calm environment to help her confidence grow. Loretta is great with adults and forms strong attachments to her people - - so strong, in fact, that she can be protective of her humans around other dogs. Is currently going potty outdoors at our center. * Walks: Loves going for walks and handles it maturely without pulling on the leash.
