Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🐾 Hershey – The Short-Legged Sweetheart 🐾 💗 Personality Loves human touch and attention, very affectionate even with strangers. No biting. Curious and loves other dogs (would do great as a second dog). High energy level (5/5) due to his young age. Shares food and treats with other dogs without fighting (especially loves treats). 📜 Rescue Story Found wandering dangerously along a roadside with a metal chain still attached to him and was rescued to safety. 🐶 Social Skills With Adults: Friendly to everyone regardless of age or gender; loves being petted. With Kids: (Not yet tested – can be assessed if needed) With Dogs: Very social; approaches first to give playful signals. With Cats: No aggression; friendly and shows positive interest. 🏡 Living Habits Potty Training: Likely lived chained outdoors before, but does not show excessive marking. Prefers to go near or on pee pads; may mark over spots where other dogs have marked. Toys: Not particularly toy-focused, but enjoys small plush toys and playing with items like towels or light T-shirt material. Separation/Barking: May whine or bark a little when left in a separate space, but calms down quickly. Walks: Slight leash pulling but walks well overall. Handling: Enjoys being touched even by strangers. Escape Risk: Afraid to step outside the door, but caution is still advised. Goes up stairs well but is careful going down. Car Rides: Has little experience, so needs to be lifted into the car, but gets out easily. In a travel kennel, may scratch to get out at first but settles quickly. 🌟 Adoption Notes Hershey is an active, social, and happy boy. He would thrive in a home with another friendly dog or with a family who can give him plenty of walks and activities. With his affectionate nature toward both people and animals, he will quickly bond with his forever family.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Skye (AL) is a spayed female Dachshund mix who was estimated by our veterinary partner to be 1 year old at the time of intake in May 2025. Skye is good with people and other dogs.Skye was abandoned pregnant and alone.  This extraordinary young mom safely gave birth to 9 pups and did an amazing job taking care of them. But now it's time for Skye to find a home of her own. Skye is being fostered in a busy home with other dogs and kids of all ages and is good with them all. She lives to play in the yard and sleep in a sunny spot. She is snuggly, playful and up for whatever her humans are doing. Skye has great manners in the house and is house. Do you have a place in your heart for this adorable young lady?  If you would like to adopt Skye, and invite her into your comfortable, loving home as a family member well loved and safe, please put your application in here: www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org Please also be sure to reference her name as Skye (AL) in case of duplicate names within the rescue. Thank you!RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate core vaccines at the time of adoption. Story
Winnie (listed as Kernel) is a 6-year-old dachshund who recently came up from an unethical breeder in the South and is now living her best foster life in NYC. Once she settled in, she turned into a total velcro lap dog who wants nothing more than to be your shadow, burrow under blankets, and snooze on your legs. She’s low-key, sweet, and ready for a forever home that wants a constant little sidekick.   Personality & Characteristics: Winnie is a gentle, sensitive doxie who bonds hard to “her” person. She follows you from room to room, happily curls up for hours next to you on the couch, and loves to burrow into any blanket she can find. In the apartment she’s calm and easy, more about snuggling than zoomies. Outside, she walks nicely at a relaxed pace and is getting more confident with the city as she learns the routine. She’d do best in a home that appreciates a clingy, affectionate companion dog rather than an independent type.   My foster dog is good with: Dogs: Has seen other dogs out on walks and has been fine/neutral; hasn’t lived with another dog in foster yet, so slow introductions are recommended. Kids: Not formally tested. Would likely do best with adults or dog-savvy, calm older kids who respect her space and small size. Cats: Not tested in foster; unknown.   My foster dog is:   House trained: Mostly house trained with a consistent schedule and regular walks; does well when kept on routine and uses pads when present.  Crate trained: Not currently crated in foster; she settles nicely on a dog bed or couch when left alone for short periods. Shedding: Short coat with normal/light shedding (not hypoallergenic).   3 Keywords for your pup: Velcro Cuddly Low-key   Energy Level (1 = calm, 10 = high energy): 3–4 / 10 – generally calm and low-energy, with small bursts of interest on walks.   Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Mostly quiet in the apartment; may give a brief alert bark at unfamiliar noises like a typical dachshund, then settles.   Walking Manners: Walks well on leash at a relaxed pace and prefers calmer streets. She’s not a power-walker or big puller; she’s happy to trot along next to you and check in often.   Appetite: Good, steady eater. Enjoys her meals and treats but isn’t frantic about food in foster.   Favorite Things: Being on your lap, following you from room to room, burrowing under blankets, napping on the couch, gentle pets, and quiet time with her person.   Commands/Tricks: Still learning basic cues; currently responding to her name and daily routines, and settling nicely when guided. She’s more of a routine/relationship dog than a “trick dog,” and is picking things up as she builds trust. She knows "no" and understands cues     ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2577575##

Story
Meet Miriam, a 6-month-old, 23-pound cutie with the head of a Labrador and the body of a Dachshund — a one-of-a-kind combo that makes her as adorable as she is charming. Miriam is a happy, energetic puppy who loves making new friends. She’s friendly with everyone she meets and would happily become best buddies with every person she sees. She gets along well with other dogs and even met a cat in her foster home without any issues. Like all young pups, Miriam still needs guidance and structure as she grows. She’ll do best with an adopter who has the time, patience, and commitment to help her learn good habits and continue blossoming into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. Approved adopters interested in Miriam can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you’re not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com.
