Story
This adorable little guy is Charlie and he's a 5 year old long haired Dachshund mix who we think has some Bassett Hound mixed in. He's fully grown at 25 pounds and has a beautiful wavy brown coat with swirls of black fur sprinkled in. He's a lovely pup who belonged to an elderly couple who have become very ill and can no longer take care of him. They love him dearly but want to do what's best for him so they surrendered him to Long Road Home and asked us to find him a wonderful home. Charlie is a great pup and so easy to live with! He loves to be around his peeps and give lots of cuddles and hugs. He's a quiet guy who loves to go for walks & check out what's going on in the neighborhood. He gets along great with everyone he meets and especially likes hanging out with children as long as they're gentle and nice to him. He's playful with other dogs but is pretty chill so wild rough play isn't for him. He just wants to be part of a family and give them love & be cherished forever. He's healthy, up to date on all his vaccinations and totally house-trained. He's perfect & will be a wonderful member to the lucky family who adopts him. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info on him.

If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.February 12, 2026, 12:40 am

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to JFK/EWR💟 The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate. Meet Rumi🧡 💙 Adogs News Account: @_adogs_ 1⃣ Health Condition * Spayed. * Microchipped, and heartworm negative. * Recently received treatment for pancreatitis. Should avoid being fed fatty foods. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Rumi had stayed at the Gimje City Shelter for over two years after giving birth to puppies, living in a cramped space. Afterwards, she was placed on the euthanasia list, so Adogs quickly rescued her. 3⃣ Basic Information * With People: Is scared and fearful of people. Still tends to get scared even with familiar people, but wags her tail and gets excited when she sees the person who takes her for walks. * With Dogs: Gets along with other dogs at our center with no issues. * Separation Anxiety: Unclear since she’s living communally at our center. * Potty Training: Not confirmed as she resides communally at our center. Is currently going potty outdoors at our center. * Walks: Is a well-behaved walker who enjoys being outside and does not pull on the leash. May initially feel a bit intimidated and sit down after a few steps to scan the surroundings. Once adjusted to the environment, she walks forward confidently. * Car Sickness: Had no problems and rested during short car rides. * Biting: May growl at times, but calmly accepts being touched. While the growling is a sign of being fearful of people, she has never shown any aggressive behavior, such as nipping or putting teeth on skin. * Bark: Is still afraid of people and growls out of fear when making eye contact with them. * Like: Likes going for walks.

Story
Meet Bernie! 2.5 months old | 6 lbs | Dachshund / Spitz Mix Bernie may be tiny at just 6 pounds, but this little guy has a BIG personality! This 2.5-month-old Dachshund/Spitz mix is energetic, playful, vocal, and absolutely full of life. Bernie loves to play — especially with other dogs. When he’s not zooming around, Bernie is a total cuddle bug. He loves being held, enjoys affection, and will happily follow you from room to room. He bonds quickly and wants to be wherever his people are. He’s very smart and already knows: ✔️ Sit ✔️ Come ✔️ Touch ✔️ His name (And he’s working on stay and down!) Bernie is: • Good with other dogs • Friendly with adults • Very food motivated • Low shedding Like any young puppy, Bernie is still learning. He's working hard on his crate training and house training. With patience, structure, and routine, he will absolutely improve — he’s just a baby figuring things out. Bernie would thrive with: • A patient adopter committed to puppy training • A home that can give him structure and routine • Possibly another playful dog • Someone ready for all the joy (and work!) that comes with a young puppy This tiny, spirited boy has so much love to give and will grow into an amazing companion with the right guidance. If you’re ready for puppy energy, cuddles, and a little sass wrapped in 6 pounds of cuteness — Bernie is your guy If you would like to adopt this Rockstar, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application! www.pupstarzrescue.org Please Follow us on Instagram: @pupstarzrescue Like us on FaceBook! www.facebook.com/PupStarzRescue **Puppies are hard work. Story
Meet Loretta, a ridiculously adorable 7-month old, 21-pound Dachshund/Terrier mix who loves being next to anyone and everyone. She is a true Velcro dog who is excited to see you every time you walk through the door. So be prepared to share your personal space with this romantic soul! An attention seeker, Loretta enjoys being the center of your universe. She is friendly and gets along well with humans and dogs alike…but a slow introduction is best when it comes to unfamiliar pooches. Once she gets to know a dog, she will play with them all day long. And playful, she is. Balls and chew toys are among her favorites. Loretta doesn’t like loud noises and can be a bit tentative at first, but once she feels safe and gets used to her surroundings, you see her fears just melt away. Loretta has a huge heart, she is super affectionate, and she loves with intensity. She is a beautiful soul in every conceivable way. Loretta is fully housebroken, she’s been perfecting her leash manners, and at home, she regards her crate as her safe space. Loretta sits on command and comes when you call her name. Athletic and energetic, Loretta likes spending time outdoors and has a particularly fun time frolicking in the snow. When it’s time to chill out, Loretta is content to sit next to you on the couch and watch TV. In the car, this adventurous gal loves to ride shotgun! What a lovely co-pilot to accompany you on errands! If you’re in the market for an outstanding pup whose true fabulous self will only continue to emerge as she learns to trust and relax, then Loretta might be the right girl for you! If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application!

Story
Brody - 2 years, 22lbs, Dachshund/Pekingese Mix, Neutered  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:BEGINNER – “Beginner” doesn’t necessarily mean easy as all dogs will require time, work, and patience, but we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale because of their breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  Energy level:LOWER/MEDIUM – Pretty chill indoors and won’t demand endless amounts of stimulation and exercise but still needs to move thier body - a solid 30 to 45 minutre walk to start the day  and potty breaks -  to stretch their legs. Okay in the city?We don’t know yet because this pup is brand new to us. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age carefully.  Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2668926##
