Because of her past, she is understandably very shy at first and needs a patient, experienced home that will give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. Star tends to bond more quickly with women, and once she trusts you, she is incredibly gentle, sweet, and devoted—a true little shadow who wants nothing more than to be near her person. Afterwards, she was placed on the euthanasia list, so Adogs quickly rescued her. 3⃣ Basic Information * With People: Is scared and fearful of people. Still tends to get scared even with familiar people, but wags her tail and gets excited when she sees the person who takes her for walks. * With Dogs: Gets along with other dogs at our center with no issues. * Separation Anxiety: Unclear since she’s living communally at our center. * Potty Training: Not confirmed as she resides communally at our center. Is currently going potty outdoors at our center. * Walks: Is a well-behaved walker who enjoys being outside and does not pull on the leash. May initially feel a bit intimidated and sit down after a few steps to scan the surroundings. Once adjusted to the environment, she walks forward confidently. * Car Sickness: Had no problems and rested during short car rides. * Biting: May growl at times, but calmly accepts being touched. He healed on his own inside a kennel. Because of how the bone healed, he has a slight limp, but he is not in pain. It is simply the way his body recovered. After his recovery, Brick was at risk of euthanasia. An animal lover stepped in and pulled him from the shelter, but the municipality warned that if he was returned to his territory, he would be euthanized. With no other safe option, the volunteer placed him in a paid boarding shelter. That was three years ago. Brick has been living there ever since. He is a sweet, calm boy who gets along well with everyone. He asks for very little and gives so much love in return. No dog deserves to spend their entire life waiting behind kennel doors. Brick may walk a little differently, but he is just as deserving of a home, a family, and a soft place to rest as any other dog. He is simply a good boy, and he has waited long enough.If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet. It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events.
