Story
Meet Santana, a 3-year-old young adult pit bull mix with a gentle heart and a loyal personality. We adopted him from the Greater Birmingham Humane Society when he was about 6 months old, where his name was Poe. Since then, he’s been a deeply loved member of our family. Santana is calm indoors, crate trained, and happiest when he can spend time with his people, explore the yard, sniff every corner, and stretch out in a sunny spot for an afternoon nap. He’s wonderful with children and has a sweet, affectionate nature. He would do best in a home without cats and, because he’s unsure around other dogs, we believe he’d thrive as the only pet. A securely fenced yard would be ideal. Choosing to rehome Santana has been one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made. We love him dearly, but our greatest priority is finding a family who can give him the stability, patience, and lifelong love he deserves. We know the right home is out there, and we can’t wait for him to be special to someone else.

WANTED: A Personal Walking Buddy With Pockets Full of Treats Hello. My name is Colleen, and I'm accepting applications for a full-time Human Fitness Coordinator. Do you keep saying: "I really should get more steps in." "I need motivation to exercise." "I'll start walking tomorrow..." Well... tomorrow is here. I'm almost 5 years old, weigh a perfectly portable 42.4 pounds, and I'm more than happy to help you reach those daily step goals. Don't worry—I won't make you train for a marathon. Just leash me up for my potty walks, let me conduct my highly important neighborhood sniff inspections, and we'll call it a successful workout. Now, I do have one little disclaimer... I can jump a 4-foot fence. That's right. If you were hoping to simply open the back door and let me out... I have other plans. Think of me as an overachiever with impressive vertical skills. So I do need to be leash walked, but that just means we get extra quality time together! The best part? I'm not just your walking buddy—I'm everyone's friend. I love people. I'm good with other dogs. Yep... I'm good with cats, too! Basically, I'm the social butterfly of the neighborhood. I'm already spayed, and before I head home with you I'll be current on vaccines and microchipped. My adoption fee is sponsored and reduced to just $40! If you're looking for a sweet, hilarious, fence-clearing, fitness-inspiring best friend who gets along with just about everyone, I'm your girl. Call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment to meet me! Disclaimer: Adopting Colleen may result in increased daily steps, frequent laughter, and suddenly realizing your neighbors all know your dog's name before they know yours. July 17, 2026, 9:36 am

Story
Some dogs demand attention. Frannie quietly steals your heart. Frannie is the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much. She just wants someone to love her. This sweet, gentle girl came to us as a stray and, sadly, no one ever came looking for her. She's estimated to be 1½-2 years old, weighs 34 pounds, and has the most humble, submissive personality. Frannie is good with other dogs and has a calm, loving nature that makes everyone she meets fall for her. After everything she's been through, Frannie deserves a family who will show her what it feels like to truly belong. We think she'll repay that love a hundred times over with quiet companionship, grateful eyes, and endless loyalty. Her adoption fee is sponsored and reduced to just $40! That includes:Distemper/parvo vaccine, Rabies vaccine, Vet exam, Fecal test for parasites, Basic dewormer, Spay, Microchip before she goes home, If Frannie sounds like the missing piece of your family, please call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment to meet her. Sometimes the sweetest souls are the ones who have waited the longest to be seen. Let's make sure Frannie doesn't have to wait much longer. Some dogs demand attention. Frannie quietly steals your heart. July 16, 2026, 4:31 pm

EXCUSE US... WHO MISPLACED A DOG THIS AWESOME? Meet Corby, a handsome 2-year-old, 56.8-pound sweetheart who showed up as a stray. While his past is a mystery, his personality isn't. Corby has never met a stranger. People? "Hi! Can we be friends?" Friendly dogs? "Absolutely! Let's play!" He has met several of the other friendly shelter dogs and has done great with every one of them. Whether he's making new canine buddies or charming every human he meets, Corby is just happy to be included. He's playful, affectionate, and has that easygoing personality that makes everyone instantly like him. The only thing missing is a family of his own. ❤️ His adoption fee is sponsored and reduced to just $40! For just $40, you get a loyal best friend who's already won over everyone at the shelter. If you'd like to meet Corby, call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment. Corby has been waiting long enough for someone to choose him. Maybe today is the day his "stray" story becomes a "forever home" story.  July 17, 2026, 2:26 pm

Story
Luna is a very playful, energetic, agile and strong female American Bully. She has some seasonal allergies, has all her immunizations and is healthy. Luna turns 5 in August. She loves walks and to play in her fenced in yard. Additionally, Luna is a big cuddle buddy and wants to be wherever the family is. She eats pedigree hard food and loves Milk Bones. Luna cannot have rawhide bones or chew on rope toys as she had surgery at 15 months to remove the obstruction from her lower intestines. Hard bones are great and she loves to chew them. A recent hip replacement and another one looming is the reason why I have to re-home her. She is very loved and will be missed. I will donate her kennel, large food container, hard bones, leash and her bed.
