Story
Hi! I’m Amos 🐾🤎I’m a 6-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound / Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, weighing about 36 pounds — which means I’m still growing into these long legs of mine! I’ve got that classic hound curiosity mixed with Catahoula smarts, and I bring a whole lot of personality wherever I go. First things first — I love my people. I’m a total velcro dog. If you sit down, I’m climbing up beside you. If your hand is nearby, I’ll gently nuzzle it for pets. If we’re on the couch? I’m curled up right next to you, soaking in all the cuddles. I am very affectionate and absolutely thrive on connection. 🥰 I’m great with other dogs and do well with kids and the elderly too. I’ve got a sweet, friendly nature and very good manners for a young guy. I’m housetrained, stay out of the trash (because I’m a gentleman, obviously 😉), and I’m good in a crate. I load into the car nicely and ride great — adventures are always a yes from me! 🚗🐶Now let’s talk energy… I am a young hound mix, which means I’ve got plenty of it! I’m very high energy and will need an active home that can give me exercise and continued basic training. I walk okay on a leash but do pull a bit — I’m still learning and just get excited about all the sights and smells. With consistency and guidance, I’ll catch on quickly. I’m a smart boy. 🧠✨Even though I enjoy outside time, I really love being inside with my family. If I’m out in the yard, I’ll often go back and forth to peek in the window just to make sure you’re still there. Being near my people is my favorite place to be. 💕If you’re looking for a well-mannered, affectionate, energetic young pup who will cuddle you on the couch and happily join you for every car ride, I might just be your perfect match. You can call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me. I’ll be here — probably nudging someone’s hand for more pets. 🐾💛****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Hi… I’m Xena 🤍🐾Yes, like the warrior princess — and I suppose I’ve earned the name. I’m a 6-year-old, 50-pound Staffordshire Terrier girl with a sleek mostly white coat and beautiful brindle patches. I may look strong on the outside, but my heart? It’s pure marshmallow. 💕 Not long ago, I wandered up to one of the shelter board members’ homes. I was very skinny, wearing an embedded collar with no tag. At some point, I was someone’s house pet… and then I was left to survive on my own. I had to be brave. I had to endure. But I never stopped being gentle. Since coming to the shelter, I’ve been brought up to date on all my vaccinations and had a full vet exam. I’m feeling so much better now. Every day, I thank the staff the only way I know how — with kisses, soft snuggles, and big grateful eyes. If you look at me long enough, you can almost see me saying, “Thank you for caring about me.” 🥹I’m extremely well-mannered. I’m house trained, crate trained, and I walk nicely on a leash. I load easily into the car and actually enjoy car rides — windows down, ears in the breeze? Yes please. 🚗💨 I have a medium energy level. I love to run and play when it’s time… but I’m just as happy cuddling on the couch under a fuzzy blanket for movie night. 🎬🛋️ I adore ear scratches (they’re my weakness 😌) and I bond deeply with my people. I may have a touch of separation anxiety — I just really love being close — but I’m not destructive at all. I simply want to be where you are. I’m a true velcro girl and would thrive in a home where I can spend lots of time with my humans.I’m good with other dogs with slow, proper introductions. I’m wonderful with the elderly and haven’t been officially tested with children yet, but with my calm and loving personality, I would likely do very well with respectful kiddos. I’ve already fought my battles. I’ve already been brave. Now I’m ready for the peaceful chapter — the soft bed, the steady love, the forever home where I never have to wander again. If you think you might be my happily-ever-after, please call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to learn more about me. I promise to be your most loyal warrior — and your very best snuggle buddy. 🤍🐾****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Hi there, I’m Bailey! 🤍🐾I’m a 1-year-old Black Labrador mix, about 40 pounds of love, wiggles, and growing confidence. I may come across as a little bold at first (I do have opinions 😉), but deep down I’m a total sweetheart who just wants to be close to my people. 💕I actually grew up in a shelter environment, so home life is still pretty new to me. Because of that, I will need continued work with housetraining and learning a consistent routine. With patience, structure, and encouragement, I’ll catch on — I’m a smart girl and very eager to please! 🌟 I absolutely love people. Truly. I just need slow and patient introductions at first so I can feel safe and understand that everything is okay. Once I warm up, don’t be surprised if I gently nose you for pets — that’s my polite way of asking for love. 🥰 I already know how to sit, and I’m excited to keep learning. Treats definitely help… just saying. 🍪😄I love other dogs too, but just like with people, I need slow and proper introductions so I can build trust. I tend to do best with calm, submissive friends. I’m not a fan of other female dogs, but I enjoy group walks and actually feel braver when I have a dog buddy by my side. I’m still building confidence walking on my own, and with patience and kindness, I know I’ll get there. More than anything, I’m a loving girl who’s ready to be someone’s cuddle buddy, best friend, and loyal companion. I’m spayed, up to date on all my shots, and ready to fill your home with affection, tail wags, and lots of happy moments. 🐶💖If you’re looking for a smart, devoted girl who just needs a little patience to truly blossom, I just might be your perfect match. You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me. 🤍🐾****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
