Life started out a little rough for me – I had a broken jaw, but don’t worry, it’s fully healed now and doesn’t slow me down one bit! I’ve been through a lot, but I’m ready to find a forever home where I can finally relax and just be a dog.I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and leash trained, so I’m already off to a great start. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I just want to be near you, loved, and part of the family. I get along well with other dogs, and I think I’d really thrive in a home with another gentle pup who can show me the ropes.If you’re patient, kind, and looking for a loyal friend, I’m your guy. Hello there, I’m Sammy — a handsome black and tan Chow/Retriever mix, just about a year old and full of quiet charm. I even have adorable black spots on my tongue, which I hear make me quite the conversation starter. 😌🐾I’m a very polite young gentleman who already knows how to sit, walk beautifully on a leash, and keep a tidy home — I’m fully housebroken and crate trained. I’m gentle with older kids and the elderly, and I always try to make people feel comfortable around me.When it comes to other dogs, I can be a bit selective. I have an alpha personality, so if there is another dog in the household, it would preferably be a submissive female. I was picked on before I arrived at the shelter, so I appreciate slow, proper introductions to make sure I feel safe. I haven’t met any young children or cats yet, so that’s still a mystery. 🐕‍🦺✨One of my favorite things in the world is going for a car ride — windows down, ears flapping, the whole experience. I may come across as a little bold at first (I know what I like!), but deep down I’m a total sweetheart who just wants to be close to my people. 💕I absolutely adore humans and I’m always eager to please. If you sit down near me, don’t be surprised if I gently nose you for pets — that’s my polite way of asking for love. 🥰 I already know how to sit, and with a little basic training and encouragement, I’ll be so proud to show off everything I learn.
