Story
Hi, my name is Sheila and I'm 15 years old.  I was adopted when I was 7 years old and returned when I was 13 years old.  I was returned because I had severe anxiety when it stormed or when there were loud noises.  My family lived in the path of an airport and the planes flying over caused me to have anxiety.  I am back living with the foster family that I lived with before I was adopted. My foster mom says I am one of the smartest dogs she ever met.  I am friendly and greet visitors at the door.  If it's just one person I lay on the floor and just relax.  If there are many visitors I greet them and then relax in a different room.  I do pace when there are thunderstorms. My foster mom said one time I used the bath tub as a safe place during a storm.  I am guarded with men I don't know.  I don't live with any other dogs or cats.  I have learned to accept other dogs when I go to the groomer. I do not like being in a crate. I do best in a home where I am the only pet.  I am house trained.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $100.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.October 24, 2024, 4:29 pm

Story
Hi. I’m Manny and am under 5 pounds. I am a Min-Chi that will steal your heart. I love to play with toys and my foster sibs. I also love being outside, but I think my favorite thing is sitting with my person in the chair, just chilling. My fosters said I would make a happy addition to any home. If you are interested in Manny, please visit www.pawscare.org, and click on the online application. We require the application to be filled out and approved prior to meeting him as all of our animals are in private foster homes. Please fill out all information as we cannot process incomplete applications. A phone number for your veterinarian is a must. We CANNOT process your application without a vet phone number.

Story
Hank needs a home Adult Great Dane/Great Pyrenees mix Hank is a loving 3 year old 100lb dog who we have had since he was a 7 week old pup. He sits, stays, lays down, rolls over, speak's and jumps. He is not very comfortable on a leash and will pull you around if you are a light person . He loves to run, jump, hike and swim. He is house trained and crate trained, will use a doorbell to go out, and doesn't jump on people when they come in the door. He respects a pet safe invisible fence. We trained him to fetch and not to play tug of war(he would win) He is very protective, and is unsure of new people. But once he accepts you, he is willing to protect you down to the end. We moved last year, and to say thank was unhappy would be an understatement. He used to have a half acre fenced lot to run around, and plenty of nearby parks for us to take him to, but when we moved, his space was cut down to a quarter of the size and our house is very small. Fixed, crate trained, housebroken

Story
Meet Canyon – Your Adventure Buddy! Canyon is a strikingly handsome coonhound with velvety black and tan ears and a heart as big as his paws! This large and lovable guy embodies all the charm of his hound roots: a curious nose for adventure, a loyal spirit, and a sweet disposition. Canyon is still settling in, so we’re learning more about his preferences. True to his hound instincts, he’s not a fan of cats and loves the thrill of the chase, so a feline-free home is a must. We haven’t yet tested him with other dogs, but his social, easygoing nature gives us high hopes. At his core, Canyon is an affectionate companion who’s eager to bond with a family who appreciates his hound personality and active lifestyle. He’s ready to explore the world with you—whether it’s long hikes, backyard sniffing adventures, or lazy evenings by the fire. Could you be the one to give Canyon his forever home? 🐾 Apply for him on our website at EffinghamCountyHumaneSociety.org 🐾
