Story
Hi, my name is Sheila and I'm 15 years old.  I was adopted when I was 7 years old and returned when I was 13 years old.  I was returned because I had severe anxiety when it stormed or when there were loud noises.  My family lived in the path of an airport and the planes flying over caused me to have anxiety.  I am back living with the foster family that I lived with before I was adopted. My foster mom says I am one of the smartest dogs she ever met.  I am friendly and greet visitors at the door.  If it's just one person I lay on the floor and just relax.  If there are many visitors I greet them and then relax in a different room.  I do pace when there are thunderstorms. My foster mom said one time I used the bath tub as a safe place during a storm.  I am guarded with men I don't know.  I don't live with any other dogs or cats.  I have learned to accept other dogs when I go to the groomer. I do not like being in a crate. I do best in a home where I am the only pet.  I am house trained.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $100.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.June 14, 2024, 2:45 pm

Story
We acquired May almost a year ago from a rescue in Missouri. She is a sweet dog but has an easy to startle trait. She has snapped at faces when children have caught her off guard and had thier faces down towards her. The original rescue has been little help and with her age, vets are reluctant to uthanize. I think a home without children would be best. She plays well with our other male rescue and doesn't show any aggression towards him. But we have an older female that she has put in check a time or two. She is a sweet cumbersome couch companion and this is our try at rehoming before having her sadly euthanized as the last resort.

Story
My name is Elsa and I came here on 10/3 with my son. We were picked up as strays and our owners could no longer care for us. But, they did a nice job training us. I am a sweet, little pittie. I'm only halfway up to your knees. I walk well on a leash, take treats gently, and love people. I'm not fond of cats and I'm iffy with some dogs, but love others...so a meet and greet is best. My dream home will have a family who will cuddle me and let me snooze on a snuggly bed or blanket. I'd love a fenced yard, or folks who will take me on a leash to go potty. AND...Since I'm a senior, any major medical needs I might have as I age is being donated by The Helping Paw Project ---as long as you use one of the vets they work with. (Shots, nails, and routine vet visits are not included.) I'm a healthy girl, but for the future, that's a great deal! Now...let me tell you more. If you are looking for a pretty petite, affectionate girl who knows how to obey, I'm a good pick! ***NOTE: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and vaccines; all required before adoptions are finalized. ........... Story
"Hi there! I'm called Rain, because at just 9 months old, I was found chained to a tree in the pouring rain, with only a plastic dog carrier as shelter. I was a bit scared when I got here, but I'm happy now! I absolutely adore belly rubs, treats, and lively games of tug of war with my favorite toy. I am very well behaved because I work with a trainer every week! I must say, I'm doing so well!!! She says I'm incredibly attentive and have learned so much already. These are her exact words: "Rain is VERY sweet and has a strong willingness to please. She is treat motivated, which is great for training. She loves to play fetch and enjoys a good scratch on her chest. She has come a long way and does really well with calm children, men and women. She will probably be good with other dogs, though we definitely need to do a meet-n-greet. She is curious about cats, so we will test her more if folks request that. She does bark when she gets excited, but she has been learning that barking once is enough. She will do best with a family that is willing to continue working with her puppy-like tendencies. There will be free ongoing training sessions from me to whoever adopts her." "Isn't it nice she said all that? We get FREE training! I've already mastered the art of sitting, walk nicely on a leash, and know other manners as well! I'm determined to absorb every bit of love and training, so that I can be the very best little girl in a forever home of my own. Could you be that special family for me?" ........... Story
Nova is a gorgeous girl who came to us as a stray. We have no idea what happened but we are so glad she is with us! Nova is truly a great girl. She did great at the Spring Festival...having so fun meeting everyone! Nova LOVES kiddos and seems good with other dogs--maybe not small ones. A meet and greet with your pup will tell us for sure. She can pull on a leash, but a training collar or no-pull harness will do wonders. She loves to play, knows sit, takes treats gently and is ready to go to a forever home who will fully appreciate her. She is a super girl!!! If you are looking for a wonderful family dog, Nova is perfect. Here's what she has to say: "I'm looking for a family who has a big heart, just like mine! I know I'm no longer a cute little puppy, but I will love you like no other! I have lots to offer and hope that someone will pick me so we can snuggle, play and watch TV together!" ........... Story
Cotton is a sweet little 25lb, pint-sized girl who is great with kids and dogs. At just around a year old, Cotton has loved everyone she meets, including strangers, the vet, and the groomer! We have no idea why she came to us as a stray and was never claimed. Although she pretends to acts tough in her kennel (a good watch dog), this girl is an incredible lover who just wants to be in your lap. Cotton rides fantastic in the car; listening to country music as she looks out the window watching life go by. She likes to have a good time and will entertain you with her sillyness. We recently found out she loves to wade in the water: maybe a boating pal? Cotton continues to work on her leash training. Thankfully she strives to please and is a totally manageable size. If you are looking for a sweet, endearing, lap dog, Cotton is for you! ........... Please come meet this sweet soul soon! (We keep our posts up-to-date.)
