Story
Hi, my name is Sheila and I'm 15 years old.  I was adopted when I was 7 years old and returned when I was 13 years old.  I was returned because I had severe anxiety when it stormed or when there were loud noises.  My family lived in the path of an airport and the planes flying over caused me to have anxiety.  I am back living with the foster family that I lived with before I was adopted. My foster mom says I am one of the smartest dogs she ever met.  I am friendly and greet visitors at the door.  If it's just one person I lay on the floor and just relax.  If there are many visitors I greet them and then relax in a different room.  I do pace when there are thunderstorms. My foster mom said one time I used the bath tub as a safe place during a storm.  I am guarded with men I don't know.  I don't live with any other dogs or cats.  I have learned to accept other dogs when I go to the groomer. I do not like being in a crate. I do best in a home where I am the only pet.  I am house trained.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $100.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.April 26, 2024, 5:48 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Boomer and I'm about 2-1/2 years old.  I was rescued by Bond County Humane Society from a shelter in Kentucky.  I am super friendly and sociable.  I am very playful with toys.  I love stuffed toys and am content to play by myself.  I am a good listener. I want to please my person.  I like to play with children, but when I get very excited I get a little mouthy.  I need a yard to play in and get my exercise.  It would be even better if it was fenced.  I play my version of fetch.  I chase the ball and bring it back just to get someone to chase me with it.  I walk nice on leash.  I do have a special talent.  When I am waiting to come out of my kennel I dance with my front paws.  When I arrived from Kentucky I was constantly shaking my head and pawing at my left ear.  The vet determined I had an ear infection and I was treated.  The treatment helped at first, but the infection returned.  I was treated again and the vet suspected I had a food allergy that is causing my ear infections.  Since my last treatment and a diet change to Royal Canin HL food my ear infection has cleared.  I have been without any ear problems for 8 weeks.  I am not taking any medication, but will probably need to stay on the special food for life. When I meet other dogs I like to be the one who initiates the greeting.  I am house trained.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am neutered, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is reduced to $50 to help offset the cost of my food.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.April 26, 2024, 5:48 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Fendi and I'm about 13 weeks old.  I was rescued along with my litter mate, Dior, by Bond County Humane Society from a shelter in Tennessee.  I am friendly and playful. When someone I don't know comes into the shelter I will bark.  I have a lot of puppy energy so I need an active family.  I am super smart and very trainable.  I like to play with toys, but love playing with Dior more.   I like to go for walks and am good on leash.  I have those sharp little puppy teeth so I need to be supervised around small children.  I am crate trained.  I am described as Special Needs because I have been sensitive to vaccines in the past. To avoid a reaction to vaccines I have been given Benadryl prior to the vaccine.  A veterinarian will know what to do.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $275.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.April 26, 2024, 5:48 pm

Story
Buster! What an amazing dog who unfortunately was living a life on a chain. He's happy to be warm and safe now, but dreaming of new, wonderful forever family. Buster loves EVERYONE! He's a big goofy boy who doesn't realize his size, but what a lovable, happy dog! With a training collar on, he walks very well on a leash. He loves treats and is ready to please. He loves to run and play and will make a wonderful companion to an active family---or someone with a secure fenced yard where he can exercise himself. Buster was left alone on a tie-out before, so we are asking that he be with a family who will let him live indoors and truly be part of the family. Buster has been tested with dogs and cats, and is happy with both. Of course, he might chase a kitty if it runs, but he can easily learn to be polite. He would love an active playmate dog to bond with...a meet and greet is always good to ensure a win-win for all. (The key to a happy home of pets are slow introductions over the course of a few days...step by step.) Don't miss out on this handsome, sweet boy! ........... Story
My name is Elsa and I came here on 10/3 with my sone Luigi. Since I'm a senior, any major medical needs I might have as I age is being donated by The Helping Paw Project ---as long as you use one of the vets they work with. (Shots, nails, and routine vet visits are not included.) I'm a healthy girl, but for the future, that's a great deal! I would love for us two to go home together...but if that isn't possible, I think we can learn to adjust. Now...let me tell you more. We were picked up as strays and our owners could no longer care for us. But, they did a nice job training us. I am a sweet, little pittie. I'm only halfway up to your knees. I walk well on a leash, take treats gently, and love people. I'm not fond of cats and I'm iffy with other dogs, so I'll be best as an only pet. My dream home will have a family who will cuddle me and let me snooze on a snuggly bed or blanket. I'd love a fenced yard, or folks who will take me on a leash to go potty. If you are looking for a pretty petite, affectionate girl who knows how to obey, I'm a good pick! ***NOTE: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and vaccines; all required before adoptions are finalized. ........... Story
Hi! My name is Nolan and I came here on 11/1 with my best friend Sage. Our owner could no longer care or us, so here we are. We had bad skin due to fleas, but we are getting better with medicated baths every week. I'm a handsome young dog that walks good on a leash and responds to corrections nicely. I sit on command too! I'm playful and energetic at times, but also gentle with a kind heart. My pictures don't show what a sweet, generous soul I am. I truly am not grumpy at all!!! I like to play, and I love to be petted, especially on my chest! I hope to have a home with kids (or adults who act like kids!) I hope they have toys I can chase and treats that are yummy. I've been told I'm a real looker, whatever that means. Now the bad stuff: I'm not good with chickens, and maybe not cats. But, other than that, I can be a wonderful family dog. I dream of a home with a fenced yard where I can play tug-of-war and chase balls. Or maybe we can go on walks! If you are looking for a good boy that loves people, just come meet me...and also my BFF Sage! ....... Note: We would love to be adopted together, so if you adopt us both, you get 2 for the price of one! Yep! Both of us for $175!!! A great deal for two great dogs! The 2 for 1 deal is only good if we are adopted together, which is preferred but not required, since they have gotten used to being apart here at the shelter. ......
