Story
Rescued this sweetheart and his sister from poor living conditions outside. When we picked them up they had fleas, roundworm, ringworm, and parvo. They have been treated for all by our vet and received first round of vaccines. A shelter would have euthanatized. 😞 Oreo is an 11 week old little boy. 100% happy and lovable! Just taught how to sit. Working on ‘down’ and potty training. We took these dogs in because they needed help. We are regular people, not associated with a rescue and paying out of pocket. If you are interested, any money offered will go to our local humane society as they need support, as well. Asking for vet reference. We live in Martinsville but willing to meet to find them the right home. Did I mention he likes to watch Harry Potter?😂 Thank you!

Story
Bruce is an American Bully. He is one of the sweetest and happiest dogs I have ever met! We would love nothing more than to keep him, but he needs to be in a home without another animal around. Maybe somewhere with property or a fenced in yard. He is not a fan of the neighbor’s dogs either. Basically, he wants all attention on him ☺️ We have 3 teenagers that have their friends over all the time. Bruce loves all of them so much. Nobody wants him to go. He loves to cuddle and play with toys. We want to find him a good home where he will be indoors and loved very much. He is very strong, but he is a gentle giant.

Story
Meet Cruiser! Cruiser is an 8-year-old, 72.8-pound APBT mix who found himself at the shelter through no fault of his own. This laid-back gentleman is housetrained, crate trained, and was said to do well with both kids and other dogs in his previous home. Right now, Cruiser is a bit nervous in the shelter environment—it’s a big change for a sweet, mellow guy like him. He allows handling from staff and is slowly starting to settle in. Out in the play yards, he begins to relax and show glimpses of his soft, loving personality. Cruiser may be quiet and unsure right now, but we can already tell there’s a big-hearted dog waiting to shine. He’s looking for a calm, patient home where he can feel safe, loved, and finally show the world who he really is. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt /. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!
