Story
Ginsburg was rescued when she was approx 11/2-2 years old. Ive had her for 21/2 years. She is great with people. Shes house trained, very tidy and loving. She doesn’t not get along with other dogs. I am traveling a lot and not able to give her the time she deserves. Ginsburg is very loyal and a great watch dog. She is pretty laid back and not a big barker. I had her DNA tested and she is s mix of American Fox Hound, German short hair pointer and a bit of golden retriever.

Story
Our sweet 12-year-old beagle is still on the hunt for her forever home — preferably one with fewer roommates than our current situation (six dogs is apparently too many to be the center of attention). She’s an easy keeper who runs on love, snacks, and proximity to humans. Bedtime is her favorite sport — she will happily curl up next to you and sleep straight through the night… unless she decides she’s not getting her way, in which case you’ll hear her signature “tiny whine of injustice.” Cute at noon, slightly less magical at 2 a.m. When she gets the zoomies, you’ll be treated to full-volume hound commentary. Otherwise, she’s pretty quiet and saves her voice for special occasions only. Mostly, she’s just the sweetest, snuggliest girl who wants nothing more than to be your shadow and soak up all the love she can get. Honestly? She’s a 10/10 good girl who deserves to be someone’s whole world. Photo background is AI generated

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rose is a young, purebred Shiba Inu who came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to rental restrictions. She's a tiny gal at around 17 pounds and will be a year old in April. She's a cool dog with the typical Shiba personality. They can be stubborn, fun loving, and march to the beat of their own drum. Rose will be vet checked and spayed soon and her fee is $150. Rose is bright eyed and enjoys exploring the world around her. She will require good, regular exercise. Rose has done well with other dogs and older kids. She has been around cats and is said to try to play with them, not that all cats are thrilled with that. She would be a fun companion and will definitely keep a person on their toes. She has had a little bit of basic training, but will need a lot of attention and not to be left alone too much. She quickly showed that she is capable of vocally getting her point across (the "Shiba scream")! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alan came to the shelter on 1/22/2024 from the city pound after his legal hold time was finished. We're guessing on his breed mix, but are thinking German or Dutch shepherd, pit bull, and maybe even mastiff. He is a big, strong, and friendly guy with a gorgeous brindle coat. He is about 6 years old and has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee is $150. Alan does appear to be housetrained and does know some basic commands. He walks pretty well on leash with a harness. He's very in tune to people and kind of a sensitive soul (don't tell him we said anything). He's also an absolute sweetie who wants to be around people all the time. We do think he should be the only pet in the home. He might be a bit too large and strong for really young kids.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rello is an approximately 7 month old lab/husky mix who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. He wasn't allowed at a rental property. He's a happy and friendly young guy who would make a great addition to a family. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Rello did live in a home with kids and cats and did very well. He has also done well with other dogs. As a young dog, he does need some basic training but is enthusiastic and ready to learn. He's an active young dog who will need regular exercise. He still has some growing left to do so we do expect him to be a pretty large dog at maturity. His former owners were working on house training with him, but he still needs a little bit of work on that. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Quest was surrendered to the shelter on 5/9/2025 due to rental restrictions. He is 4 years old and was a very loved dog who had lived in his home his whole life. His owners were forced to relocate and couldn't find an affordable place that would accept dogs like him. Quest is a mix of boxer, Doberman, and pit bull, and he is big and strong. He has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee of $150 is fully sponsored. Quest did live with his canine sibling in his home and was fine. They grew up together. We do think that he'd be okay with a mellow female dog of similar size. No smaller animals. He would do best in an adult only home. Teens are okay.  Shelter life has been hard on our Quest and he has lost a significant amount of weight. We've had him completely vet checked and this weight loss is due to the stress of the shelter environment. He would make a very loving and loyal companion. He needs a home!
