Story
Mr. Manny originally came to us in late 2016.  He was a very shy guy at just over a year old.  Because of his shyness he spend a lot of time at the shelter and finally got adopted almost a year later in late October 2017.  He stayed in that home until 3/26/18 at which time he was returned to us.  The people who had adopted him drugged him very heavily thinking that would help with how nervous it was - it did not do so but made matters worse. From March 26, 2018 Manny was at the shelter until he got adopted on July 6, 2019 (well over a year).  The person who adopted him did amazing with him and things went along fairly well for a while.  Recently Manny decided at random times he did not like the other dog in the house and on three different occasions went after the other dog requiring stitches and medical care.  His adopter couldn't do it any longer and returned him to us, in tears, on 3/24/22.  It breaks our heart to see this dog who has lost his spirit 100%.  He just trys to hide in a corner and be invisible.  He eats occasionally and other than that not much reaction out of him.  The biggest question - what does Manny need - the list is long but here are the biggies:  1.  Single woman owner (he is terrified of men);  2.  Be the only animal in the home (no other dogs or cats).  3.  Have the ability to be outside more than inside as housebreaking is not his strong suit.  4.   A fenced in yard so that he can spend time outside - NOT ON A CHAIN - but with a fence to contain him so he doesn't run off (which he will).  5.  Someone that understands he will probably never be that loving cuddly, curl up in bed with you, type of dog but will love him in spite of that lack of affection.  6.  Someone that can prove to him all humans are not inhumane.  His prior home had a good start on it so a loving caring hand will be required.  When Manny was with us the first time he spent several months out in foster and his foster mom made great progress with him and he learned to trust her and actually enjoy having her pet him.  Manny is now 7 years old and has spent more time in a shelter during his lifetime than he has in a home.  We hope and PRAY there is someone out there who would open their home and heart to Manny.  No dog deserves to spend the majority of his life in a shelter - EVER.  Manny is probably a Lab/Great Dane mix and weighs in at 75 lbs.  If you have what it takes to love Manny, even with all of his needs, please go to our website at www.patriotsforpets.com and submit an application. ##1368661##

This is King.  He is one of Kylie's babies.  Sex:  Male   DOB:  3/31/22  Breed:  His mom is a German Shepherd - Daddy is unknown. This baby was born with us here at the shelter.  Very outgoing and social puppy.  All puppies are spayed/neutered, current on puppy shots, wormed, current on preventatives and micro-chipped. These puppies are ready for visitors and their new homes.  Puppies are good with adults, kids, other dogs and young enough to train with kitties.  They are NOT housebroken.  Puppies are lots of work so make sure you are prepared for that when considering adopting.  Doing excellent on going outside to go potty - keeping inside area clean. To apply to adopt please go to our website at www.patriotsforpets.com and submit an application.  The adoption fee on all puppies is $295.00. ##1410321##

Story
This is Ollie.  He is 2 years old.  He is a Lab/Boxer/German Shepherd mix according to his DNA test. Ollie has come a long way in the past four months that he has been here and we are now comfortable in saying we believe he is ready for adoption. He is a big boy.  It has taken him a long time to come around and accept the staff without being reactive.  He is now able to go out to the play yards with volunteers and will come back in without issue.  He allows all of us to pet him and love on him.  It is still a slow approach but once he lets you get close he loves the attention. He will probably not be a walk in and meet him once adoption - he will require his potential adopters to come and spend time with him so he can learn to trust. He is housebroken, knows basic commands, reacts better to women than me and we would recommend older children only. He is neutered, current on shots, wormed, heartworm negative, current on preventatives.  His adoption fee will be $100.00.  To fill out an application please go to our website at www.patriotsforpets.com and submit an application. ##1532553##

Story
Name:   Niner  Sex:  Male   Date of Birth:  2/15/22  Breed:  Shepherd Mix with possibly some Amerian Bulldog thrown in for good measure. Social, outgoing, loves people.  Gets along with other dogs, plays rough so might be too much for kitties, good with adults and older kids. He plays rough so young kids are not a good idea.  He is reported as housebroken.  Unfortunately his prior owner didn't do any work with him on manners so he is still a rambunctious puppy who needs to learn manners. He is neutered, current on shots, current on preventatives, wormed and micro-chipped.  Adoption fee is $225.00.  The FIRST step is to go to our website at www.patriotsforpets.com and submit an application.  If approved then the next step is to set up an appointment to visit.. ##1379621##

Story
This is Remy.  He is almost 4 years old.  He is a Shepherd mix.  He was adopted from us in July with our standard adoption contract (must return if can't keep).  Well that didn't happen.  We have no clue how many homes he has been in but he ended up in another shelter on a bite hold.  Apparently there was a dog in the home where he was an she was in season and unfortunately the two dogs got into it.  Someone got into the middle of the fight and got bit but because Remy did not have any current shot records he ended up in a shelter on a "quarantine hold".  We were contacted.  At the end of his quarantine hold we picked him up and paid the fees involved for his hold and updated Rabies.  This is a perfect example of why our requirements are that all other animals in the home must be spayed/neutered in order to adopt. Remy has been back with us since 10/25/22 and he is doing amazing.   He is social with all staff and we aren't seeing any issues with other dogs.  He is housebroken.   His shots are all now current - he is heartworm negative (tested 11/8/22) and current on his preventatives.  He has been neutered since 2020.  His current weight is 45 lbs. His adoption fee is $150.00.  If interested in meeting him, please go to our website at www.patriotsforpets.com and submit an application and if approved we can set up a time for you to meet this handsome boy. ##1571729##
