Story
Hi, I am on a stray hold right now hoping my family comes to pick me up!   I am not able to meet anyone while on a stray hold, but my photo is here in case my family is looking for me during my stray hold period. If my family does not come to pick me up and I become available for adoption, this message will disappear and will be replaced with information about how to adopt a dog from HSSC. Be sure to check out other dogs currently at the Humane Society of Scott County at https://hssc.us/dogs
We'll also keep you updated on Enzo (Courtesy Post)'s adoption status with email updates.

Story
Enzo – A Loyal, Sensitive Cane Corso Seeking a Calm, ChildFree Home Enzo is a handsome, gentlehearted Cane Corso who thrives in a quiet, predictable home. He’s housebroken, crate trained, dog friendly, cat friendly, and knows several commands. He loves to fetch, enjoys having a fenced yard to stretch his legs, and bonds deeply with his people. Personality & Behavior Shy with new people but warms up with patience Protective in typical Corso fashion Scared of children and overwhelmed by loud, fast, unpredictable environments Sweet, loyal, and eager to please once he feels safe Dog selective at times, but generally friendly Needy/Velcrotype companion who likes being close to his person Enzo will thrive with: Adults only or a home with teenagers and up A fenced yard A calm, lowtraffic environment Someone patient, confident, and experienced with large guardian breeds A family who understands his sensitivity and gives him space to feel safe Reason for Rehoming Enzo simply cannot handle the noise, activity, and unpredictability of young children. His family loves him deeply but wants him to have a home where he can relax and feel secure. Reason for Rehoming Enzo simply cannot handle the noise, activity, and unpredictability of young children. His family loves him deeply but wants him to have a home where he can relax and feel secure. The suggested adoption donation for _Enzo_ is $__415_, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for theirpet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. ##2702999##

Story
Meet Dale — your future best friend and personal ray of sunshine ☀️ At just 2 years old and a perfect 18 pounds, Dale the Puggle is bursting with personality and charm. This little guy is a true social butterfly who greets everyone he meets—human or canine—with pure, joyful enthusiasm. If happiness had a face, it would look a lot like Dale’s wagging tail and bright, eager eyes. Dale absolutely loves to play, especially when it involves his people or a fun canine companion. Toss him into a yard with another playful dog, and you’ll see his signature move: the polite play bow. He waits patiently for the “yes, let’s play!” signal—and then it’s game on! Zoomies, wrestling, and joyful tussling are his specialties. Because of his energetic and sometimes bouncy greetings (he’s still working on keeping all four paws on the ground), Dale would do best in a home without small children. He would thrive in a home with another friendly, playful dog who shares his love for action-packed fun. Cats, however, are not his ideal roommates—Dale assumes everyone wants to play like a dog, and cats tend to disagree. A physically fenced yard would make Dale’s dreams come true. He loves to run laps at top speed to burn off energy, though he’s also a great walking buddy and does nicely on a leash. Whether it’s a stroll around the neighborhood or a car ride adventure, Dale is always ready to tag along—he rides beautifully in the car and just wants to be where his people are. And speaking of being close… Dale has a quirky and adorable habit that sets him apart: he thinks he might be part bird. When you’re relaxing, don’t be surprised if he hops up and perches himself across your shoulders like a cozy, living scarf. It’s his favorite way to snuggle and stay connected. At night, he’ll happily curl up in bed with you—he’s a devoted cuddlebug through and through. Dale is kennel trained, house trained, and well-mannered overall—just a happy, loving boy looking for his perfect match. He’s up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped, so he’s all set to start his next chapter. If you’re looking to add laughter, love, and a whole lot of sunshine to your life, Dale is ready to meet you. 💛 Adopters must be within 2 hours of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Dale's adoption fee is $300.
